As usual, I would be interested, but the next tourney starts about the same time as my finals do, so I'd likely have to forfeit in no time.

Most definitely not, I can only squeeze them in on Thursday/Friday/Sunday afternoons/evenings (CET), and that only if I manage to do my homework in time. With exams coming up, I doubt if I can afford dueling anyway. This weekend though I'll still risk a couple if I can find opponents...

Congrats Elvin, obviously your well-renowned luck saved you there, as I personally think the guardian set's morale bonus was indeed better than your offensive build from before

Since poly brought it up, do you think that artifact factor is too strong and should be minimized? Meaning, turn it to 1 relic, 1 major and 2 minor or 2 major and 4 minor as it is the relics that introduce the most imbalances.
Keep in mind that the next version will have a significantly weaker army(14 champions compared to 22) so high spellpower relics might be too strong. I have in mind lvl 25 heroes, week 7 armies and lvl 1 reputation.

Well I'd still like to duel monday even if Poly can't be there. It can be on the last tourney's map if 2.0 ain't out by then.

Fact is if you take out too many artifacts it'll end up being a normal duel mode. I would prefer the artifacts kept in. The army sizes should be balanced around the artifacts rather than the other way around imo

Oh you know, I forgot to mention, my match against Locksley has been up all day. My match against Elvin should be coming up this night, when I go to bed. Link to the playlist. Lock's duel starts at part 21, Elvin's will at 24. But you don't want to see that one. It was a little boring. I mean both were crushes, but in the first one a tears was crushing, and that takes time and good tactical thinking. And luck. When blood crushes people, it just crushes people in the most direct and straightforward way possible. And that makes for sad matches. At least that's my opinion.

Due to a technical issue there is a chance that I will be unable to participate in the second round. I have been planning to get a new pc but that's not going to happen for at least a month so my best hope is my technician finding an affordable solution in the coming days. But do not let this concern you, the tourney will proceed as planned.
Here is the version 2.0 prototype with tweaked growth, lvl 1 reputation and access to 2 major, 4 minor artifacts. Based on my previous testing this version should be fairly balanced but some extra testing would be appreciated as I cannot play the game without my screen freezing. This is of course not final, just a workable version to get a feel of how it plays out.
EDIT:
Watching the demonist vs reaper duel and.. you said no to the cloak of warding after complaining about the lack of mass magic defense booster spells?  That's +10 to magic defense man! Thinking about it, this and a mass weakness would really reduce my army's damage potential.
No toughness II either? It's kind of a must against blood casters.

I watched my première on youtube today and it is as bad as I thought it would be, but there wasn't anything on TV today so perhaps I should thank you for uploading it anyway Good to see that both of us losers wanted to test strategies we weren't experts in, it woud be boring if people played 100 % safe all the time. Next time the experiments will work.
Re: the demonist vs reaper duel, maybe that Earth III boosted regeneration of yours would have been a better counter to agony than mass dispel? Or are the differences between damage and heal too big?

I also had a quick look on the new map and it's probably balanced. Selecting bonus creatures feels more important now. No relic arties is no big issue since armies are smaller, and the lower reputation makes armies slightly more important in relation to spells which is good. But perhaps it is too similar to the current map. Since you seem to want to downscale the whole thing you could have lowered hero levels as well to make it more different compared to the first map. Perhaps level 15-20 and maybe a limited number of level three spells/abilities via the rules. That would make them more like important secret weapons and not something you expect to have all the good stuff from all the time. Lower levels would probably mean that armies should be even smaller too. Just a thought.

A perceptive observation. I have considered it but truth is I don't want to lower the hero level, I kind of like the current skill-spell balance and I'd probably miss the lvl 4 gauge. Though a lvl 3 cap would probably be more balanced We'll see, I am not discarding the possibilities. Throughout the season we'll be sure to try some different setups as well as objectives.
Regeneration cannot match agony in an online match as agony triggers on both attack and retaliation. Maybe for a single unit if you can manage to keep it in a protected place where it can defend uninterrupted but mass regeneration is just too weak to counter mass agony. It's too weak for duels in general.
