IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
Blasphemyyyyyyyyyyyy!
I will restart my dicsussion!Holy Academy made orcs to fight and save Ashan,thing which without them now would not have succeded!
Secondly,Silver cities with Irollan and Holy Griffin empire fought the demons in the fifth eclipse in a union and they succeeded!One more good Academy took part!
Third,when Hashima had been invated by the orcs the wizards moved all of their army,to help Hashima.
Fourth,When Lotus Empire was destroyed from the pao orcs,the wizards killed all the orcs there and gave thousands of resources to Sanctuary to revive.
Fifth,Academy instead of injail the criminals and thiefs they gave them the power to pay their sins bulding their cityies and hten they set them free!Wow!
Sixth Academy gave the power to criminals the oportunity to take part in expirememnts and look the results.They are more powerfull than even and not in jail!ACADEMY saved them!
Seventh,they gave thousand of creatures to all factions.For example:minotaurs to dungeon,shark guards to sanctuary kand a lot more...
Eighth:with minotaurs,and some wizard troops Silver cities helped Tuidhana.
There are even more.Academy is the one.We build it,we know her good!

Ah, but let us look at it this way:
First point: Again, the Academy could've easily made artifacts or constructs instead of using human subjects. One could say that they needed the humans to pump demon's blood into, but could they not instead infuse it into the things that I have just mentioned above? Surely, that would make something powerful enough to destroy demons.
Second, Third, Fourth, and Eighth points: While this all might look well and good, let's look into real life history and compare a few things. Nations in the past would help, and even give lavish presents, to other nations for personal gain. Whether to keep the enemy off of their backs, or sneak in for the kill, it was always done to get something. Considering the lack of morales that the wizards have, I could see this applying, as we all know that game armies, as long as they are not black and white, are very similar to the armies of the past.
Fifth and Sixth points: Leave it to the wizards to find a sneaky way to save a buck! Use criminals to do your labor, and don't pay a cent! Telltale miserly behavior! Also, experimenting on criminals seems as bad as torturing them. As for the result after, they don't seem very thankful for being 'saved'!
Seventh point: Most of those creatures either escaped or were taken by other races. Without a doubt, it was not done for charity.
I'm still not seeing Academy as 'good'.

It is totally fine that he likes Academy, I like Academy in H5.  The point is that he ignores all the bad things that Academy did and glorifies all the good stuff, even though HC members already pointed out that some negative side of Academy should not be overlooked (such as the torture and mutilation of human beings, physically and psychologically, in order to create unstable orcs...). Since he still insists that his view of the faction is the right one, you can clearly see that I did not call him names, but stated the obvious.
Being a fanboy of something is not a bad thing. I am a fanboy of some things myself, and in my view it is not a derogatory term at all.

People had to suffer in the past so we get to enjoy modern medicine though..
As for the term fanboy it is used often in a bad light that's why i replied the way i did.

First point:xaxaxaxaxa,my dear wolf!I have tot ell u that u confuse the Academy of the sixth eclipse,with the Academy of the first.
In the first eclipse there were not golems,not powerfull artifacts.Academys cities did not even fly!That was the only way!
Second,fourth,third,eighth point: Of course and they did that to find allyied,did I say the opossite?But they helped them because they liked them and wanted to help them.Of course and htey wanted allyies.Iss that bad?I dont think so...I call it intelligence!
Fifth,six point:They were criminals!They would die in prisons!Academy is not like "holy" empires and stupid "holy" inquisitions who kill people!Academy gave to all that people a great potentional,and they from weak humans transformed to powerfull orcs and different beastmens!
Academy blessed them as always!Now all of them are free and have unlimited power and their factions!They dont think that the wizards saved them?A,xa,xa,xa,xa dont forget that they call Syllana mother earth and Ylath father sky.Not even the dragon gods they cant admit and u wait to admit that their fathers,wizards saved them?

There's nothing wrong with defending your faction, as long as it's based on facts. You, sir, appear to turn a blind eye to the negative and dark side of the things done by Academy and seem to fail to see that most of what they've done is for personal gain.

I understand what is being said here, but remember that the name of this topic, 'Is academy evil?', is inviting our opinions, be it opiniated or analytical. User LightAvatarX does turn a blind eye to the bad side, but I think his opinion should be as welcome as the next!
And yes, I do think fanboy fanaticism is the perfect descriptive word here~ But don't we all have something that makes us tick?
Oh, and before I forget..... User LightAvatarX, bravo to your loyalty! I applaude you for your steadfast support!
But, I still think you're crazy.

imo its the most evil faction in the game because they forcefully turn people into beastmen
with Inferno and Necropolis, becoming a Demon or Undead is more of a voluntary religious rite
