MITHRIL SMELTER
(Author: Salamandre)

DOWNLOAD (161 Ko)

Requires WoG Revised mod and priority over it. Replaces forgotten shrines option with mithril mine. Gives daily 1/2/3 mithril bars, regardless the difficulty selected. Has its own mithril.dat which you can modify.

Okay, I enabled both Wog Revised and Mithril mods, Mithril mod was on the top of the list, so i assume it had the first priority, i placed a forgotten shrine on a test map, selected mithril smelter from wog options, yet the test map still displayed a forgotten shrine, it was not functional and the map behaved like it was a decorative object.

Bah, is not like that it works. Forgotten shrines replace regular shrines, and this is what mithril smelter does too. If you place a forgotten shrine on map, it will be a dead object. Start any random, check mithril smelter then enjoy.

Then, if i understand correctly, this is for random maps only and we can't choose mithril smelter on the map editor? Thanks for the hard work Salamandre.

You can choose the smelter in editor, it will work. It is only forgotten shrines which were disabled.

The script in itself can be used for both random and custom maps.

I just discovered a bug with the henchman script, dont now if it's specific to the new version but since the latest version of the game can be considered as the wog Revised mod, I will put it here anyway.  If the henchmen is a 2 hex unit, on town defense he overlaps with the castle wall. Also it would be really better if the arrow towers recognized the level of the henchman, they keep shooting at the ballista while the henchmen shoots away all your town defense. I know the AI of arrow towers are beyond moronic but with henchmen script they take the meaning of suicidal to a whole new level.

The first problem is easy to fix, replace in wog revised/data/s

Henchman

If siege battle, it will place the henchman properly, I tested with all war machines and double hex creatures.

Changes:
[...]
!!BA:S?n; *check if fort/citadel/castle
!!BU&w118>-1/w119=1/y-2>-1/n=0:Sw118/1/30/1/-1/0; no fort, no change
!!BU&w118>-1/w119=1/y-2>-1/n>0:Sw118/1/31/1/-1/0; if fort, hex 31
!!BU&w118>-1/w119=1/y-2>-1/n=0:E30/?v7208;
!!BU&w118>-1/w119=1/y-2>-1/n>0:E31/?v7208;

For the second, I don't think there is solution.

A little mod I made for personal use when testing WoG Revised, as AI just plays dumb and slow. Nothing complex as Phoenix mod, but a little boost for those who play regular randoms:

Fast AI (98 Ko)

* Gives 30k gold on first day to every AI.
* Set all obelisks to "visited" for every AI.
* AI movement will increase daily by half tile, but no more than 50 tiles (5000 mvm points). Late recruited AI heroes will start with the bonus, to help leveling faster
* AI heroes are marked, human can't hire them if dead.
* Every day 1 of the week, it places extra creatures in all built dwellings, builds guild up to 2nd level and first three upgraded dwellings in all AI towns (if not build yet). Extra resources too.
* Every AI hero gains a random +1 stat every day and a bonus to his overall experience of %25, until level 50. He is given Air, Earth, Archery, Intelligence and Resistance at expert level, all his mana is refueled daily too. He also receives slow, haste and shield.
* At level 15 an AI hero is automatically granted with town portal.
* Every day 1 of the week, every AI player having at least one level 15 hero is given 1/3 chance to expand by receiving a free town, randomly picked from available neutral towns. Human player will receive a warning message and a view over the new town acquired.

Tested on XXL tesserat template and was rather balanced, AI heroes were at similar levels to mine when meet.

Bersy, I have a suggestion, an info box in the mods manager like this:

I don't know if this is a simple task or hard to do, but it would really come in handy since mods are increasing in number each day and it's getting hard to remember what they exactly do when selecting them. The info box can also be used for warnings about conflicting mods.

P.S. An update to Wog Revised mod including the henchmen fix and "Gnolls Marauders first strike" corrected as "Gnoll Marauders First Strike"  would also be nice.

Yes, having infos would be just perfect. I would also love to be able to modify window size, when having many mods we must scroll up and down.
Not sure SyDr has the time for, but at least we can ask him.

Mod Manager

It will read from read me.txt, if any in the mod. So far, some of them have it, but not all. Window is re-sizable now.

well, many thanks to SyDr then.  btw, i am about to play your new computer player boost mod a little and it seems like  a fun challenge. however the obelisk feature may make it literally impossible for the human player to get the grail.

Hey everyone,

In my current ERA installation there's a script fix in place for the emerald tower, so that it can be visited once weekly.

It seems this didn't make it to the WoG updates.

I like the other updates, but I would like to have the weekly emerald tower.

Does anyone know where this fix is located, so that I can put it back into the updated scripts?
