I'm just being reasonable since I've been through it myself. I had a seriously crappy beginning because I wanted to play orcs and exchanged seals for gold to get the starter deck. This delayed my second box a LOT and I had a serious amount of bad losses. Hell, at the time there were some seriously broken decks that everything else you see today looks tame by comparison. So.. cry me a river 
Either you decide it's not worth your time or you do what you can till it gets fixed. I recommend the latter but that's just me.

Well From all the FTP games I play and have played I think DoC is the least Pay to win I have experienced.
Why?
Even if you pay for the game, it won't give you anything that you could not gain whitout the pay.
All cards, all features and all consumables are accesable for all players.
And even if you pay for the game, you don't get any specail advantages. Its still a maner of luck what you get
And there is a deck against everything.

I had some free time lately so I managed to climb back up to 1200 ELO.
Unfortunately I'm still missing 2 DA's to round up my deck, and feel bad for not taking 1st Tournament place achievement back in the times when it was much easier to obtain 
Now I'm onto saving seals for new expansion, in hopes that there will be some nice stronghold creatures in there.

I'm at 1300 with Crag Hack I'll see how far I can take him and then switch to Kelthor with an aim at 1500. Wish me luck!

Generally - bad luck, bad hands, worse mulligan etc. xd

Bleeping stallers, the little dipsnows flood me with 'zzz' via the chat when it's their fault we're in the 12+ round, and I still manage 1.5 minute turns. Are there any chatblock options?

Silly noobs.. I'm afraid not poly. I also have some bad news on the elo farmers, the devs will not fix this yet and the addon will come on 28th May. Apart from general balancing, the next expansion will focus on making the use of high cost creatures more profitable. Amen to that

Well there's monsoon for that.. But generally kensei are not meant to last, you usually deploy them for surprise attacks or finishers.

I know that, but it feels cheap when 1 card cripples me for the entire duel. I was actually pleased to see creatures like Kenshi with 4 hp precisely because of Honor's finisher nature, but come on, even the upgrade has 4 when a well-aimed Fireball can render Honor moot?

Deliberately lowering ELO to fight -and win - against weaker opponents with weaker decks overall. I just can't believe someone has such low ELO with such a deck, barring ELO-manipulation, but given that I'm a n00b with limited game knowledge, I'd like a second opinion before whining on official channels.
PS: I don't mind losing as such, only losing against decks that clearly outclass mine by a wide margin. Players of similar ELO should have decks of comparable power.

Ah, I thought it was a tourney since the ELOs were so low.
He could have just bought seals and money. That way you can aim for good deck from the start.
