Witches were sometimes able to learn Necromancy when leveling, but this was changed in later versions. Non-necropolis heroes can learn Necromancy from Witch Huts or Scholars if the mapmakers allow it.

So it depends on version. In WOG Warlocks were able to learn necromancy when level-up.
In SOD seems they can do it in Universities.
I didn't see witches gaining necromancy, but seems this is possible also.

Where did you get such information? Universities shouldn't allow any class to get banned skill.

It's true, however, that when you don't have e.g. advanced Earth Magic, but expert Water Magic, Magic Arrow can be more useful than Implosion. So choosing Wisdom isn't actually a necessity for every hero, sometimes it can be a waste of a slot.

I was talking about level-up, since that what I understood from Hobbit first message.

Of course, in the editor you can give a Knight necromancy if you want too...

No mate, thats totally wrong point. I wouldn't of course jump of the bridge, but I wouldn't either turn into a newbie just for a sake of multiplayer originality in gameplay O.o

During my whole multiplayer career against non-noobs via Gameranger I haven't seen ANY single time sombody used Chain Lightning or Implossion in battle against me. (well, there was one time when my enemy got extremely lucky and accumulated about 35 power with Galthran in 2,5 weeks, legion of skellies + Implossion was nasty then, he visited a big part of Jebus desert and got some nice battles + awesome arties) Why? Their mana/efficiency ratio is very bad. Some spells like Sacrifice might be useful, but still that happens in 1 battle out of 100 while you need Offense or Armourer everytime. Benefits of slow or blind are just far greater than high level spells. Adventure spells are of course always banned, because they are simply imbalanced and no-skill.  

Of course that's just talking, I would like to play vs every Wisdom-whiner here.

Macron1, you realize that some here provokes you because they know you like having the last word in EVERY argue, then they will report to moderator asap and finally get you penalized?

Seeing that the thread again goes of-top we can expect penalties soon, would be a much better idea to continue the excellent work you do on VCMI and ignore other subjects.

I checked right now current WOG/SOD installation. Warlocks don't get Necromancy in univercities.
But I strongly can say I played  for a long time a version of HMM3, where they learned Necromancy at least in univercities.
Now i'm based on HMM3 Gold Edition.

UPD Here it also says that Warlocks have 1/112 chance to learn necromancy (for Example, Resistance is 0 - blocked)

I couldn't find such HMM3 version in my discs (my not gold SOD is not installing under Win8.1, but on wog forum there are people saying that this Necromancy feature was in SOD (one of Russian language versions):
