I take the slots 421, 422, 423, 424

finally I may not release one of them as a NCF, but I still keep the slots, since it may be useful for something else.


it is too big. when I went fight them, I won instantly because they were too large to fit in the 2 lines allowed

I don't know what I did wrong.
I downloaded the link in the OP, I put H5_Game.NCF in bin
I put NCF_Core.h5u, NCF_DefaultStats.h5u in UserMODS
I also put Nelgirith's pack in UserMODS

I tried to run the NCF file from bin and it says empty creature pointer #180 then it says originil Heroes of Might and Magic V not found

the file is named "NCF__Core.pak" for ToE 3.1

what is your H5 version?

3.1 oh did I download the framework accidentally?

also I had a question about where to put the files

I've noticed some creatures are.paks and others h5us do they all go into the UserMODS and what about the icon packs? thanks in advanced!

somes NCF are .pak and somes NCF are .h5u

The creator chooses him-self the format he wants.

if the ncf is .pak put it in data folder and if it is .h5u then put it in UserMODS folder.

Nota: .pak is the recommended format because Editor just read this format and ignores .h5u format.

So you can rename .h5u NCF files to .pak and so put them in data folder.

Yes i know and i dont want to know why...anyway .pak or .h5u are .zip so...a .zip ..even on usermods can be renamed to .pak...

ex: I take your .zip and i rename it .pak and i shoot it in data folder....

Best way to test is to put the files unpacked in the data folder - they will replace the ones from the .paks

By unpacked I mean having the folders and same directory structure in the data folder, instead of in a package.

(for example, data\GameMechanics\etc)

Hmm, it is more complicated. Compression indeed wastes time of the processor, but the Hard Disk will be used less since the files are smaller to read when compressed.

I don't advise to keep those files outside when releasing a mod, but it's just way easier to test without having to pack each time. When the mod is ready, you should package it inside a .zip file

I have just made a creature which is visible in the statistics screen and during the tactic phase, but not during the battle
