That's bad. They should really release the editor to the public....

2 Questions:

1 - I want to make gating instant. I modify Data8/gamedata/Inferno.dcs/ability "Gating1"

const Turns = 0;

InfernoGating(1, TargetUnit, GetTarget(1), Turns, Percentage * (1.0+BonusMultiplier*0.01));

But gating still happens next turn .

2 - Instead of repacking is there a way to make a new package with only the files I modify?

I think I saw parts listed somewhere but it does not hurt another post.

In your Profile data found in my documents you can change the following...

<SkipOpening>true</SkipOpening>

A question on all the moders

There are these models in the game files
Akasha, Changbo and Hiroshi

So how hard would it be, to replace the curent Might naga hero models with these ones?

And I the same could be done with Yumy and Katsue models for female magic heroes...

I think that whould not be sucha problem. There normal onmap working models. You can operate with Yume on the hearts of nightmare scenario map. So I hope it can be done.

you need to replace all the pattach, pdie etc animation to that of hiroshi etc..its easy but tedious. u can also add effects to their attacks. note that hiroshi don't have die animation.



did someone successfully added new units to upgrade? like sun raider-> new unit (tier 3)..

A question for the modders, if anyone would be kind enough to answer. How would I go about swapping out the models for Seraphs and Celestials for the models of Uriel and Michael (respectively)? Would it even be possible to do that without changing anything else?

Well since I want to swap Heroes models with heroes models its no that much oif a problem if the do not have a Die animation is it?

Thanks for the link,  I have 1.52 installed, do you think the files are still as you listed?   If not I'll look at them.  From the procedure it sounds like all the all the ,orc files need to be in the folder for them to be edited and saved correctly.  

One more question does VI have a ingame editor console like V did?

I haven't updated my game to 1.5.2 yet, so I'm not sure about the data files. You may need to edit the data file with the biggest number. It's quite easy to check, just give an unit 3000 Hp and run the game to check.

You don't have to place all the orc files in the same folder. Just copy the one you want to edit to the folder you place orc2zip & zip2orc.

HVI has an editor but I haven't tried it so I don't know much about it. ^^
P.s. After editing the files, just drag them to the data.zip file then drag the zip file to zip2orc and then move the new data file to your install folder.

Ex. To edit Ability.xml

1/ Copy data12.orc to orc2zip-zip2orc folder.
2/ Drag data12.orc to orc2zip. (The program will create a new file data12.zip)
3/ Delete data12.orc in the orc2zip-zip2orc folder
4/ Go to orc2zip-zip2orc\Data12\Ability, edit the file Ability. Save the file once you have finished.
5/ Copy the whole Ability folder to the orc2zip-zip2orc folder.
6/ Drag the whole Ability folder to data12.zip.
7/ Drag data12.zip to zip2orc. (The program will create a new file data12.orc)
8/ Move the new data12.orc to your install folder, replacing the original data12.orc

Done

Not knowing where you are from, you do well with English.

I don't understand the ability part of the game since I just started it, So I'll edit the map(Bridge Too Far) since that was the first I played and got my ass kicked royaly in threee attemts.

I have scenarios (in Data7.orc) and I'm going to try to emulate you ideas and see if it works.  I guess the game editor will work.

I'm working on recoloring all creatures in H6 so that they don't all look like color clones of each other, but instead look more distinct from one another like in the old games. Pearl Maiden was an attempt to translate H3 Medusa into H6. My recolored Sanctuary cores in action.
