While we're at arbitrarily pointing out some imbalances in the game, I need to share with you my biggest pet peeve about Cove.
Pirate, Corsair and Sea Wolf all have 7 speed. This is the only unit in game which doesn't improve its' speed upon upgrading from 1st to 2nd stage. I don't mind Sea Wolf retaining his speed, because it's the first second upgrade in whole game, but Pirate not having 6 or less speed in my opinion just breaks the implicitly established standard of improving speed along with upgrade.
I know, their speed hasn't been chosen randomly and probably is well justified, but as I said before it's just my pet peeve.

I agree with this. ^^
Also the fact that Pirates can be upgraded twice makes them the level 3 unit with highest attack, defense and high speed and damage and 4 abilities!, maybe a little op?...

HotA translations
Alas hotA can not be translated to other languages (non Eglish, non Russian).
1. HotA.dat is not editable/changable so no new features translation.
2. HotA_lng.lod for *.txt's has highest priority, so HotA does not read txt's from Data folder nor with Plugins/Packs feature from HD mod. Obviously editing HotA_lng.lod is not long term solution. Other files (exept above mentioned HotA.dat and txt's) can be translated/changed with HD mod Plugins/Packs.
So first, strange behaviour with not letting change txt's and letting other files.
And second, HotA.dat.
As we have many SoD translations, it wouldn't take much to translate HotA appendages (txt's in HotA are changed/supplemented minimally from SoD). Just let us do it  .
So my request is let us translate HotA the way SoD can be translated HD mod way or Data folder way, because HotA is the feature.

Do I even dare? Sorry if I'm being cautious - it's just that downloading .exe files straight off the net never feels safe.

Thank you for reply. Anyway editing HotA.dat (and HotA_lng.lod) everytime after HotA update is not a solution.
[edit]By the way, looking at that editor I just realized I can understand Polish

I assume there won't be more HotA updates than one in a year. And... every mod after updates needs update localization too! Every WoG update from 3.50 to 3.58f had to be updated with (polish) localization too!
Pellish: none of polish HotA community didn't notice anything dangerous downloading and using this app. So did I.

I have just installed HotA, but I get an error when trying to launch it.
Before installing HotA I had:
- SoD,
- AB,
- HOMM3 HD.
I suppose it is the problem with AB, right?
I'd like to install everything from scrap, meaning:
1. uninstall everything.
2. SoD.
3. HotA.
4. HOMM3 HD.
So here's my question: how to uninstall HotA? I cannot find the 'uninstall' option, neither can find HotA in 'remove programs'...

There should be a folder in your HotA directory named "Uninstall HotA"

HotA installed in my Heroes3 directory and the only new folder is "HotA_logs".

Well, if you are going to re-install everything from scratch you may just delete the whole folder. Reg entries are probably not that important there

I really hope they have done something about Learning, First Aid, Eagle Eye and Mysticism and Town Portal and Dimension Door, Witch Huts being optional and maybe the introduction of Market of Time.

So, what do you guys think of the newly released simultaneous turns feature? It's exclusively for HotA with HD mod installed. Pretty neat stuff to say the least. I'm surprised nobody here is really discussing it yet. They could even have coordinated it with the fabled New Year's Eye patch, but I wont complain about early presents.  And I understand that it's important to get the feature stress tested to continue development, besides it fits in well with the room for another HotA tournament.
Hint, you can try it out even if using a single PC, just launch two instances of the game and join your own game.

For me it's atm kinda useless this simultanous playstyle, 'coz there isn't a useful multiplayer platform for it at all.

Well, you will have to be dedicated if you want the best option available, registering on the heroesworld.ru forum. It's not easy though. Like, you actually have to localise your keyboard to Russian to be able to type in the right words to get through the bot protection on signing up. At least I did at the time. There's even more hardship to it than that, but on the positive side then the players are very friendly, and it should be possible to find other beginners to start playing with. But you will most likely have to be quite patient at the beginning until you start establishing some contacts. I would honestly just jump into it if I were you. It's worth it at the end of the day if you're serious about playing online.
But it does illustrate your point about how hard it can be to find a HotA opponent to play with. It would be great if something similar to CnCNet could be made for HMM3. Perhaps something integrated right into HD mod. But that would be for the future to see.
