@Storm-Giant: So true. Normally I don't care that much about the spoilers, but this movie is a noble exception.

Warcraft Movie Trailer
So, what do you Guys think? The movie looks incredible imo, and I just can't wait for it! Nevertheless, something was missing... I was like "it's incredible" and all, but guess I wanted something a little bit more (though I do get the feeling that they still didn't show us many nice things, like where's Gul'dan or Medivh which I did see in action on the leaks?). My "problem" probably lies in the fact that the movie covers the First War. So there's not that much "stuff" from the universe like other races etc. It's just Orcs and Humans now. I really hope this movie will only be the start so that we can see more of the universe (Reign of Chaos movie is a dream)

I would prefer Reign of Chaos to be honest, but this looks good so far.

The movie looks... well like a cartoon. And what is with those armor? They looks like from a cosplay, so cheap.
But Ragnar Lothbrok is there. Maybe the only positive thing I see so far.
Hmmm, I am to much critical, but the only thing i can comment are visuals.

Like it or dislike it, the movie is staying true to Warcraft-style artwork from all of the games & sketch art. The orcs are ultra bulky, almost like a smaller Hulk, and the human armor is highly stylized. The Warcraft trailer looked like.. well... Warcraft.
My initial impression was that it looked kind of goofy in a live action setting, but I changed my mind the second time. It makes the movie distinctly Warcraft in its flavor. I'm glad they did it.

Can't agree with there being allegedly poor visuals. I see some really nice work in there:

That's the best thing about the movie. Visually it stays true to it's game origins (plot-wise also probably, I think Blizzard is keeping watch here). What I hate about most game/comicbook adaptations is that they're taking the "realistic" approach. You'll probably take me for a nerd, but imo a fantasy movie should be magical, show as things that aren't possible in real life, give as a possibility to take a break from every-day struggles. I want to immerse myself in this movie, just like in the case of the LotR Trilogy...
PS: I'm being Captain Obvious here, but I presume that green orcish infant is Thrall?
PS 2: With the movie jamm-packed with all those things I wonder what it's lenght will be?

I am not sure that the best thing about a live action movie is to look like a cartoon. A movie, no matter is it fantasy or not should look real, or better said CGI should be used in places to make it real as possible. If not, than you better actually make a carton.
Good example of how good and bad you can do a movie is actually LotR compared to hobbit. The first one looks moere real and better, the later one looks like a cartoon. Combining real actors and environment with too much/bad cgi doesn't make the moive look true to warcraft, it just looks not that good.
Thats why i said, they should went with a full animated movie, as it would look and feel a lot better (and actualy look like warcraft) than combination of two.

I must say that I was not that psyched when I saw the trailer, but I do believe it will be above average.
It is really beautiful and I love the visuals. A lot says they suck, but well I guess they have 6 months to polish everything.
The thing that scares me is the story. Will it be strong enough?

Well maybe that's the whole point: to try making Warcraft into a "real" movie? What I mean is that we already had a lot of Blizzards "cartoon" cinematics, and nothing beats a living actor. Imo it's the perfect time to try a "real" movie. Even if only to find out how it'll actually fare. If it fails it'll be just that, but if not it could start something beautiful. I've felt a big hole after LotR and Hobbit trylogies. Now I actually have something to look forward to!
Yeah sure, we have all those CGI orcs, but I suppose there's no possible way to make "real" Warcraft-style orcs like in the case of LotR movies orcs, cause they're too bulky. And I just can fathom the possibility of them not look like Warcraft orcs
I have a real good feeling about this movie. I say we should all give it a chance

you can make realistic warcraft orcs. you just need to get some strongmen. they're bulky enough for that.

Or you can do what Game of thrones did with giants, or what LotR did with hobbits. There are way and tricks how to make something look big without use of heavy CGI. The best use of CGI is when you use it in combination with real things (like parts of face, eyes and similar are animated). Normally its a lot harder to do, but it also would look a lot better and real.
Anyway, the look of the movies doesnt say will it be good or bad. Even that CGI that we see in the trailer is not that good for a real action movie, it doesnt mean the movie will be bad. But that is the only thing we can comment about at the moment looking on the trailer.
