They gave us the same two maps. The small one was in the first beta. Now they gave us some huge unplayable maps, which is ridiculous. Where did you leave your brains? The current AI would probably do better, lol. No offence, but this is so funny.

This beta is probably so ridiculous, anyways. You know about most of the issues, anyways, long before this beta was even out.

@merenefere1282: your post seems to imply the large maps were unplayable for you not only because of the slow AI. If that's indeed the case, what are the specs of your PC? If you don't mind sharing them.

Laptop,8gb ram,i5 420u,geforce 840m(ok not the best) and every 10-15 battles i get a crash,at the battle loading screen. There hasn't been one 2 hour playtbrough without any prebattle loading screen crash. It always happens at least 6 times. If i don't engage in any battles though,no crashes nomatter how long i play

With my laptop, that does not meet the minimum requirements, I had the same problem. Sometimes it crashed at the very first battle after loading my savegame. And that after 10 minutes of loading time!

Now I provide my laptop with a little more ventilation by making sure there is some space between it and the tabletop, and I haven't have a crash since! I don't know what causes these crashes, but I hope they can deal with the problem before release. It is not fun playing if you have to be afraid of the game crashing every time you engage in combat.

Btw, on my brothers pc, which runs the game smoothly on the highest settings, we experienced the same crashes.

AI turns really long. Game crashing, today even unable to load the 3 player map. Wery "positive" feelings about last whole day of beta.

My system requirements?

Intel 2.4 GHz processor, 8GB RAM, W7

Quick offtopic:

Anyone from modteam or skilled programmer who can "extract" this wheel and upload it somewhere separately so we can use it on our fansites and transtale it?

Back on topic: I have good comp setup and still have problems aka crashes and loooong AI turns so it is not so related to our HWs.

So, the only hero that appears to have access to GM diplomacy and at least  Tier2 economy is a necromancer...

strange, but if I ever get my hands on the game I guess I'll have to try out that dreamy Giovanni first.

I think you'll have to ask someone from the site. This seems it has some copyright issues. Just saying this skill wheel is a bit too important for the site to be copied away.

Thanks, I will do that but it would be nice from them to create some "fankit" to put it on our fansites to promote H7 in our native languages

BTW: what is "spell synergy"? --> If a spell will evoke a magic synergy it is cast with +8 Magic (from Meta Magic skill description).

Don't ppay attention to it. It seems that some skills and abilities have outdated descriptions and Metamagic is one of them.

Hi Marzhin,

You probably won't be reading this... but here are my observations regarding the Beta 2. A disclaimer: I haven't had a chance to try any factions apart from Sylvan due to my limited time schedule.

What I liked:
1) Freely choosing skills. This was a surprise. I liked having a certain goal. Picking skills also does not diminish from the adaptability criticism. I find myself breaking away from picking upgrades of skills I have because I got an Air spell, or I find I'm not moving fast enough in the world map.

2) Grandmaster skills aren't gamebreaking.

What I did not like:
1) It doesn't need to be repeated again, but... in a way I guess I am doing it anyway. Bugs! Some of the skills don't work. Forgive me, I wasn't taking notes, and I know that's not helpful, but maybe a rigorous once over would work? I know Nature's Revenge isn't reliable when it comes to activating (it also needs to be said that skill description within the game would be nice). I also noticed the Dryad's Treant Synergy only adds... well.. +0 defense. Really?

2) Computer AI turns. Even with the fog of war, the computer takes ages to complete its turn.

3) THE LIMITS IN LEARNING SKILLS! Okay, I get how some classes have restrictions, but to deny certain classes skills that would otherwise be helpful in their specialization.... RIDICULOUS! Sinithala has no access to Warfare? So what's the point in her having the extra Dryads per week? That Mother Treant becomes as useless as a H3 Healing Tent (again, no Warfare skill), and by consequence, the Dryad. Point is, LET US CHOOSE SKILLS, then depending on skills chosen, implement restrictions afterward to direct a hero to a particular class or not.

