So yeah there is a chance that we WON'T be a black dragon in the line up and the chance of having loads of elves.
Just throwing it out there.
In case of the Minotaur, I applaud that.
In case of the Blacky, I have great, great doubts that will be kicked, given the role of Dragons in Ashan.
Eh I can see it being replaced by faceless or hydra or even a new unit. After the sylvan vote people thought fury had no chances of winning and the classics will come through.
Did not happen and many people on the website want the faceless even the hydra. The up votes on that hydra comment is baffling me.

Well, if we didn't have Dark Elves in Dungeon, Dungeon would have been very welcome. Why not a race of Faceless or even Raptors or maybe Minotaurs? I would also like evil gnomes to fill that faction, just not redundant Elves.
But alas, we are in the middle of H5 and H6 storyline so Dungeon has to be dark elves.
The best lineup would have been: Haven, Academy, Necropolis, Stronghold, Sylvan, Fortress.
If there's a lack of evil faction, they can always turn Stronghold to an evil faction.

I suspect it will go the same way as the Green Dragon did in the Sylvan line-up. I.E. being the Champion that is present in all alternatives.

Well people are saying they want hydra as a champion is making me quite.... scared honestly.
People shouting black dragon at the start of the voting process and now the hydra is shooting up in popularity asking for it to be the champion. Plus people asking for loads of elves. *sigh*
I hope an expansion for inferno comes soon. :< They said they want all 9 factions in the game if things go well.

Seeing how we get 2 Champions nowadays, I don't see a problem there.
But we'll have to wait for two more weeks of deadlock before we can see.

Wait what? Stronghold as evil faction?
While being disgusted and intruiged by the same time, this has something to it.
But wouldnt that ruin the entire "feel" of the faction? They fight for independence and not being slaves in every game up untill now. Throwing them into a all-out rage and going dark would feel wrong...

not really. Factions change from series to series.
Unlike many other factions, Stronghold is separated. Eastern Orcs can believe one thing and Sahaar Orcs can believe another thing.
We can have a slave to master story-line, which by the way is interesting for me.

Dungeon and Necropolis are included in the game, so Stronghold is likely to be in third place.

The Necropolis controlled by the player in H6 was far from evil and as an enemy they only really featured prominently in Shades of Darkness. I'm not sure they will turn them evil for H7, although the Academy vs Necropolis aspect is back.
I'm also scared for Hydra appearing as a champion, I hope that lineup gets voted out first.

About "evil" Stronghold
One can always make them Blackskull Orcs, from DoC- although that would make them perhaps a little bit too similar to Chaos/Inferno. Also, remember that in HOMM 1/2 Stronghold was considered an "evil" faction, so that's not too far-fetched.

I don't. I thought Hydra felt real nice in Dungeon, considering swamp Fortress is gone..

Any faction can be evil if thats the approach they wanna take. Fanatic red haven, demon cultists dark elves, "Medusa" nagas, World domination plans Necropolis and too-savage orcs have all been done, they werent playable
I like how despite all its faults, the Ashan factions are all gray. We avoid stuff like the Alliance/Horde dichotomy warcraft turned into.

Yup, the grayness is probably one of the stronger aspects of Ashan. Every faction has it's good dudes, bad snows and ugly secrets.
About Warcraft. Well the "Warcraft Universes" base premise is the conflict between The Alliance and The Horde.

Yes but WC3 had made it grow bigger than just that. Sadly WoW regressed and defanged everything

nah, so called "grayness" was clearly overdone in heroes6
presenting bull terrier as a cute puppy

that's a bit of a stretch imo

Not quite sure what you meant by that analogy, but a healthy amount of greyness is a good thing, IMO. We need to have it believable for any two factions to come to blows and not think that it feels out of character. At the very least, there needs to be a reasonable explanation for a conflict, even if it's as simple as a perceived territorial threat.
