played for about an hour.
not space consuming if we take in account HDD space which at the moment I don't have a lot of.
and it's pretty fun.
got my arse kicked when played against a real oponent for the first time.

but considering that this is the third trading card based game I played, it's pretty good. A vibe from MtG is felt, but I guess that's the game they borrowed ideas from.

Thanks Vindicator, but I've already read various tips on "how to play the Arena". I already know basic things, like what Heroes are best for Arena, because of their Hero Powers and spells. Mage is the top choice because she has the most universal ones like a lot of dmg dealing/battlefield clearing cards. But like I said it's too random, and with my luck my opponents tend to have better draws, even when their cards are so so, they always have a counter for my cards or an OP Legendary that practically finishes the game (I didn't draw a Legendary even once :/). It's hard to fight with your unluckiness, but I guess that's how it is in my case

I forgot to mention that I don't play Hunter in the Arena, him being a bad choice there. Because of the cards randomness you won't get his main strength: Beast synergies. For instance I pick Scavenging Hyena because it plays well with almost every other Beast. The problem is, in my entire draw I get, like, three beast altogether, so how can I make combos with that ?

I did manage to get a nice Pirate combo once (four types of Pirates x 2), and even a few weapons to boost that one Pirate who gets attack bonus from your weapons attack value. Unfortunately, my opponents had even better draws... for instance, I fought with a Paladin who had this weapon that gives every creature at +1/+1 at the cost of durability and a lot of low cost minions. I had two Pirates which sack durability in my deck, but guess what? I didn't even draw one, and he overwhelmed me with his boosted troops...

It's not that I don't win in the Arena. Heck, even I sometimes get some great combos. But winning 12 games? Impossibru... (three wins is the most I get).

Yesterday I've had the best Arena run to date: 9 wins with Jaina (7 in a row!). And all with seasoned players, because they've had that Pandarian motif on the back of their cards. Four Fireballs, two Flamestrikes, a Blizzard and a few more dmg dealing spells for crowd control/finishing enemy Hero and a lot of Spell Dmg+ minions like Ancient Mage or Azure Drake. Buffed Fireballs were enough to counter almost any stronger minion my enemy summoned. Where it comes to minions my best draws were Mana Wyrm, Faerie Dragon (I've practically won an entire duel with it, because my opponent couldn't counter it with an ability or spell, and I've cleared each and every enemy minion with spells ), Imp Master and Gurubashi Bersereker (yes his standard "throw Jaina's Hero ability into him" works wonders).

The only downsides of these deck was my Legendary: Nozdromu. He comes in handy with his 8/8, but his ability is useless at the end of a duel, because usally players don't have that many cards to think what to do with them longer the a few seconds. I think with a Legend like Ragnaros this deck would be practically unstoppable...

Oh, and I was seriously disappointed with the prizes. Aside from 155 gold in one box, I've got an Expert Pack with no interesting cards, and a golden useless card (I've had two of them already) which I disenchanted for 50 dust... I mean, this does not bode well: reaching 9 wins in the arena requires a lot of luck (not to mention 12 wins ), and the tempo of acquiring Legandaries or dust for crafting them is really slow...

On a side note, what do you guys think I should craft for my first Legendary (well assuming I don't get one in a Pack)? I will probably pick between Ragnaros and Ysera. I don't want a class specific Legendary for now, I want a minion I can throw into any deck. I know there are guys like Tinkmaster, Leeroy or Nat that people suggest, but I just don't like these cards :/. There are a couple interesting Legendary minions, but for now I'll pick an "endgame" one...

I'd suggest Ysera. She's amazing if you can keep her alive.
Ragnaros is good, but rather RNG as far as his attacks are concerned. Ysera's Dream-cards are usefull in any ol' situation. Emerald Drakes are absolute beasts. Laughing Sisters are upgrades of the already usefull Faerie Dragons. Dream and Nightmare are good cards and they combo exceptionally well. Ysera Awakens is a very good boardclear eventhough it hurts you as well.

That being said, my first crafted legendary was King Krush and I Love him.

