alcibiades said: Really? Sorry, but these screns have WAY more perspective and scaling issues than the UbiSoft screens. Sorry to be the party-pooper here, but if UbiSoft had come up with these screens, people would have been outraged.
Did I mention scaling and perspective? I only mentioned foreground and background. In the Heroes7 townscreens we've seen so far, it's all in the middleground, with a fairly void and empty foreground and background.

I guess empty foreground on HVII townscreens is place where UI goes.

The necro screen is imo quite horrendous. It is at the same time too cluttered and too empty. There is, as with the other screens, a great lack of civilian buildings (or graves). The functional buildings seem to be dropped on the base pyramid as if in some RTS like C&C or starcraft. The have no coherence whatsoever with each other nor with the background. To make things even worse for most of the buildings it is not clear what it's purpose is by just looking at it.
The only structures that imo are done right are the tree on the right and the two webbed structures on the left.
Last but not least: please change the walls so that they are not passable at the sides!

As do I. Yeah, gigantic town legs are a bit much, but rest of it - especially the central staircase - looks great to me.

If they'd remove those stupid legs and extend the moat (to make it drop fluid into the chasm)/fortifications to the edge of the land the townscreen would be usable. Maybe not great, but certainly usable. As it is, I'd say it may be slightly better than Haven's, but still bad.

WOW, just WOW. I love the whole spider thing with necro, but this is just too much. I dont mind the green glow as its their thing and all. But the small wall with the buildings that are 3x larger than it, the lack of walls around more of the city and the friggin spider legs just killed it for me.
Not to mention how all the buildings are all lined up and the lack of dwelling buildings. It seems the devs, eventho they keep saying that they are listening to us, are not listening to us and repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

Ok, it's official. Might & Magic: Heroes 7 only has Military Outposts. Towns won't be ingame.

1) What's wrong with the buildings being lined up? It's clear that the town is designed like a temple complex - those tend to have organized structure.
2) I don't see the issue with the "dwelling buildings" with Necropolis. I mean, think about it... do the undead really "dwell" anywhere? Skeletons are basically mindless drones - raise them up when you need them and store the bodies away when not in use. Ghosts? They're incorporeal, so why would they need housing? Spiders? Let them nest wherever... better that then a massive spider pen in the middle of "civilization." Lamasu? Same as skeletons. Bone dragons as well. As for liches and vampires... well, people are unhappy enough with the current depiction of them. Do you really want them to sleep and eat like regular people instead of, y'know, doing undead things all the time? The only wildcard in the whole bunch are the Grim Reapers, and even then, I don't think "dwellings" are part of their routine.

Why would they need walls when the town is sorrounded by a deep chasm? While the existing one should be extended to reach the chasm itself, the rest of the town doesn't need walls.

When i say dwelling i am not talking about the creature dwellings. They already have that. I am talking about hero dwellings or basically the homes and resting places for the ones running the town. They are not mindless and even tho they are undead they where alive once. Just because they are dead you think they will loose all their humanity or their lifestyle? Do you think that a high level necro will just be roaming around everywhere with nowhere to do his stuff? I dont think so.
And concerning walls...Well unless the enemy is pretty stupid and wont send their flying units or teleporting ones over the chasms, then you are right, there is no need for walls around the city.

tbh I don't have much of a problem with the spider legs,I actually have to say they look kinda impressive.
Might be because they are so over the top that I stopped caring about practicality
Also while there is a lot of green,it isn't as much as in H6 and has different shades of green,so I think it looks ok.

I'm kind of lost for words about the Necropolis townscreen. I mean, it's exactly the same neon theme as H6 ...
Btw. is that the townportal standing on the pinnacle on the left? Like, a surprise to people when they visit town and walk out the portal and drop directly into the abyss? But I guess that's serve as good feeding ground for Necropolis army, so in that sense it makes sense.
