Nephretes said: Well, it may be overdecorated, but I like it that way and I think that it fits nicely to the theme.
Exactly! These heroes without their decorations would make town's atmosphere more poor in general.
About creatures:
Scorpion looks of course gorgeous. About comparision of Oasis and Inferno & Tower's creatures, I must point out several things:
1) isn't that Scorpion too big a bit? It looks great, but have you thought about making it smaller, even a little?
2) same question as from point number one goes to Viper/Snakeman
3) Lamassu is HUUUGE, although (again):
Nephretes said: I may be doing Lamassu again..
What about trying to make the model smaller, just a bit, and then add textures? I'm not an expert of 3D graphics, but is there any possibility to do that kind of "operation"?
By the way, have you thought about comparing Lamassu to 7lvl creatures from different towns that are taking 2 hexes (not one as Titans or Devils)? It'd look more presentable and could be more helpful.

Scorpion is evolving again. That is one changing pokemon for sure
So apparently I can't make it happen for that creature to look like 6 lvl, so I may reconsider line up order again.
Who would have thought so many things can change while development
==
Lamassu is one of my first units, I shouldn't start with the most epic creature in town, because now the rest is level behind in terms of quality.
That is why I may be doing it again if I can't upgrade it enough

you definitely improved the scorpion battle def. i was about to post what needed fixed; but you already fixed the hard edges. you should do the same to the wasp, as it's edges create a cookie-cutter outline of it. but i think you already know that, once you compare your work on the scorpion side-by-side with the wasp.
you are progressing quite quickly; i am impressed. i can't wait to see your released town; i'm sure it will be an immediate favorite around here.

The latest scorpion version is definitely an upgrade to the first version. Looks much more like a real scorpion and fits nicely into the game. Great! It is also not decorated much like many original non-upgraded units, e.g. hell hounds, pit fiends, rocs, mages and so on.
I also think it totally fits as a lvl 6 unit aesthetically. Would you really think that naga is a lvl 6 unit just based on its appearance (imagine you didn't know the units!)? I don't think so. And same goes for Wyvern and some others.
I guess the only units types discernible by their appearance are lvl 7 and lvl 1, perhaps lvl 2 units. Devil, giant, dragons and so on are taller and a bit more massive than the others and thereby look more powerful.
Because of this, I would definitely downsize the Sand Ghost a good bit, because its size now rather resembles a lvl 7 unit (compare to giant and devil on the one hand and to mage, jinn, efreet etc. on the other hand).
On the other side, I guess cats are a bit to tall for a lvl 1 unit (compared to gremlins, imps, but it's also bigger than golem!). Same for wasps: wouldn't we think that a gargoyle is taller than a wasp? You might compare them to serpent flies to get another impression.
Like Haregar, I finally think that the viper might be slightly too big. To find out, you can easily compare viper to naga and medusa which are similar units aesthetically.
Concerning Lamassu: my feeling is that the color used for wings, beard, etc. is not fitting to the style of the other units. Also for unupgraded version, not many decorations are needed (compare to other unupgraded lvl 7 units). In this respect, to be plain honest, I totally love the version you showed first with all animations on acidcave: Then, the wings and beard had colours fitting way better (darker hair and brownish wings), which is closer to the look of a statue. Also there were less decorations (and normal Behemoth also has no decorations, right? ). You might compare this version to the other Oasis units and also to original game lvl 7 units to see better if I'm right or wrong.

I am quite busy until the end of this year, so I am working much slower than I used to, but don't worry it won't stop.
Here is a vision of how uprgraded scorpion may look.

lvl 1 unit
Just a small idea about the level one creature.
The cat-like unit's upgrade got breasts. It looks odd to me while they are "walking". Since their walk animations is on all four it doesn't look so well with those boobs in my humble opinion.
Just saying.

I don't know where you see breasts. It is male ugallu.
Btw. I would expect some news about Oasis later this year. For now I am too busy with my life.

Still busy, but I've made battle defs for characters. VCMI allows using separate defs differentiating by gender for each class. In order: Bedouin (might) and Dervish (magic)

Scorpions look amazing, especially the upgraded one. Heroes' sprites on the battlefield and adventure map look even better; they perfectly spread the atmosphere of Your town.
Keep on the good work and good luck with your private life's things.

Lamassu was first creature I have ever made for Oasis. It was kind of stupid to start from 7th unit which is supposed to be the most majestic one...so after I've learned more about 3D I decided to make it again and I hope that this time its appearance is more appealing
As creatures work is getting closer to final stage I will be presenting HD renders and some details to make anticipation more enjoyable (and keep you interested as well).
Despite the spells that would enliven these mighty statues had been long forgotten, the creatures shall wake up from their solid sleep when the city's endangered.
Support unit casting random group spells. Golem (% magic resistance)

Looks very babylonian... (just googled the name, in fact it is) Nice concept, quite unique! good job! Babylonian themed stuff is damn rare in games... but it's quite an interesting historic culture.

Lamassu looks gorgeous. It's great to have a high quality unit that originally comes from Babylonian mythology.