Hm, strange that you've crafted King Krush. He is not bad by any means, but there are far more useful Legendary cards(except if you have all of those that you need ).

About Ragnaros and RNG, well everything in this game is RNG. In terms of usefulness both Ragnaros and Ysera are very useful, but I've seen Ragnaros a lot more often than Ysera and at least from my experience I've never had that much of a problem with Ysera as much as I had with Ragnaros.

Just to share some funny moments from my friends, my friend is playing against the guy that on turn 9 played Ragnaros. My friend didn't have direct counter, so just put a ton of small creatures on the field or something like that. Next turn, turn 10, enemy plays 2x Faceless Manipulators and has 3 Ragnaros on the field. Huehuehue

Second friend is playing Priest against some guy. He uses Mind Vision and 2x Thoughtsteal, and from them he gets 2x Sylvanas and 2x Ragnaros. :X

I'd love to get Krash, cus Hunter is my favorite Hero, but as a class specific card, the T-rex is not the best choice for me now. I can play with Hunter for fun, but with all those random quests you need cards that can fit into any deck.

And about Ysera/Ragnaros. We have two similiar cards in a way, both giving you sth in the same turn you summon them. In a situation when your enemy has Mind Control or sth dmg dealing/minion killing I think Ysera is better though. Ragnaros is less random (meaning his effect is clear, whereas you don't know which Ysera card you'll get), but only if your enemy doesn't have a few smaller minions which can waste that fireball. If your rival counters him, you're left with nothing. With Ysera you still have a card to play (of course it's still totally random), but let's say you have an Emerald Drake and something to boost him, you still have the upper hand (it's worse with Mind Control, but Ysera is not as dangerous as a Mind Control'ed Rag). But as with all things in Hearthstone it all comes down to duel-specific situations...

I'm also thinking about some cheaper to play Legendaries, but the fact is that it's endgame when I would really use a strong minion to change a dire situation. Usually I can manage in mid-game, so an endgame game-changer is what I'm looking for. I really dislike those duels in which your enemy pulls of a Deathwing or sth when you have board control

On a different note, I remember a duel in which I had total board control and a sure win scenario, while my rival Paladin casted a Secret. I've had a quick recollection of what Secrets a Paladin might have, and I completely forgot about Eye for an Eye. I had 3 life left. One simple mistake, and I could've lost the whole duel in a situation where I had the upper hand with a few 4+ dmg creatures. Fortunately, you can never be too cautious so I send a 2/2 attacker first and I managed to stay alive with one life left. After that I finished him accordingly. I would really love to see the face of my opponent then

Well, Leeroy is still among the best Legendaries in the game, especially for rushy decks.

A lot of classes have good combos with him. Hunter plays Leeroy with 2x Unleash the Hounds(and this works even on empty field because of 2 Dragons that Leeroy summons for your enemy), Warlock can do 2x Power Overwhelming on Leeroy, other classes have something too.

Friend played against some Rogue that did Leeroy + Shadow Step + Leeroy + Shadow Step + Preparation + Leeroy + Cold Blood + Cold Blood and instantly killed him. Just LOL.

Of course Leeroy isn't a Legendary that will stay on the field and be problem to the enemy, but he is usually played to kill something strong or to just finish the game instantly.

EDIT:
It is funny when you see player plays this just to draw a Molten Giant and instantly kills his opponent that has 20 HP.

I crafted Krush for the same reason Blob would like it. Cuz Hunter is my favorite class and I play it the most. Krush may not be the best out there, but when I play it, 9 out of 10 it shifts the game so far in my favour I win.
That being said, I'm going for Ysera next and maybes Cairn after that. Cairn's gonna combo well with a lot of the new Naxramas cards.

One word for Leeroy: "Taunt". And players tend to keep at least one blocker on the field.

Combo with Holy Wrath is nice, but I dislike such randomness, so I don't use this card in my Paladin deck. Plus, it's quite expensive to cast.

