I made this observation a while ago:

Air elemental

"Fierce winds that follow the dragon-veins along deep chasms, the cliffs of high mountains, or wide-open plains can collect and carry powerful motes of elemental energy."

Earth elemental

"More commonly called a Stonecrush by the general populations of Ashan, an Earth Elementals generally rises up from the mineral deposits close to dragon-veins, and the strongest ones are born in times of earthquakes and landslides.

Spring spirit

"Spring Spirits are major Water Spirits linked to the purest spiritual waters. They are found in the springs and waterfalls that are close to Water Dragon veins or nexuses."

Sounds like the spring spirit could be the water elemental, and not as in a re-hash of the model but the one and only water elemental just that itīs in a faction instead of a neutral. The mermaid does occupy the "water-slot" of the neutrals quite well anyway. This could then also be the case regarding the glory. Although itīs description doesnīt speak of any dragon veins. Ans IF there will be a water elemental as well I really doubt it will be a re-hash. It will be a summon water elemental spell in the game and I just donīt see why the developers would settle for letting almost every faction summon a unit that looks like a unit from a specific faction, perhaps we will be able to summon mermaids instead.

Basically what it says is that Spring Spirits are "superior" Water Elementals and likewise, that Glories are "superior" Light Elementals. While it doesn't explicitely say that Light Elementals and Glories will look alike (and same for Water Elementals and Spring Spirit), it's easy to suppose that it will be the case.

It's like them giving us Seraphims/Celestials and saying they are not Angels

I agree with you on the Cyclops ability, it just doesn't make sense, the ghoul suffers from very horrid abilities in his current form, they should have given the ghoul this ability + the devouring of corpses to replesnish life and maybe an extra turn.

It does make sense, read the ability properly "Impervious to pain" says that the cyclops has the capacity to continue fighting even after death....so the cyclops can have it's turn still, retaliate, block, etc. until the end of the round....

that sounds like a vicious abaility. that means you can't just kill the cyclops in one attack hoping to receive no retaliation.

but does it only trigger when the whole stack dies? I guessed it would allow cyclops you have just killed to retaliate anyway.

"Impervious to Pain" is so misleading.
It should be "Impervious to Death".

So many people think of the human body's ability to withstand damage as if they were counting hit points until death. It really doesn't work that way Someone who is determined or enraged can receive damage that could have killed another and still fight if only for a brief time. And frankly? If you were impervious to pain you wouldn't even recognize yourself, your limits would be way beyond what you have now.

I think, that is quite good idea,I mean we should look at the factions in H6 who worship one of the elemental dragons:
Heaven:worships the light dragon-> they have superior light elementals
Sanctuary:worship the water dragon->they have superior water elementals

The descriptions of the elementals all say, that there exist differences between the elementals of the same element and that some elementals are superior to the normal elementals

This could mean, that the factions who worship the other elemental dragon gods will also have some kind of superior elemental in their faction:
-Dungeon would have a special darkness elemental
-Fortress would have a special fire elemental
-Sylvan would have a special earth elemental(maybe the treants,I mean it was said, that earth elementals could also be made out of wood)
-Academy would have special air elementals(ok,not all wizards worship the god of air,but there are at least some)

Actually, there is a rare genetic condition that makes sufferers entirely impervious to pain. They normally have very poor life expectancy and those that do survive to adulthood uniformly have various missing body parts. Almost all bite off their own tongue as a child, for example.

Not the best ability then in reality

@Elvin: In case You were wondering, that's not funny.
Anyways, for me, the ability makes a little bit of sense, because there are more than one ways one can feel pain, but make it seem that he didn't. Like living with so much pain, that after a while you just accept that as a status quo, not really feeling it, except in the case of extra pain. How the ability puts off death, I can't yet fathom though. My current theory is, that Cyclopses are giant mega-giga Boromirs, somehow

Oh, but he felt the pain.

EDIT: Just read the ability description, and
"The creature's too dumb to know when it's already dead![Should've been 'When It's supposed to be dead']"
The Emperors of Falcon have a long history of underestimating the intelligence of the Orc nations [No wonder when the Cyclop is so dumb].
Their misunderstanding of the Cyclops capacity to continue fighting even after it has been killed is not due to a mental deficiency
but simply the fact that it is impervious to pain.[That doesn't make any sense!]

I liked it better when champion creatures didn't have the mentality of Lennie Small from 'Of Mice and Men'.

Oxymoron!

Quoted for the truth, there is no such thing as a male elf.

About the Cyclops ability, I think it means that Cyclopses only die (the number of them in the stack drops) at the end of a round, meaning that if a stack of 10 cyclopses takes enough damage to kill 4 of them, it will continue to function as a stack of 10 until the end of the round.
So it's retaliation is at the strength of 10, and if it hasn't had it's turn yet that round, it can still act with all 10 cyclopses, only at the end of the round does it drop to 6.
Which makes it an extremely powerful ability.

I believe the implied flavour of the ability is that their rage prevents them from noticing the fatality of their injuries and they will continue fighting as if nothing happened until finally death catches up with their rage.
Or possibly it's that they notice but are too enraged to care, call it: "The Boromir effect".
TLDR: Feeling pain and actively reacting to it are two completely different things.

Yeah, he reacted to them all right-kept on fighting just to show 'em. So, in a way, he reacted in a similar fashion Cyclopses do. And, after all, the "Boromir effect"() has a nice ring to it, You've got to admit that.

Now we're getting into the semantics really, I think it's pretty clear though what it's supposed to imply.
Anybody familiar with the Diehard feat from DnD(3rd edition)? it's like that.

Feeling the pain or not, caring or not caring, the point is, he just keep going because he's at that level of rage.
Rage being defined as a level of anger where one will do everything within one's power to end a perceived threat, this lasts until either the threat is removed or otherwise nullified or the individual experiencing the rage is incapacitated.
It just takes longer for a Cyclops to become physically incapacitated upon receiving enough damage to warrant it.
