3.2 and 4.0 have different lods or use different methods while processing resources...

XXL patch works without problems with the English version of Complete (4.0)
The only thing you need is to create a zero-byte h3blade.exe file in the game folder.

Really? I tested on Russian 4.0 and it seems to be some problems like permanent crushes  Please try to win any battle and take a look on creatures speed.

Thank You, It does work for Heroes Complete, but could you post a new link for the map editor, the old one doesn't work even if you right click & save as.

Tried it, not bad patch, the map is reallllly HUGE! I just wonder if anybody will play it in active tournaments someday...an XXXL+U map will take ages to finish, or not...
Anywayz, its nice to play it for fun, as you can play it in more than 2 players, am I right?!?

Does anybody know where to download mapeditor for these new XXl_maps. As mentioned before the previous link doesn't seem to work. Have been using the maps with Heroes 3 Complete English & it seems to work great.

Hey ppl, i need help, have pass long time since i play heroes and dont remember how to make balance map i got to "http://www.toheroes.com/h3maps/Random.htm" and save balance map (copy data) and save it in 3do/h3/data/ as rmg.txt but map dont working, i rebemer that i played that maps over gamespy long time ago,1vs1 main + 2 towns around each player, and now its not working , help tnx

Its seems itīs possible to play these maps on WOG
i tried several randoms XXL, XXXL, XXXXL.
I installed SOD then aplied the patch to the lod. then ran the wog install.
Maps where generated by the h3wog XXL.exe then opened with WOG.exe. As stated by others there is a minimapglitch (its all black). However its playable.
Im not sure, but on one game the game crashed after i used the school of wizardy. Later when i tried to load the autosave (and some other previous saves aswell)it says the map game was saved incorrectly and the map is a previous version (if remember correctly). It disables ERM syntax and you are left with a almost nonWOG game. That is except for being able to have a commander.
Conclusion : It works just donīt visit the school of wizardry (or it could be having too many skills or something).

Hey Fester, thanks for your quick response!! Just one question though, the initial instructions talk about running __XXL_heroes3.exe to play the big maps. That wasn't in the distro. Could you post that up as well (assuming its required.)
