The boomship is awesome, if not only because of the artwork I know it is an Iron Man rip off, but man I love it.

How are you feeling the artwork?
Too many goblins, but really great none the less. Way better than Witchwood

The art is cool.

For an expansion with almost completly new lore and characters they really nailed it with the themes. Each class has it's own scientific identity (even if some cards aren't that exciting, like Priest ones).

I like how the community works. They always scream nerfs, powercreep, OP etc, yet they're praising the cards in TBP, which we can clearly identify as really powerful. Like I said the devs let loose here, and we might be in for a really unbalanced meta. Take the new Druid card - Juicy Psychomelon. This is probably the most powerful tutor card I've ever seen in a card game. It doesn't matter if it's slow. You basically draw your whole win condition. And you can take two of those cards to raise the probability. Aviana, Kun, Malygos, Hadronox you name it. I think they've made Druid even more opressive. Atm if you won't kill him until turns 9-10, you're probably screwed...

My excitement for this expansion is starting to fade. New Druid 7 mana epic card Dreampetal Florist reduces a minion in your hand by 7 mana!!! Ok... Like Emperor Thaurissan but instead this specifically targets a minion. It is not like you can decide what minions you draw right? Haha just kidding, as a Druid you can tutor the espensive minion cards you need! With Psychomelon you get to tutor BOTH this card and any 9 mana card as well.

We will see how this plays out in the end, but this is disappointing... Hard to get excited for other classes when all the goodies go to Druid.

Well, meta will tell in the end, but the fact is Team 5 continuous their infamous policy of favoring some classes over the others. There are theories that some classes are simply their favourites, but what I have in mind is that they don't try to balance each class per expansion, but rather they have this straightforward way of doing things - make 2-3 classes OP, give some fillers to others. They like to explain it with something in the lines of "we were planning this way back since expansion x, this was planned outside of the current meta", when people say they are making a dominant class even stronger for instance. Which is wrong way of doing things. I know planning an expansion takes time, but it's a digital game, they can change things in a matter of a week. An example is how they recently changed the art on Omega Defender. People were signaling that the art is confusing for a non-mech minion that looks like a Mech, so they changed it (go look for yourselves if you didn't know).

I still think, with all the good work they are doing, that they treat Hearthstone like their own playground, without concern to the majority of worried voices. I know it's hard to be constructive with so many different opinions and even harder to forsee how a meta will shape. But sometimes one can really think they are doing this like a bunch of kids who first do some mischief, and then enjoy seeing the after-effects...

PS: Mecha C'Thun is meme. What a letdown. Team 5 always mentions that there are people who like to play their games for fun and memes, but what fun comes from 1600 dust worth of Legandary which will only work in 0,01% of decks, especially if your a F2P player. If Mecha C'Thun will work in any deck, which is doubtful, it will probably only work in expensive decks... It might be good for people like Kripp who have 100000 dust in their reserves, but not for casual people...

Yeah I am pretty sure you are right, they shower under represented classes with OP cards like Priest with insane cards to make that class viable in the past. Midrange Shaman was made OP before that, dear god THAT era was awful

One good thing is that Warrior has been weakest for a long time and now it is getting some love. Other good thing is that I have 5000g saved up so I can get a nice start to the new expansion

Except I am gonna get that Mecha C'Thun... that card is simply trash.

I see in a tradition of creating "tribe-killers", E.M.P. Operative is another card that won't be used. Ever. Just like Dragonslayer or Light's Champion before it. At this point I'm wondering if they make this type of cards just to have a clear conscience...

Omega Mind seems interesting on the other hand. I wonder how this "Omega" effects will ultimately play out.

EMP Operative is their safety valve, and I actually believe it could be played in case Mechs are too abundant on the ladder. It destroys a mech, not silences it like Light's Champion which was crap. The stats should be 3/4 though, like Vilespine Slayers.

Luna's Pocket Galaxy, omg. When I saw it my eyes went wide, I was gasping for air. Now that is a LEGENDARY spell! loved the art and the possibilites behind it. Then I realized how slow this is. It is like Mistcaller had no body at all, and it was unplayable already. Or it works and it is completely broken because of the OTK comboes you can pull off are unlimited lol. 1 mana Alex + pretty much anything really. I wonder if it will work in Elemental Mage, where I would love to try it... losing board for playing this might not be worth it though.

