Star Wars ep7 cast unveiled

The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.

LOL, i literally just did, man. i carried the post over from another thread, because i thought it would more appropriately fit here. i was so busy transferring, that i didn't bother to see if it was old news or not.

Ohhh this is soooo going to suck the big donkey b*ll.
I mean Max Von Sydow and Andy Serkis - fantastic. But what the hell is the story going to be about?? Mrs Han Solo and her crochet evenings?? Han's World of Carpentry?? Luke Skywalker with a comb over taking $20 at the door of his peep show club?? Uncle Chewy read Harry Potter??
And some random bunch of brat offspring (a la young Anakin Skywalker) who make you want to kill them.
No no, Meroe - lets give it a chance. Maybe they won't kill off the only credible Sith Lord in the first movie again. Maybe we won't be bored rigid by the growing pains of a pathetic teenage Darth Vadar. Or the confusion as to why the technology of the past seems so much more advanced that the present ?????

Well, they've officially stated everything not in the original six episodes is not canon anymore.
So it won't be the AMAZING Thrawn thrilogy which sucks.

This is going to be great and I am so glad that Disney holds the rights to Star wars right now. The SW universe is so immense and now we can finally have even more great movies taking place in it. 
Just imagine all the possible spin-offs they can make. 
Also who cares if the technology doesn't make sense, this is Star wars for christ sake...

I was so disgusted I actually shouted obscenities when Darth Maul cacked it in Phantom Menace. In the cinema. In front of my parents. Jeesh I got thrashed for that.
I really don't know what to make of it to be honest. Maybe the Little Mermaid can save Alderaan

Haha yeah, I guess your fears are pretty understandable. Even I have come to admit that the Phantom Menace had some pretty awful scenes and characters.
Hah! A Star Wars musical could certainly be a reality now, so don't give up your hope on that, boys and girls.

I remember I was in Edinburgh when the first prequel came out. It was one of the first movies I watched without subtitles. I loved the classics as a kid and I was very disappointed with the new characters. I think the biggest flaw was the lack of a charismatic antagonist but then again, who can fill in Darth Vader's shoes? The following films were not as bad though.

I don't really care about the old actors being a part of it, I'd rather watch something entirely new.
