The horses are nice, not the best option but still nice. I'm very disappointed from the Haven heroes. It took me a minute do realize the differences. But it's still something. About the information in the News topic - I'm happy that old heroes will return but how will they fit in Ashan?
Easy, they'll be different guys with the same name. I'd love if they were actually the OG Antagarich heroes, but it's highly unlikely. Still, revealing that Ashan is another world in the old M&M cosmology would make me very happy; it got poured down the tubes for no reason (Heroes IV's needless destruction of the old world notwithstanding.)
This video has me very excited, as they're fixing a lot of the little details that HV got wrong. Heroes that actually look like their gender, might/magic heroes again, references to the old universe; I can't wait!
That's from Xhane's translate:
'One of the great fun of the Might & Magic series comes from the Heroes appearing in several games, thus becoming legendary Heroes. I’m sure you’ve heard of Crag Hack, Solmyr, Sandro, Lord Kilburn... and so on.
So, if you’ve played the previous games set in Ashan or the ones before, you can expect some familiar faces in Heroes 6.
Also, you might want to keep your eyes open for references to the ancient Might & Magic universe.'
That doesn't sound to me like same names, different heroes. Plus, it's mentioned about 'references to the ancient Might & Magic universe'. I wouldn't be surprised if they connect somehow the old universe and Ashan.

Quote: Don't you feel that this kind of video that we got now, would be hurting the image of the game?
I feel that what hurts the image of the game more profoundly than anything is a divided fanbase disappointed in the lack of information being fed out. This video is an attempt to help ease that situation by one of the developers who genuinely does give a damn about the series and the fans, hence I think it is rather harsh to start whining about his accent, of all things.
Like I said, this is not in the same league as the tactical marketing videos aimed at Joe Public, but a Q&A directed at established fans, i.e. the posters right here (otherwise, why bother mentioning the references to old games and returning creatures).

I'm more interested in the content that the package than the wrapping and as admira said Quote: PS: I am no English speaker but I can hear most of them without problem
, still without Xhane's transcript I would have missed some of the info, if next time they also put some subtitles all is well.
Also the effort put doesn't consists only in making a video but also on sorting out the questions, see what info can be given or not etc., so from my point of view the can release them like this one (whit noted observation).
So I guess, thanks for the info and the effort because sometimes is more important then the end result.
P.S. Don't really think that this video would be harmful to the game (and/or sales/opinions) after all it was mostly directed at us the fans who demanded some answers, but as I explained on the opening line this is just my way of thinking

Quote: so the haven heroes in the art section are heroes recruited from the external tavern or is that what heroes will look like ? coz call me crazy but i actually like to have a face on my hero...
If you're re-faring to faces on the model in the adventure map than NO, if you're re-faring if they'll have portraits whit individual faces and story's than YES there is.
EDIT
Those are the models for Heaven Heroes one male and one female (think that the are for might class, at list I hope well have different models for magic class), and when he said Tavern I think her referred to the building that is found in the castle and as a external one on the adventure map.

Tavern heroes yes, but campaign heroes will get faces ingame. The models representing the main characters on the website are preliminary I think.

ok I will be a bit clearer - it will work like in H5, campaign characters get unique models (faces!) and ordinary heroes hired from a tavern don't (helmets!). There are, however, different models depending on whether they are male or female, and might or magic.

It's not the information which I complain about but the presentation. We did get some good info on that video as I noted in previous posts too. But the presentation felt like a home-made vid.
As long as this is not aimed at 'Joe Public', it's alright. But imagine if they would watch it anyway? It will leave them with a bad impression of a cheap or unimportant game.

Quote: i want my blonde chick to have a blonde hair thats what i thought the whole point of customized heroes was about... it really sucked that only campaign heroes were unique... i want every hero to have a personality... helmet is just lazy of them.. IMO
A so you were hopping for a character editor like the ones in NWN2 Dragon Age had, indeed would be cool to create all sort of heroes beside the ones delivered by the game to add them, so that when starting a map you could chose to make them available or not in taverns (all this while the models on the adventure map would look like the one you created), would be awesome but I think is for the wish list on a future expansion or a future installment.

Actually, the way that it seemed to me was that the "classic" heroes are kind of like the "guest" characters in Soul Calibur. There may be some loose explanation for how they got there, but they're not meant to be a part of the storyline - they're just there to be played for fun.
And I love that we can unlock new heroes as we play the game. That gives it a lot more of interest, makes the game worth playing more than once in a blue moon, and it makes the campaign actually worth finishing for once.
As for the horses...Personally, I'm glad. I thought it was weird having wizards riding elephants and warlocks riding lizards. Maybe, though, that's just because the elephant and lizard models looked silly in Heroes V.

If there were old heroes I would certainly hope that they would appear in the campaign in some way in addition to appearing in multiplayer; don't know how I feel like unlockables though.

Really? I kind of hope that they're not in the campaigns. Having unlockable features solely for use in multiplayer encourages players to play together, whether in hot-seat or over a network, and that's a good thing. Also, I feel like having Sandro as a key player in the campaign would be a little too much like crossover fanfic....

The homemade style of the video is willingly wanted, so that we are able to react quickly, adapt to your questions, publish it in less than 2 weeks and to dedicate this communication to you only. Indeed, we do not aim to talk to anyone else than to you, fans.
I don't think we need a super power bing bam boom video on the roof of a top notched building with amazing colours and sound to answer your questions. We felt it would be more adapted to have a discussion level with you through those videos.
For next one, we'll be sure to add subtitles from the start and Julien will do his best to have great understandable french accent. I thought french accent was cute, no? ^^

For what it's worth, I understood it.
I do agree that targeting videos at dedicated fans like us HC members is a better idea than making them for casual gamers who don't follow the series; they're only going to watch trailers and maybe gameplay at the most.

it doesnt have to be on the top of the building, theres a nice big screen in times square, that will be just fine i kid i kid
BTW as much as i appreciate the fact ur showing us attention, i would be happier to see a better marketing strategy on your side, coz we're all buying the game anyway, and u need to attract non fans.. thats the right way to make the homm game a success.. and we all here want that more than anything coz it will mean continuation
