it might seem small, but it's still equating a female characters quality based exclusively on looks. those two words should not be used together so easily. (loss at words here. i know there's a word i could use that would be perfect here but i can't think of it. snow.)
progress is hard but necessary, mate. And i'll fight for it all the way

We are talking about a creature design, it's looks, the graphics. About pixels.
I can't stress this enough, you will never have a problem with a unit called "ugly" because it is a common word for something that is not pleasing for you aesthetically. You do not only find a problem when someone uses it for a unit that happens to be a female, but you also go on and accuse him of being a woman hater. That is not cool.

Yes but the seduced man will have a picture of hot woman. Even in myths they appear as beautiful women in dreams, their demonic traits (claws, tail) are revealed at closer inspection.
The succubus isn't the type of creature who can seduce by the snip of the fingers, she plays by her looks (unlike, for example, siren, whose power comes through their voice).

Don't you think that you are overreacting? Someone a few weels ago called Heroes VI cyclops ugly or used some word with similar meaning, yet no-one protested. When a succubus is called ugly, then you get involved. Isn't it judging a unit by its looks? If we want to dig deeper why there are no ugly elves in every medium that they are presented? Isn't it also derogatory because it automatically implies that elves are judged by their looks...?

Looking back, i didn't actually accuse him of being a woman hater. i said his words are Borderline misogynistic, that his words could be interpreted as such and i that i find that troubling. frankly i came off as milder than i expected (i was prepared to apologize but i don't see any need to now). You're right in that it's not cool and i'll try not to jump to conclusions however i don't think i did anything wrong in this case. i merely called out behaviour i find troubling and said why.
i will continue to stop these kind of things before they actually bloom into something terrible because i am really passionate about this. As long as Sligneris doesn't go back to equating the quality of a female character based solely on attractiveness or turn into Jeremiah i'm absolutely fine. have a nice evening, i'm going to bed.

no no no ... we seem to have a bit of missunderstanding here. When I say succubus I mean the H5 version. H6 succubuss has clothes ... a big negative ...

Ah, in this I agree with you. They're not exactly the epitome of what I consider attractive, but like I commented before, I really like the shape of their model, their silhouette and the way they moved - they also had that demonic, monstrous design, for which someone praised them before.
^It would be nice if they looked more like this in-game though.

Honestly i feel the H6 design was an attempt to ment Jezebeth, Biara and Xana styles into one being. I feel it succeeded.

while i still find the h5 succubi superior i can't call the h6 one bad by any means. it has the standard traits that makes it "attractive" (thin waist, long hair etc.) and doesn't have the standard "pretty girl face". that's a good thing, isn't it? i congratulate h6 succubi as a pretty good design overall even if she is, ugh, "ugly" (please don't use this as a reason to call something terrible, ok?) she still maintains a reasonable attractiveness. while i don't find her desirable enough to actually be an effective succubi i can still congratulate on an overall good design.

The problem is - you can't make a Succubus the way it's supposed to be, because it would be 18+. It's like Genya says, the Succubus isn't supposed to be "attractive" in any aesthetical sense; the correct effect of a succubus would be that you'd be disgusted - but still notice - incredulously - that you had a hardon and would see the weirdest porn scenes before your mind's eye, when a Succubus is using its powers.
So you'd have to make the Succubus the essence of what porn means: ridiculously emphasized primary and secondary genitals and so on - the exact opposite of "erotic subtlety".
An icon for primitive demonic carnality.
You can't do that in a 12+ game - it wouldn't be easy anyway.
That's why Succubae are a pretty difficult matter.
The effect, the actual depiction and description has, is - for me - that the Inferno is a way better alternative to ensure eternal life than the unlife Necromancy gives. Respawning as a Succubus/Incubus doesn't sound all that bad.

so if you can't make a proper Succubi, why even have it in the game?
can be applied to Liches, vampires, Cerberus etc as needed.
