But never have I witness such half-assedness coming from Ubi. Even with those questionable "expansion (adventure) packs" for H6.

Manticore and Medusa looks awesome though.
Oh, not only from HoMM6... Troglodyte is actually from Might and Magic 7 and as for Medusa and Skirmisher...
Heroes of Might and Magic Online (that one closed when Ubisoft annoucmented their own Heroes Onlime game)
One of DE concept arts from HoMM5 times.

And they even have to nerve to say final creature "might" look different...

You don't remember the pre-H6 marketing campaign then. Now that was a messed up. But atleast when they started marketing that game they atleast had some basic game concepts and graphical presentation(which got hacked immediately from their site).
This time they just gave up and let monkeys run the marketing department.

Of course its their fault to start vote for faction without even having concept art.
Asking for people to choose line-up and then presenting creatures with ages old screenshot, concept art from another game (and shamelessly saying that its NOT art from the game) or not even having concept art at all is just ridiculous.
Giving some flavor text as description is not helping either.
Its like saying: This creature might look kinda, maybe, similar to this art but it also could be totally different. And we can tell you some unimportant story about its origin. Now choose creatures based on these unclear descriptions and without even knowing how creature looks like.
What kind of blind vote is that?
They are totally unprepared for this vote and it shows.

Wow, this Hydra looks much more than the one in previous heroes, very very good ! But I was soo sad not seeing the strider -__- why not show at least sketchces ? I think this makes people to vote for blade because they think its gonna be a golem ! but its not golem ! ah... well, maybe they show it tomorrow what you think ? btw skirmisher doesnt suit dungeon at all :/
