Exactly, Archons are titles in case of these second-generation students of Belketh, not a synonim to "ruler". In that case, ALL Heroes are "rulers" of some sort (some even have duchies up their sleeve).

I think that meaning of the original greek word archon is 'lord' or 'ruler' (Elvin help  ), but I also believe that it was used as a title, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they started translating to Brazilian Portuguese names of things based on football and Carnival. Referee, Midfielder, Big Butt; things of that caliber.

I collaborated with the company that is responsible for localization in CZ back at the H6 era. Nothing changed since then, o it is even worse. IDK who does these, but please let ME do them, I'll take half the money and will do a much better work.
And I seriously believe they used GT.
Come on game publishers. Games are a live interactive media with huge language variations. It's not a manual or business letter that you can translate by some guide or template.
It's organic. You can't use the same words over and over again. You have to work with the language. YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE CONTEXT OF WHAT YOU TRANSLATE.
Game are more like books then manuals. Please do not give these tasks to people who are used to work mechanically, with assisted translation tools and GT. They may be cheaper but will never do a good job.

@Dave, if only devs would read this and can do something about it. I'll sign under every one and signle word of that post.
AFAIK there're some "legal issues" - at least that's what I was answered when I offered Russian fan-site's translations to be used on the website at least.
But hey, can't they save some money and give locas to us... there're so many dedicated people (as I now clearly see) on Polish, Russian and Czeck side.

I'm going to tell you my experience with the company. It has been more then 4 years and H6 is at then of its life cycle.
I was doing a localization interview with a company representative to talk a bit about their work. You can still read it on Heroes-centrum.com if you want.
After that, they asked me what my knowledge of the series was. As a long time Heroes and MaM player I said it is rather in depth. They asked me then if I could be their "consultant" since H6 was their first project and they did not get any documents from their predecessors.
I Agreed, free of pay, but before I could do what they asked I had to sign a contract that I would not leak any unpublished info, under the threat of a 10 000 000 Czk fine (Approx 40 000€ at that time). Note that I was a University student at that time.
Result? I received an excel file with over 1000 names and terms (in all languages btw.) which I read, marked the worst things, and what they should look into.
only 30% of what I have marked has been considered. Some, like the Ironfeather, which was a MaMVII reference, were left in their original, bad form, much to my dislike.
In the end, CZ H6 even now has several very bad translations, The word "Dire wolf", which appears in the game approx. 5 times, was translated in 3 different ways. The unit "Spring spirit" was originally translated as the spirit of the season, rather then the spot where water burst out of the earth, and is still translated as such in one ability description, thank gods they did not use the "metal coil" meaning.

@Dave, thank you! an interesting read indeed (no sarcasm).
It also pains me greatly that university students (!) make better tranlations than localizators (who should have ended university anyway). HOW?! JUST HOW?!?!
Why Ubi simply throws money away...

I'd say it broke free from Asha's cycle of Life and Death. No matter how hard you try to ignore it, it will always be there. Even if it dies, it doesn't completely  .
