first, how do we want to construct Homm6? continuing on with Ashan? moving back to the realms of Homm4 and Homm3? or a new world entirely?

i think maybe since Sandro was in both Axeoth and Ashan, it would be logical to have the new one focus on his passage from Axeoth to Ashan

I would personally go for a whole new world, really experiment with concepts, whole new lore and races and such...

maybe that's what the nival guys thought, but not too many people liked that idea. Also, instead of using cutscenes in the middle of a game, I think that text like in Homm4 would be better. Cinematics after each campaign, like in Warcraft 3, is good i think, and it was really well pulled off.
A new world would work, but i'm thinking that maybe we should go for a more renaissance type period instead of the constantly beaten medieval time setting. Guns rule.

the enthuiasm is good, but before we start getting in voice actors, it's just a bunch of concepts for the moment.

of course we need to think about which factions would have guns, etc, etc.

also, we should make it so that each race is good and evil in their own way, and that no one race is truly good or truly evil. I also think that the alignment system is a piece of crap. Let the player decide who is good or not.

Hurrah!!!! a alignment non-believer

we could continue with Sandro, but make him somewhat of a dimensional traveller (hops from dimension to dimension, depending on his mood) allowing us to open up another new world with new lore.

it sounds cool, but...

we'll have a relatively advanced Axeoth (assuming that we are giving them guns etc) intersecting with a relatively primitive Ashan.

maybe taking place in a world between the two?

Well, we're just talking about Sandro here. He is a necromancer. He has no need for advanced weaponry, though some of his resurrected troops may have some. When they get to Ashan, that supply of weapons quickly diminishes, due to the more primitive weaponry of the time. Remember, his supply of guns comes from rezzed troops, not manufactured in Zombieland.

except for Fortress, that we need to change. I've been thinking about these towns:

Haven- duh...
Necropolis- usual stuff
Dungeon- same kind of lineup as Chaos from Homm4
Tower- Order town, with a heavier magic emphasis
Palace- Imperialistic town with advanced tech like guns and cannons
Inferno- Demon dudes
Rampart- nature elf hippies
Stronghold- orcs, goblins, barbarians, etc...
Fortress- Homm3 style, but better, and not suckish
Sanctum- ethereal spirits in the dimension between worlds that Sandro has to cross

ten towns-i think that's good. Main story should focus on Axeoth being ripped apart by Sandro's spells, while nearly everybody tries to stop him, in the end he wins over and leaves a devastated, yet still functioning world.

btw: where's the other guy?

anyways, spell schools need to be drastically changed i think. The spell system is just waaay to imbalanced. Luck should not be a skill, it's luck. Luck artifacts I'm fine with.

listen, Berny-lets reach some kind of compromise here.

from my position, your making demands and returns to a nostalgic time with only slight innovations, allowing for something safe and fan-made. me, i'm making demands and progressions to unexplored territories, with lots of possiblity for excitment and error.

so how about this. you post your idea, nirual posts his idea, and i post mine, and from there we pick and choose lore, factions, settings, spells and so on from each others stuff. this will allow us to have an equal say in the project.

speaking of which, Nirual's been out of the discussion loop for too long, we should let him back in.

well, then give me your ideas, i'm sure we can reach a compromise.

anyways, I was thinking about drastically changing lineups and tier style for each town. Like my morphing idea for the Sanctum. And besides, I don't think renaissance period is exactly "traditional" is it? If you dont like my ideas, then post your own, and let's see what we can make out of them. I'm all ears...and mouth...

For Bixie: Tough it up, put up your own ideas, and primarily try comunication before any other, more drastic steps.
for Berni-mac: Tone it down. Not everyone is amused by your bearing. Some people, like Bixie, will be annoyed and/or put off by it.
