I've been reading the stats from the excel page, and they don't match, at all, those from the images...
which should I take as real?
Also, attack values don't appear

the excel page is something that someone wrote.
the pictures are taken from the latest beta version.
i think the answer is clear.
the O N L Y way that the excel would be right would be IF the values IN the beta are wrongly written (possible). but from what i have seen they could not have tested so easily the magic def for example and the excel's values are too high.
My guess? mistake in copying the numbers for various reasons. for example copying the numbers while the creatures were WITH a hero thus getting a bonus to their stats.
EDIT: also, the official (?) excel we have agrees with the screenshots. I am not posting it because people have it for 2-3 days already and they didn't post it (at least i didn't see it). so if Elvin is polite enough he can post it here

Man, I keep looking at these Speed stats and some just make no sense to me. Spd 5 Praetorians in particular stick out as kind of an offender. Why is the super-tanky, damage-absorbing defensive unit that fast?

In order to be able to single-handedly crush the poor enemy elite units

first of all why does it seem "fast" a speed 5 creature? it seems still slow to me... they actually have the second slowest speed in the game!
In any case it seems to me that in H6 they tried to take into consideration other movements also other than attacking. for example, the crossbowmen are pretty "fast". i think it is because they need to take cover far when blocked. the same with sentinels. to go and defend another unit.

Some pretty pictures of elementals:
Quote:
Quote: unfortunately you cannot copy from reality. In "reality" no vampire would ever die from a peasant's fork!
Bram Stoker disagrees. If Count Dracula fell to a bowie knife..
It also took a kukri decapitating him... actually it kinda seemed that stuff through the heart simply incapacitated vampires, and the beheading was more important....

Just to make something clear. The defense value on Vangelis' pics is not the reduction % that appears in other tooltips (in fact there should not be any %
What you see as stats are :
Grey sword = average physical damage (min damage + max damage)/2
Grey shield = Might Defense (should be without %)
Blue Flame = average magic damage (min damage + max damage)/2
Blue shield = Magic Defense (should be without %)
Thundertitan's pics on the other hand are showing the % values

what thundertitan's poics have to do? they are the same as mine actually. we are talking about the pics and the excell. and why shouldn't there be a %? it is that way

No they're not the same. He posted the fixed tooltip during combat. The shield values he has are the actual damage absorption values.
Your screenshots are tooltips showing the defense value, they should NOT have % (it's a bug). If you check in-game, units will have totally different defense % in combat
There's a difference between these values
And these ones
Your screenshots should all be read as this :

Ok, open your game and check by yourself ... There is MIGHT DEFENSE and there is MIGHT RESISTANCE (% absorption) and same with MAGIC.
My 2nd screenshot is from the recruitment screen not from the army.

bottom line is that it is abnormal to have two different readings for the same creature. I guess we will have to wait and see
EDIT: you must be right. after carefully looking at it, it must be as you say it because for every defense point there is 2% resistance. on the other hand it is funny/weird how sometimes it is 5=11% and 4=7%

Well, it's not abnormal, there's just no consistency in what value they show on the tooltips (obviously we should always see what there's on your pics without the % )
The % value can be calculated via a formula found by Alexrom66 from Heroic corner I'm posting the explanation on Archangel Castle atm and when I'm done there, I'll do it here ^^

it IS abnormal! it should have both values in one card. it is not normal that we have to check either in the recruiting screen, or the town screen without the hero, or in the town screen ON the hero, or in the battlefield in order to find each time the correct reading!
also, isn't the formula 1 point = 2% ?

aren't they trying to make speed differences between creatures as low as possible? ok, it ranges from 4 to 8, but :
speed 4 : 10 creatures
speed 5 : 30
speed 6 : 26
speed 7 : 9
speed 8 : 4
more than 2/3 of the creatures either have speed 5 or 6.
most creatures with speed 8 are shooters
I notice the damage ranges are very small this time too.

in my opinion it is positive that most creatures are "slow". this way we will not have balance issues with half armies falling in turn 1.
as for the shooters, as i said before, it is probably because they want to make them take cover faster this time and i 100% agree. Even in real life (real life been army, movies etc ) shooter are the ones that need to be flexible, fast and hiding better!

yeah, but not as fast as cavalry
having a bigger battlefield might fix it as well, and you could have more differences between creatures speed. like in H4 for example
