had to delete 83 objects and add them back in the text file, as i stupidly didn't add them under "creature generator 1". but i'm making progress.
-------
still working on the specs for the objects. took a break and fixed all of the defs with the tropical fruit trees. they blend much better now, and the fruit doesn't pop out like those christmas bud-light commercial light bulbs anymore.
-------
man, this forum is running so slow, i almost gave up posting an update.

still working on the text file. just finished with all of the mines(and had to replace a sawmill that had old graphics, not sure how i missed that before).

We need some eye candies to comment, for most of us technical things like problems with naming is not that interesting, while screenshots are more appealing

Keep up good work

you'll get all the eye candies you want, when the patch is released. i only post screens when i've worked on something recently. i've been focusing on finishing the text file, and that's not exactly eye candy meant for screenshots.

i'm not giving up(not sure why would you think that?), it's just tedious and time-consuming work; filling out the specs of an objects.txt file for 4000+ objects.

some more eye-candy that i just made(have to take breaks from finishing the text file, or i start going insane).

i made beach mountains from the swamp mountains:

edit: image removed.

then i played with some rocks i had, to blend with the new beach mountains. i also made a new abandoned mine(i'll make the others later), and a new pirate dwelling(made from the HotA teams' pirate cave). i added all of these to the new upload, so they'll all be available once it comes out:

edit: image removed.
------------
knocked another chunk out of the text file. also made another adventure cave using the new mountains.

I read through the pages of this thread and I prepared some questios for you, fred.

1.How is the stripping/nudifying process going on?Is it still on your to/do list?
(I saw the mermaids and this reminded me of Uma Thurman as Venise in one Munhausen film)(some females can be with large breasts, others with smaller/flat ones)

2.Is your first map ready/what is your progess with it?

the nudification process has been put on hold. i'm currently trying to:

1. fix the passability and specs of the text file, so that i can release the updated patch. i typed up the "thanks-goes-to" text that will be included, this morning. i'm working backwards, i know.

2. compiling a list of things that will need scripted, to be put out seperately, as an add-on to the patch.

3. completing an ocean map called "war in the emerald isle"(hence the focus primarily being beach and ocean objects as of late).

as for a map release, i'm working on that too. i have 2 maps that are done, but need tweaked in order to be released as a set of 3, as a campaign(the first map that i was going to release doesn't suit my tastes). the ocean map is going to replace the first map "above and below".

the map set will be released much further along. the patch will be first; the scripts-patch for the objects will come after; then i plan on making some tutorials for the object patch(a test map was requested last time, but tutorials will be easier to follow); and after that will come the maps(because i will have to recreate them in order for them to go with the patch).
---------
got another big chunk done. i'm now nearly halfway, which is more like 3/4 done, since a 4th of it is terrain patches, and i don't have to screw with their passability or specs, because i input the specs when i added them.
---------
have 580 defs left to finish in the text file. got to the nude prisoners, and found that while trying to reposition the front-facing upright ones, that they get screwed, pixel-wise, and all face the same way(just like the issue i had so long ago with the nude pixies). first, i tried deleting and then recreating the defs using the existing frames, and that got rid of the completely screwed palette issue. but that didn't solve the same-direction facing issue, so i now have to go back and rename all the frames, and rebuild the defs. i tried using grayface's new h3deftool, after fixing the settings in the .ini file; and still, no dice. became furious and started screaming in rage and beating myself(because if i break the computer, i can't finish the job). so now that my rage is out of the way, i can get back to work. renaming the snowing frames, and rebuilding the snowing defs; all so that their passability will be more sensible.

what i want to know is, why didn't i have this problem before? why only now that i'm repositioning the snowing frames for better passability does everything go haywire? mothersnower.

i'm not that strong, yet. but i'm training.

------------
ok, have 421 defs left to finish in the text file. i renamed the frames and remade the 16 nude prisoner defs that i had to do; the others work just how they should, so i don't have to screw with them. i'm on the swamp objects atm, which is the bulkiest of the folders; but i won't have them all to do, as i already fixed the mushroom defs, and possibly others.
-------
i think i'm done with the text file. i'll test it all tonight to make sure. next i have to compile a list of objects to script, and their specs.

if i could just get a reliable computer to access reliable internet, i'd be a happy man. instead, i had to restart this piece of junk(not mine), and lost the link and the screen all in one go, that i was about to post in a post edit. so, 2nd try:

WARNING. THIS RELEASE IS NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE WITH THE OLD VERSION. IF YOU HAVE USED ANY OLD VERSION OF FREDOBJ IN THE PAST AND BUILT MAPS FROM THEM, THEN YOU MUST EXTRACT UNDER A DIFFERENT "HEROES" FOLDER(AND GAME), OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WORK.

here is the new patch upload. i already posted all the screens i'd post, except for a resource screen:

edit: image removed.

enjoy, hc. i'll be making a tutorial thread on how to build different environments using these objects, later. and i'm still working on the scripting list.

edit: updated. fixed some objects and added a better Readme.

*in case anyone needs the old patch for their maps, it is here

We have a problem, in wakeofgods.org, there is already a Fred Objects.exe, this one will be FREDOBJ.exe. A bit confusing, maybe rename both patches to reflect continuity or release date?
