well, I'm generally optimistic about sequels of big games. There's something wrong with DA2 though.

the demo really makes me feel like DA 2 will be less fun than Origins.
however, i feel that its a version that must have been from the alpha/beta phase....not nearly the finished product. some animations looked off the mark, the entire thing was buggy and so on. this gives me hope that the full game will live up to the hype.
btw there is a live webcast on the 5th of may check it out in the official DA 2 website.

In recent months I have been super exaggerated Heroes 6, so I have almost forgotten about Dragon Age 2. Attributes were interesting, now rogue has about 50% of defense against normal enemies all the time. There's new friend or metro rival with all partners, not knowing how it affects the characters.

Guys....big day tomorrow!!!
DA 2 releases in the U.S and for those who pre-order....plz share ur initial insights in this thread....i'm not getting my hands on the thing until 15th march... so ill look forward to ur posts here for the first hands on reviews of the game

just spent two hrs playing... horrible horrible... no aerial view ???? during the fight u can only see the character ur in control with.. u have to pause, switch companions just to see whats going on with them... just horrible... killed that aspect of the game

 u scare me man....what have they done to my beautiful Dragon Age???!!!
on a serious note....hows the animations? are they off the mark like in the demo or are they in sync with the actions? any other aspects u guys want to share?

animation is indeed better, character creation dissapointed me a bit coz its IMO lesser than DAO, the fighting is more "actionlike" (new word) but again its really annoying to me that i cant view the entire party at once (no aerial view is horrible). the classes are indeed cooler and a bit more realistic... thats about it.. i hope u'll enjoy it more than me

From the Demo, it looks to me like they tried to make it like a fantasy Mass Effect.

I think it looks way more fun than the first game anyway.
Not sure if I still have my Origin savegames though, will it make any real difference? Is the world affected noticeably?

At least, you can find codex entries mentioning your previous decisions. Also some characters speak of the Fereldan hero here and there

The combat speedup was quite nice. The removal of quite a bit of the awkward part of the combat(randomly staggering towards target, stop and then reattempt to run back and the repeat the process until the target either stops or the character it follows stops).
Playing as 2H warrior, the only thing that is starting to bother me is that I assume the DPS of the weapons are a lie.

I used to solve that problem by waving my two handed sword around while my mages destroy things and then pretending it was me.
Now I'm about level 15ish and kicking arse so I suppose it's alright.

Yes, it's very inconvenient to aim area spells without isometric view. Practically impossible to hit a target pretty far from you. By the way, if I understood correctly, 'friendly fire' works on Nightmare only. And now even warriors can hit party members when using their abilities. I find it very cool

I have searched this entire part of the forum and now am sure there is no tread about Dragon Age: Awakening. So here is most appropriate I think. And I have to ask something.
I have just finished playing Origins. Was very nice. But I have by mistake erased my saves. So now I don't want to play Awakening as I will be unable to import my choices I have made in the game and believe me I have done strange choices. My questions are these:
1- It is really the case that I won't be able to import my character and choices to Awakening? Won't I have the option to manually select in the beginning of the game that "I have done this instead of that in Origins, and chose this not that, etc."?
2- Is Awakening a long game like Origins? Am I missing a very big part if I don't play it? And is it good like Origins?
3- Is the story of Awakening relevant to Dragon Age 2? I imagine no one finished DA2, so I mean "so far"
4- In DA2 it is a new character we lead. So it won't be any importance that I don't have Origins save right?