Yeah, but to be played it actually needs to be decent card on it's own. Thsi one is not. A tech card won't be played simply played, even if the meta "demands it". It happened before, there were only a handful of tech cards that were played like Golkkaka Crawler simply because it was a decent minion on it's own. Rest were tried (like Eater of Secrets or Kezan Mystic), but ultimately discarded as people figured it's a waste of a slot, which can be used for a more consitent card otherwise (like a simple removal which works on any minion, not just a single tribe). Besides, it's not like suddenly all decks will be Mech oriented...

Minion said:

Yes, this seems strong. Looks good as a come-back mechanic, but probably will be used in Exodia style decks mostly. At 7 mana, without draw, or good cards in hand (btw does it work on hand also?) this is a tempo loss and does not do much on it's own. Also remember Mage isn't usually a big minion oriented class.

PS: The Dino Legendary is pretty interesting. Can have a deck built around it, and buffs existing Secret decks (Secret Hunter comeback? I enjoyed it quite a bit back in the day). And has decent stats (can be played mid-game and stats are not awful).

Did you see the reveal video for the mage legendary?!
1. It was awesome.
2. High quality
3. It did show a play like the molten reflection combo. I believe it can a pretty good card.
4. But you are right it could be too slow.

The legendary dino - glad you also see the use for it. I was thinking about secret pala as well. But obviously hunter is a no brainer.

New shaman legendary spell
1. They are keeping evovle shaman alive.
2. tbh it is one of my favorite shamans. It is rng and fun.
3. It is slow and too many crappy legendaries.

Galvanizer is a good rare minion for heavy mech decks

Dr. Morrigan warlock legendary
1. Only want to state that this look like a regular minion. I think it is pretty boring.. yawn!

Warlock spell legendary
1. I love it.

Ahahahah, thanks for pointing me to that reveal video! So funny, and EPIC! And sooo good quality!!! Blob you must watch it.

Ok lots of new Legendaries! Subject 9 is just amazing, even drawing 2 secrets makes this good, drawing 3 makes it insanely good, it is as good as Druid cards almost I don't think you want more than 3 different secrets in Hunter, where this cards shines being a beast in all.

Dr. Morrigan is weird. The concept is unique I'll give them that. But 8 mana... So instead of Lich King I would play this? Which brings random minions from your deck like Madam Goya, ughhh... If there is a combo I don't see it.

The Storm Bringer seems fun lol, but knowing how crappy the Legendaries can be I would only play this if I can immediately play Evolve if need be. Not a competetive card but fun at least.

Watching the stream made me think that the archetypes they push fared poorly while tried and true ones will only get stronger.

Treant Druid is rather inconsistent. Mech Warrior seems slow, but could get better. Spell Dmg Mage might work, but it's better to use some of the new cards in existing decks. Priest was Inner Fire deck which might get out of hand with the new cards (Test Subject + Extra Arms).

At the same time we can see that Pogo-Hopper will be cancer, Zoo will get a lot stronger (new buffs plus multiplying demons which is a novelty).

Now on to the cards
Flarks Boom Zooka - Call of teh Wild anyone? Strong card, but I think only in Rattle decks. I suppose the targets are random?
Crystallizer - the missing link to make self-damage Warlock decks work?
Harbringer Celsetia - trash. There are so many better tools to control the board, plus it can be easily played around. I don't want it in my pack
Steel Rager - they did it! It's actually a bit weaker Reckless Rocketeer, but it's a Mech so Magnetic works.
Ectomancy - so, more love for Demons? This looks really OP.

Aside from a few other interesting tools for the classes, rest are filler (filler "junk", there are a lot of Mechs there )

PS: Bull Dozer is so cool

This expansion is making me happy haha, love the theme. Goblin Prank is just awesome. Just the names alone, Kaboom Bot, Rusty Recycler, Flark's Boom-Zooka, Extra Arms! Haha.

Firts cards I want are Dr. Boom, The Boomship, Kangors Endless Army, Ectomancy, Supercollider, Reckless Experimenter.

I am devoted to Big Spell Mage currently and I could try some new cards there too, although not as flashy a few commons could fit there like Brainstormer which gains more HP the more spells you have.