I wanted to ask you guys: which Heroes you dislike to face with the most? I personally hate Anduin. I dislike playing him as I usually don't have enough "card luck" to trigger his combos (Divine Spirit + Inner Wrath for instance). And it's a whole different story when his my opponent. I practically always have a hard time against him. When I see Anduin casting a Northshire Cleric I seriously wanna puke. It's one of the hardest card to get rid off. I mean it's cheap, so Anduin's usually cast them in the first turn, and there aren't many minions strong enough to destroy it in the first few turns. And it's a waste to use some damaging spells on it. Yet, if you let it live, Anduin can trigger that annoying ability just by healing her. And usually players tend to double her health, so she is that much harder to get rid off. And as we all know, drawing additional card in Hearthstone can make a huge difference. Sooo anoying...

Taunt isn't really a problem when you have cards to counter it, and Leeroy costs 4 mana, you have more than enough mana to get rid of the taunter. Just for example, if you compare it with King Krush, you can't really play it if you need to use something to kill a Taunter first.

About classes I hate to play against, probably Paladin and Shaman, because I believe that these two classes have answers to literally everything you can throw at them. Also hate the fact that you can wipe the whole field with Paladin with just 4 mana, which is absurd to me, even if you have 8 creatures with 100 HP, it just doesn't matter.

The thing I've posted about Holy Wrath was just for fun, nobody uses that card obviously.

Speaking of Ysera, one of my opponents showed me a nice combo with her and Anduin.

Divine Spirit + Inner Fire (not Wrath as I mistakenly wrote in a previous post). 24/24 minion anyone? And you can't even counter her, because Anduin player can make it happen in the same turn she attacks... A "taunter" is your only hope (of course if you have sth insta-kill/disable).

EDIT: Guys, is Lorewalker Cho a good card? I recently got one in an Expert Pack (my first Legendary yay! Unfortunately one that disappointed me). I don't find him that usefull, so I'm thinking of disenchanting him for my Ysera fund-raising, but maybe I should keep him? I've watched a video once in which TotalBiscuit said this card tends to make his opponents panic, so maybe it is useful...

What do you guys think?

About the combo, it is old combo but it is a bit harder to do. A lot better to do with Gurbashi Berserker, because he costs 5 mana and isn't legendary, 2x Divine Spirit + Inner Fire and he is 28/28.

I don't know about that Legendary, I saw him in pro decks maybe once or twice, he is pretty situational, so I guess it would be better to disenchant him if you really need some other Legendary card.

I'm starting to get bored and frustrated at the same time with Arena.

The problem is that if you don't get Jaina with good draws it's hard to win more then three times. I've seen how the game looked when I had 4 Fireballs and few other offensive spells: total board control and/or an option to kill your opponent with offensive spells alone. Without her it's harder to win in Arena...

Even if I have quite good draws with other Heroes, because most players pick the same cards over and over again (like Chillwind Yeti or Defender of Argus) it all comes down two who has more luck. At least in normal duels there's more variety (though its becoming annoying when after careful planing and great maneuvering you loose a game because your enemy has that Ragnaros at the end, yet I have no Legendaries). What I mean is that this game randomness is becoming a nuisance to me.

Aside from Jaina I find Garosh a good pick. His weapons/brutal and fast minions combos are really great. Yet again, even if I have good decks with Garrosh, my opponents still have better :/ Even when a duel is even, an opponent throws that Pyroblast/Legendary at the end and it's game over...

Hearthstone is fun to play casually, but when you're aiming to play it to earn arcane dust for instance, it's becoming frustrating: with the limited time I have to play it, I want to finish Quests as fast as possible, because Quest mean Gold and Gold means Arena. I pick Arena, I get another crappy draw, win as much as three games, only to earn another s*itty Expert Pack with lame cards that give you 5 Arcane Dust at most. Sigh...

Sorry for bringing out my frustrations guys, but it's how I see this game at the moment...

@War-Overlord: Yeah I also need to try Shaman in Arena. Each time I play against him in Arena, he comes out victorious. He spams that Totems, throws in a couple of Feral Spirits, controls the board with those offensive spells (though most of them have Overload I don't see my opponents having trouble with mana ) and finishes with Bloodlust. He's a hard one allright...
