Quote: Totally random, but this is my absolute favorite scene from the Norweigan zombie flick Dead Snow (an absolute MUST for any fan of zombie movies):

Unfortunately it's in french without subtitles but I think you should be able to figure out why it's funny.
lmao. I'll have to stream that.

You won't regret it. Any movie that has a sex scene in a frozen outhouse during an attack of zombified Nazis has to be awesome.

Dead Snow was fun. Bloody good fun. Nazi Zombies! There's nothing more awesome than that.
Latest movie I watched was Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Stupid little movie, nothing out of the ordinary save for the performance of Andy Serkis, the only redemptive value.

Any Battlestar Galactica fans here? I started watching the series and am about halfway through the 1st season. It's not terrible but so far I'm not overly-impressed with it. The premise of the show is really nifty, but I'm just not developing much empathy for the characters, which is taking away from it. Or if I am developing empathy, it's the unfriendly variety. Like, I keep hoping that the pilot lady, Starbuck, accidentally gets thrown out of the nearest airlock. I really don't care what happens to any of the young characters in it cause they all seem the same to me. The commander and the president are pretty cool, but that's about it.
I'll keep watching it since it's not as though I'm not enjoying it, but I'm hoping it picks up. I haven't even cried yet. Even Merlin succeeded in making me cry. More than once. Yes.

Once you looked at StarGate or Atlantis, it is hard to have any interest for Galactica. Not enough action, special effects probably payed from Croatian budget, all actors whisper, so it seems more important, and the plot is inexistent.

Ohh please you're comparing the lame stargate to Battlestar ?
Battlestar galactica at least gives you more than 4 characters, people die there, there is action/politics/interpersonal drama and you get to ask yourself what would you do if you were in their place ohh and at least not every episode was -
- Lets dial up a random planet
- ohh there are dangerous thins on this planet
- Guys, it has been a pleasure working with you coz it seems we're doomed
- Actually maybe we can survive this be pulling a monkey out of a burning zebra's ass and calling it a nuke specially designed to kill everything that isn't us
- That might work, I sure hope we don't die
- A bunch of dramatic moments which nobody with half a brain bought, the plan which had a 0.00000000000000001% chances of success has worked and everybody is happy.
And now take this and stretch it for 500 episodes, try not to change a damn thing coz every episode must be just like this one...

Well, for me there is no possible comparison between, Stargate/Atlantis are legends. But if you like Galactica, that's fine too. Didn't survive much still.

Battlestar Galactica picked up a lot after season 1 imo. I'm into season 3 now and very much enjoying it. It also passed the vital litmus test: I finally watched an episode that made me cry. It wasn't just a one-streak sort of deal either. I think it squeezed 4 or 5 drops out of me. Serious business.
I think what I didn't like about season 1 is that the situation felt so hopeless in the show that it had the opposite effect of suspense. I just sort of didn't give a ****, although overall I feel like they got the hang of their own show more.

I highly recommend Ghost Rider: Spirt of Vengeance. The acting, directing, and score are amazing. It has some of the best special effects I have seen in years. The story is really well told and Nicolas Cage's take on Johnny Blaze's inner struggle reignites his career. If he does not win an Oscar for his portrayal of the Ghost Rider, I will be shocked.
Nah, just kidding. It's a silly B-Movie. I still found it enjoyable but I went in with low expectations (I saw the first movie).

No Country For Old Men is a Kewl movie, with a capital K. It had that dude from Goya's Ghost in it, and he did such a good job!
Then again there's probably like 1 person here who saw Goya's Ghost and everybody else saw No Country For Old Men.

Quote: I got around to watching Ip Man. If you haven't seen it yet and you like martial arts/drama movies, it's a must see.
2nd the recommendation. Some of the choreographed fight scenes were truly amazing. Definitely one of the top five martial arts movies I've seen.
I didn't realize there was a sequel that also is supposedly pretty good. It's on my netflix queue now.

You should enjoy it. I found the choreography in the 2nd one to be even more impressive, although I liked the context in the 1st movie more, perhaps because I feel like there has yet to be an epic film about the Chinese occupation in WW2. To me that seems like a gold mine that's never been taken advantage of as far as war movies go.

The Devil Inside was one of the worst I have ever seen. Also having 15yr old girls sitting in front of you, facebooking on their iphones during the most intense scenes is ANNOYING. They also had to talk 24/7.
The ending makes me wonder if they just ran out of money.

Like, I wanted to watch chronicle, but not in theatre where I was, so I went to watch the hunger games and I felt kinda mugged. Don't see that movie. It's terrible. Go watch battle royale instead. If you don't like gore, then still don't watch the hunger games, because the camera directing is more obnoxious than in cloverfield. 50% of that movie is the camera crunched inside people's faces. The other 50% is the camera being flicked around, so you see exactly nothing.
There is some decent acting though.

The Total Recall remake coming up in the summer looks like it might be a disappointment. Damn shame.

I get the feeling it will be a Clash of the Titans-esque diatribe of special effects.