My excitement is back boys

I'm sitting on a lot of dust, so I have a lot of options.

First, traditionally, I will see what the packs will give me. With around 40 pack at launch I belive I can get at least 2 Legendaries.

After that I will be able to craft at least 5-6 Legendaries.

My top picks are probably Electra, Dr. Boom (but need moar Mechs) and Ziliax. I hope for a lot of Mech's in packs so I can build Mech decks.

Other then that I don't have any specific ideas, maybe Floop? Or Subject 9?

PS: Whatever the case I hope to create another unique deck as my Dragon Hunter. It's still fun after so many weeks, probably a homebrew deck I'm most proud of

Two questions:

Which critics do you trust or watch analyze the cards?

Is there any legendaries one must craft before launch?

EDIT: I play a Deathrattle Rogue in wild.. I am looking forward to changing it with new deathrattle cards because it is not good atm, but man rogue got some great deathrattle cards

I don't trust anyone At this point I think we all know very well that most of the time predictions of the meta are wrong. Evolution of meta has its own rules that mostly depend on what decks are currently popular. We can predict some OP combinations or cards, but their true value depends largely on the circumstances: in short - if there is "room" to play them.

I think you're probably reacting to Trumps BDP pre-release review, which is universaly criticized by the community. I didn't even see it, but I heard he gave low scores for most of the cards...

Tell you what, here's what I personally think (sorry for, probably, repeating some things I already mentioned):
- there seems to be a large powercreep this time around - quite a few cards look like potential nerf candidates
- Druid might be strong, but it largely depends on the meta: the class is slow. All those "sick" new cards won't do you any good with aggro decks. Taunt Druid strenght is the fact that it can keep aggro at a distance, but nowadays I find the deck not that good. People use Poly/Hex etc so your Hadronox is rendered almost useless (more Beasts). I doubt Treant Druid will work, but some kind of Token Druid hybrid might...
- Must crafts? Hardly... I already mentioned my picks, but I changed my stance a bit for some of them:
* Ziliax - not OP but works in any Mech deck and it's good on it's own, but honestly I don't know if he will be that much playable
* Floop - initially I thought he was OP, but seeing him in action I think it's actually a tricky card. You usually don't want to use him to copy a weak minion, and holding him till late game makes him a dead card in your hand. Ofc you can always play him for board, but what's the point of having him then? Meta-dependend, will work if big minion/OTK Druid decks will shine.
* Luna's Pocket Galaxy - yes, it is strong. But so is Druid Quest. The latter is slower you say? Maybe, but LPG is still a late game card that is based around draw, and more improtantly minions, which aren't Mages forte. It needs playtesting.
* Subject 9 - I think it's a safe craft. Will work in any Secret deck (maybe even Secret-Pala will have a comeback?), and Secret Mage is still strong.
* Electra - this is the ONLY must craft for me from the lot. Will work in absolutely any Shaman deck, even if you're only running a Lightning Bolt.

PS: Rattle Rouge got some new tools, but I think the archetype will only work in Wild if anywhere. New cards are good but a bit slow imo, and the deck lost many of its tools with rotations. You will see a lot of Pogo or Burgle/Tess Rouges though...

Well, I was actually thinking of Trump.

He has rated all classes except Druid 1 stars He really hammered down this expansion.
It really .. "ruined" it for me. Or at least it made me feel a little less hyped because he wasnt hyped.

Electra is a great must craft.

Oh I will only be doing deathrattle rogue in wild. No other place to play it

For me what usually ruins an expansion is the number of cancer decks that are around. An expansion can be super cool, but it will be ruined by decks that you simply can put up with. For me it's somewhat not the case anymore as I stopped try-harding in this game and only play in quick bursts. One thing that was cool at the end of WW cycle is that I really did see a lot of variety. I hope this keeps up in BDP, and we won't see one or two decks that literally flood the meta...

I'm, positive about the expansion cus I see a lot of interesting cards. Guess I do like mechs so I'm ought to build at least few decks around them. What I don't like is that there are almost no Dragons, but guess such a thing happens from time to time... a robotics/science theme doesn't exactly work with Dragons

Stargazer Luna (free) - not interested

Dr. Morrigan - where do you even play her?

And not a single Epic that interested me.

Fortunately I have a lot of dust on me so eat my dust Blizzard!
