Then, what is this version of heroes, when it rips things that already ripped other things? (As WoW is not that original). I respect that you like Ubi's heroes, but you should be realistic. And don't get me wrong: I'm not all about hating Ubi. I like H5 (with a number of mods), but I hate where the series goes.

First, ask yourself: do other games have similar creatures and similar designs, or, in your language, rip-off others?
Second, how much Ubi rips-off others? They even had to choose cabir over gremlin due to copyright issues. My thoughts? Pokemon, Twilight, Warcraft, some world-known actors/movies (H6 - Lord Haart, Darkness Elemental, anyone?) and likely of other stuff.

I am pretty sure there is nobody who wants a game of low quality to be made, if you can think of a better way to go about it, by all means lol
as far as using NWC ripoffs of Dungeons and Dragons goes, first of all, the original vision of Might and Magic was a Dungeons and Dragons clone, the series is a love letter steeped in tribute to classic D&D,
it's different than having it try to cynically copy the new kids of Warhammer and Blizzard just because they are popular, that just makes most people cringe, like an old man trying to use the hip new lingo of street punks lol
second, even if there was a case that NWC did rip things off, it would be one heck of a crappy defense against criticism that Ubi rips things off, I think these ideas from Maurice puts it best lol

I agree with you with regards to the rose-tinted glasses. Older games also had loads of problems and issues. But those won't get changed anymore, while we can still influence the current game as it's being developed.
Referring to the good stuff from older games makes sense to point out the flaws in H7. Referring to the bad stuff from older games makes no sense at all, as if that somehow validates the bad stuff in the current game under development.

being a "tribute" doesnt make it any less a copy or illegal lol for that matter the H5 dungeon was outright said to be inspired by warhammer iirc lol

Ultimately, i'm not saying i'm not saying one is worse or better than the other. Despite what your little special brains may think i do enjoy H3 and H4 (i dont play the first two because they look too old and not "old cute" in my tastes like (ie) Castlevania 3)but i enjoy more the Ashan and creature interpretations.
I dont talk about bugs or balance because 1) unless it's a bug that makes the game unplayable (as in: you cant finish missions, game never opens, game has MKX sized memory leaks or game closes by itself) 2) I pick w.e. skills fit the hero most according to his/her story 3) I dont do MP 4) I'm not on the beta lol, not because i think Ubisoft/the developers are God or unfallible.

I doubt that. If that was true, we wouldn't have H6 (nor H7), due to their "legacy", which is a tribute to older versions. This also causes Ashan to be in question, and by such logic, shouldn't exist.

Still, there are some truth in his words. Like they were discussing unit originality in NWC vs Ubi games, not H7 gameplay, balance or any of that.

When he is technically correct? riiiight. Games, movies comics and books these days and in the past has always built off or ripped off something else.
Trying to say they lack originality when heroes 3 ripped off SOO many things is dam foolish in my opinion.
To me looks are secondary I care more about gameplay.

Almost EVERY medium has copied or taken ideas from something else claiming originality is silly. I thought people you know liked the fact that heroes 3 threw in everyone's favorite creatures from different ip's/mythology into one game.
A game with you know good gameplay using those creatures, now its people taking shots OMG these guys suck at designing creatures! Oh wow this vampire has white flowing hair he is SOOOO arthas. Its tiring honestly. Or even NOO you are wrong ubi is SO original! Nah this lore is stupid! It makes no sense!
Vampires being born from an abomination's venom. How could they even think of such a thing! They have ruined vampires *cries* QQQQ
let's not forget man the lighting on the town map is sooo wrong its TERRIBLE, oh how can they design something so bad! Plus people complaining about a god dam deer that has not even been designed yet. It worked in clash of heroes give them a chance if it sucks then you can complain etc.
plus people putting heroes 3 like its some pinnacle of story telling. Yeah the background fluff is pretty cool but they honestly really did not use it.
Plus people making fun of ashan necropolis with the spider motif and the cult. HELL the death priest won the lich voting.
Even this discussion of the audacity of people thinking that heroes 3 did not copy anything or has "original" creatures.
At the end of the day all that matters is in my opinion is the game FUN? You know the reason for playing games in the first place? That is why I pre ordered and testing the game to make sure you know its actually fun! Plus finding bugs to stamp out before release. Or recommending quality of life features.

Wow! I don't think I ever seen a post on SC before that is in total dissonance with my opinion. I strongly disagree with pretty much every point and will try to reply when I have time.

Oh come now. Vampires have been ruined for a while now. 
Or not at all, depending on one's tolerance.
Honestly, I've long since reduced my specific notion of "vampire" to "undead, point-fanged bloodsuckers" and nothing further. Yeah, additional special powers, lordly / upper class status, castle / manor, etcetera are desirable traits, but mandatory? Not so much.
