Me too. Moreover, I thimk that this cloud was intended to move into opposite direction, to " live its own life". Its role is a little bit like scarf - it covers respective part of body loosely, so that it presented but not completely.

"I must disagree. The body does not blend smoothly into the spiral. In fact the two are rather out of sync animation-wise and are going in opposite directions.

I guess it won't be that much of a problem once it's zoomed out on the battlefield, though.

Indeed, it will be an unidentifiable blue blop

Are Druids male?
Come on, at least hints. Clues??

@JeremiahEmo: It'll be a female druid, like on the reference artwork we posted during the vote (although the actual design will be different).

I'm not sure if he said this for serious or to troll Jeremiah
But I don't think there'll be problems with female Druids. They're mages and healers afterall.

Metamagic reminds me of H5 Warlock's Elemetal Chains btw.
And dat Raja's fun animation!

Yeah, I got the same idea. May Be slightly different mechanic but same principle. Giving bonus to a group of spells

I wouldn't have a problem with either.
I think by now, Marzhin is aware of Jeremiah's Agenda and behaviour. So trolling him for a bit of fun, might lighten the mood a bit.
On the other hand, I don't think many people other than him are that bothered about the gender of a given unit. So making the Druid female is not  very laden descision.
It would be historically inaccurate, but fantasy in general has never been held back by that fact that in Celtic-times, all Druids were men. And unless you specifically try to replicate a faux-celtic society, which Sylvan isn't, it doesn't bother me much.

I think Marzhin was serious; it sure sounded serious. Anyway, druids could be either male or female in Heroes 3 (It was a hero class) and in MMX, so I don't see what the big deal is. I thought that artwork looked pretty cool.

By the way, his response was hilarious:

I'll say more: in today's fantasy, Druids are like Nature Wizards, who live in harmony with forests, animal etc but IRL they made human sacrifices and maybe practitioned cannibalism, so female Druid is the least thing to worry about for those who like fantasy to be historically accurate

I have no problem with females in support roles at all. It's the warriors types that are hit or miss for me. For example, a female rogue would be more intuitive because they don't rely heavily on physical strength to apply damage and they like backstabbing rather than a two handed warrior female with a claymore. For this reason I think that the female Justicar is a bit iffy.

Historically accurate fantasy is something of a paradox anyway.

On a different note, the whole human-sacrifice thing has very little archeological evidence and may just have been roman propaganda. But let's not get sidetracked.

She's more the fancing type, wearing a small sword that looks like a big dirk (though I think rapiers would fit them more) + small shield and basing their strategy on outmanoeuving and counter-attacking. Their your actual strength has little impact, 'cos the fighting style relies on reaction and qiuckness, the work will be done by the sharp tip.
*If somebody here played Dark Souls, she sure seems like thrusting sword + shield parrying build.

Almost all ancient cultures practiced some form of human sacrafice, yes to some degree even Romans. Altho it is true that some did it to more extent than others, and some abolished it earlier than others.

It's true tho, that by the time of iron age, it became less frequent, as most religions of the time changed rituals, with replacements ... like burning human figurines made of straw etc. So naturaly those societies would regard those that still practice human sacrafice as "barbaric".

No it is not. It's only how you depict the setting. You can have a fantasy tale set in a historically accurate setting, with both fictional and historical characters and a limited use of supernatural. But that would be a very log discussion :-).

I know that. That is why I say that historiccaly accurate fantasy is paradoxical. Dave responded as if I had said it was contradictory. At first at first the ideas of historicall accuracy and fantasy seem to clash, but they do not have to. However, usually historical accuracy is a detrement to fantasy.

Stevie said:

The problem is that he doesn't. He states that it is not a contradiction, which I know and I never claimed.
