maybe after a bit. i slept 12 or 13 hours yesterday; i should be good to go for today, despite some minor cognitive setbacks.
--------
just got back from axolotl's deviantart page. he is SUCH a bad-ass!

seeing work like his, makes me want to get a degree in computer graphic design, for real. who the hell cares if i can't find a job afterward?! i can make stuff and sell it online to fund my heroes modding!

-----------

could anyone who has contact with the DF2 forum, let axolotl know that i sent him an IM regarding sounds i made for one of his creatures?

thanks in advance.

i have a question: i just replaced the peasant with a much stronger creature(fixed all the stats, too). how do i fix the issue of a hero visiting it's object and automatically getting them to join, instead of having to fight creatures before being able to recruit, as it should be?

I believe you must script the dwelling for that.

well, damn. thought that creature was all the way ironed out(i spent most of the day sunday collecting various sounds for the creature, then spent most of today making the sounds for the creature. it's already scripted and everything, without issues). can't catch a break for snow.

Heroes Of Might & Magic III: Carribean Vacation

Fred79, I used Hero Of Light set of HMM3 buttons rid of background things. But yours edit of "Armageddon Blade" is cleaner, I hope you manage to clean all menu DEFs sometimes.

lol @ homm3: carribean vacation.

i like that screen. it's pleasant(and not too far from the kind of detail i like to create in my maps), and it's a good reminder for the future: that i'm going to eventually open the ocean up(create the illusion of depth with "transparency" and underwater scenery and objects). homm3 isn't just going to be primarily 3 levels; by the end, i want at least an underwater world, and a sky/space/planeswalker world. the only thing that limits me is my imagination, and what's possible with scripting/light hardcoding. much of what i want can be done by graphics alone. the scripting and light hardcoding will be finishing touches, to make sure everything works how it should; if i need it.

anyway, i'm really glad to post my first in-game screen with the actual buttons(yaaay!):

all of the menu stuff will be available when i release my 3 maps, as i'll be releasing my lods and everything else as well. i may release a patch update beforehand, tho.

i'm using the custom skin templates made by bes. the link is the last one in the op. i had to make some minor tweaks, for my own specs.

This screen is taken from WoG 3.59 alpha. It is possible to make all-in-one screen campaign buttons under ERA II?

the templates in the link are for era. any buttons that are missing you can make yourself. just cut them out and apply them to the template in the link; should work fine. it may require some tinkering to get the edges right, tho.

I mean, maybe you would figure out how to make four working campaigns buttons (RoE, AB, SoD, WoG) in one screen in your mod!

sod isn't available in wog. i think it was the one that wog replaced, since it's buttons were formerly sod buttons(correct me if i'm wrong, anyone).

creating graphics is relatively easy*, but creating graphics that have to be hardcoded into the game is a horse of a different color. i don't have that kind of know-how.

*on a related note; i'm having a snow of a time with one button in particular: the multiplayer button(i gave up yesterday, and am returning to it tonight). every time i try to make a def from that evil snower, the deftool keeps screwing the frames. not just ONE frame, but BOTH frames. i've tried everything to fix it(every which way to make the button frames, every which way to make the goddamn def itself, even deleting the old path values in the "h3deftool.ini" file), and STILL the goddamn frames won't stop snowing up every time i make the def. i found that the deftool sometimes has issues with previously multi-layered images that were translated into rgb color. the error is in the translation of the frame from rgb to index color, via the tool. this only happens with certain frames. usually, i can just save the image as indexed color, then resave it as rgb to fix it. with this button, i can't; because it totally jacks the graphic(whites are black, blended shadows are much more pronounced).

i may attempt to fix this issue using XNView (the program that was mentioned before by you in the era thread), since i'm not having any luck whatsoever every other way.

In WoG 3.59 alpha there's SoD campaigns available in WoG (as screen shows) and I though it's just a copy-able matter of ERM (which is black magic for me).

you could ask bersy, as he's in charge of era 2. i haven't the slightest how to hardcode/reverse-engineer anything.

-----
edit: ok, tried xnview. didn't help. it looks like i'm going to have to tweak the original graphic from the custom skin mod manually, before even attempting to make a button from it. it's always something...

Awesome, BTW a huge THANKS for your terrains, I love experimenting with them, at this point, they are the main reason why I chose to use wog editor over another one.

cool, man. you're very welcome.

i'm still coming up with cool terrain patch/terrain patch/object combos, myself. i'm finding stuff and ideas to fill in the blanks left behind in the map conversions i did for the campaign(which won't be a campaign anymore, but i'm still working on the 3 maps as if they were).

i also just added two new terrain patch sets to my lineup this morning(that'll be a part of the patch later). and i still have the remaining bone field and spider web defs to cut out manually(i'm hesitant to do anything substantial with only 3 hours sleep in the past 48 hours; i found errors in a couple maps where i had been working in a near-sleep, and was drifting off while dragging objects across the screen or multiple-clicking the screen and inadvertently setting some obelisks to "a part of the ground"[before waking up and blearily saving the maps after making unknown errors like a dumbass], where i had to dig through layers of terrain patches to find them and fix them, then put everything back where it was).

really nice screen Fred!

I wonder, is it possible to make it animated? even a little, would make the game more stunning.

Can't wait to see what you did! I have so much on my mind these days, I'm working on a SW mod map and it's simply huge, takes a lot of time and I had some other stuff in my life...

Anyway, if you need a tester or a second opinion before you release it, I can help if you wish! I'm no expert H3 player, but I can test it for sure.

i lowered the contrast for them on purpose, as i wanted them to appear like a part of the screen until they're moused over. i don't know how to add shadows or highlights, tho(not how the buttons usually are, anyway. the way i have them now, their contrast only increases when moused over; which isn't bad, but i'd like to give them a little more pep without being gaudy.

you wouldn't have the base versions for the multiplayer button, would you? because i'm having issues making a button with it's graphic.

finally got around to making my first waterfall mountain(after finding a great starting graphic in my collection of downloaded stuff last night while looking for arcane tower material). i trimmed the unnecessary from the graphic, then blended it with swamp mountains. obviously looks better animated(and it's repeating too, with no missing frames. thanks to whoever had it in one of their releases[i think the original graphic was in someone's mod]. i couldn't remember or find the source again once i moved it to my waterfall animations folder).
