I of course can not speak for all of them, but I am very upfront about things when I am interested in somebody.  Now in the initial flirting stage .. no..but as soon as we set up a 'date' I will bring it up.  Surprisingly, so far, it has changed nothing.  *shrugs*.  Maybe my initial impression of people is spot on or something.

Thank you very much. I imagine if it did change something it'd be really really unpleasent.

One of the biggest (fair) reasons I think it could change something, is if the other party wants to have non-adopted kids.

Though that would only apply if it's a guy->girl and a guy, I guess.

Edit: I imagine it changed nothing with the red haired girl from Emil's thread, then?

Edit2: Btw., I believe you're a girl->guy, right? What if it turns out the person you're going on a date with is a guy->girl and you're equally considerate in the way that you tell eachother in the same time. Would you turn said person down? Would you expect said person to turn you down?

Why would I turn them down?  Would be kind of hypocritical of me wouldn't it?  No, I would not turn them away.

As for the red head..kind of wish it had.  Watching paint dry might have been more exciting.  Now, don't get me wrong..I don't expect a party every day or anything..but got to be more exciting then grass.

Well I must give you kudos for great logical reasoning. I've in my time met a lot (few) people who've actually been very hypocritical on exactly said point (not that I blame them, people are free to be how they want to, in my opinion).

No I understand. There's little point to spend time with someone you don't enjoy spending time with.

The economic case for same-sex marriage.
Quote:
It is no coincidence that many of the opponents of same-sex marriage are also opponents of the ongoing shift to marriages of equality. Theirs is a futile battle. The reach of markets will keep expanding, allowing individuals and families to reap greater returns by selling their specialized skills and services outside the home. Technological change will further undermine the benefits of specialization within the family. Improvements in women’s education will continue to raise the opportunity cost of staying at home.

The implication is that ultimately, traditional marriages are doomed.

An interesting article from Jim Sterling at Destructoid about the new gay gamer convention called Gaymercon.

So do you view Gaymercon as discriminatory?  If there were a "Straight Gamers Convention" would that be discriminatory?

Not at all.  Straight people are free to attend.  If straight gamers would prefer an alternate venue, there is PAX and E3.

My question is, "If a convention were named 'Straight Gamercon' would that be discriminatory?" PAX & E3 have nothing to do with being straight or gay.

No, they are free to do so. It's highly unnecessary though and I doubt it'd become very popular since we already have PAX and E3 and Gamescom and whatnot.

Naming it gaycom or straightcom is not discrimination, disbarring people from the convention because of their sexuality is however.

Personally, I don't see the point.

But straight people are free to go to Gaymercom, the only difference is the target group.

EDIT:

Reading the promotion video's comments makes me angry as ****, I didn't realize how much stupid still existed.

The guys are legit funny and are fighting for a good cause, yet it has more dislikes than likes. The ****.

It is not titles that honor men, but men that honour titles. I grossly dislike the idea of having to acknowledge an individual just because they were born in a 'special' way. Why must I be forced to pay heed to someone who's only outlining attribute is their sexuality?

Which is quite the contradiction, homosexuals want to 'shout out and let the world know' but at the same time don't want people to make decisions or judge them on basis of their sexuality? When that's the only thing I know about you, how can I not?

This is if your intention is the understand and want true equality, now imagine if you're just a simple individual who cannot fathom or express what you feel, you just sense injustice, (same with children) damn right you get angry, because this action just adds another brick to the wall that separates us. And this is what I'm most upset about, the LGBT community eagerly awaits  concessions not earned, all in the name of equality, and yet they strive so hard to stand apart, and this contradiction wounds me so.

No gay hitsquad are gonna show up, put you in their party-van and drive you off to their gay convention.

You don't have to do anything.

And your drone attitude is most disheartening, I was hoping we could discuss this as adults, but you don't hear my words.