Secondly, in relation to skills... Diversify the classes available if you guys are set on keeping the current class system (I still vehemently disagree with it. It's what's going to disallow me from enjoying a potentially good game). All three Sylvan magic cannot all have Grandmaster Earth. I DON'T CARE! THERE'S A FRIGGIN SEA ELF FACTION in the campaign, so play the classes up according to the lore.

4)  Heroes should not be limited to their classes. Players should be able to pick a hero, and then work their way up to a class depending on the skills they pick instead. This is my proposed solution if we are talking about a compromise between the old system and what you guys have concocted.

5) It's been said before, but some creatures are not to scale. Oak Dryad grew 2 times and she's bigger than a Black Dragon? Eeeeehhhh.... I get that the units are a representation of the actual scale... but the example I drew is just a total disconnect.

6) We voted for Sylanna's Fury. Stick with that! Why are the Sprites and Dryads so slow in reaching the other screen? They're weak enough compared to other cores and they can't even be set up to perform flanks.The Dancers are still crap as ever but that's besides the point. The Tears of Asha building is called Perfect Balance? Both champion units are SLOOOOOWWW?!?! Fury, fury, fury! The thematic concept is not translated in the Sylvan gameplay.

7) Diplomacy is... way... too... powerful. In a way, I love it, because it's been a traditionally worthless skill. But if I can get 50 upgraded Hydras to join, and not have one die ever... there's something wrong there. Maybe limit the joinees to a percentage? And each level of Diplomacy you get, that percentage increases? I don't know...

8) I need help understanding the point of the Dryad/Treant combination. The Treant, I find, is most useful as a defender of your ranged units, considering its horrid +1 a week growth. In order to capitalize on the Dryad's Treant Synergy, the Dryads cannot move from their position next to the Treant. They heal the Treant after all if they end their turn next to it. Sooo... how are they useful in battle then? Solution: bring back H5's Symbiosis.

9) There's the criticism that H6 creatures had way too many abilities. Glories anyone? H7 has way too few, by contrast. You get the feeling that many of the units are indistinguishable because they have passive abilities, or none at all. Employ more active abilities, and allow a lot of the units with no abilities, to have one. E.g. A lot of people criticized that Pixies and Dryads are the same before even playing the game, back when Fury was decided in the fan vote... somehow, this critique has become a reality. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

10) Is there something wrong with the Strider walking animation? Or is that how it's supposed to look?

Good luck. I'm still going to support the game. You guys are definitely in an unenviable position, considering the stacks and stacks of hate you guys get, without an iota of solution proposals. So I wish you and the team well.

Oh, don't dismiss the fact Marzhin won't read. In fact, he is the one monitoring some of Heroes' sites (not just this one). But I feel all these issues will have to be adressed to dev team, the section that made those abilities.

At any rate, it has been said that those line-ups were more about having people choose a more traditional or more modern line-up (as in having more new or more old creatures).

Diplomacy is anything but a worthless skill. You got some that still argue to lower its power down. Also, the creatures won't change the size, because, in devs' words, "it would overlap other creatures". And ah, H6 did have enough abilities. It is just some of them were just chained (like undead creature also means gaining resistance to water and vulnerability to light).

But indeed, apart from forwarding it to the devs and the game designers, there's little I can do myself.
What I can say however, is that Diplomacy (for instance) has been nerfed a lot compared to its values in the Beta.

yes!! at last! also marzhin as i stated in another thread, the wizard and academy classes in academy,grand master in paragon, and meta magic. both meta magic and paragon's grand master have the exact same effect so those two classes are missing out on another better ability to grand master. can those two classes change grand master to smth else instead of paragon since it has has the same effect as their meta magic (allowing them to cast spells at higher ranks)? if so please forward that, thanks ! I don't think it will be extremely hard to be done

Hm, they did point some issues. Though they did not mention that AI makes odd decisions. But, we'll see about that.

I'm certain some of you have made a feedback about specializations and skills as well. No mention. Guess that's because that's their pride.
