This is different town than Bastion and they are diversified on purpose. Bastion is egyptian, Oasis is arabic. You will see them both someday

Aww, You are right. I was kinda asleep when surfing here. Of course camel is going to be in bastion, but no nomads are planned for Oasis

So Oasis is not going to be a sand town? What a pity! I also thought about balance issue already, but hoped it's gonna be the first desert town anyway. At the moment, in SoD and HotA, desert is used as "neutral" terrain because no town is native to sand and because sand also has movement penalty. I guess that's also the idea behind the new dunes from HotA (because no one can see the quicksands in the battles).
But I think it would still be possible to have Oasis as a sand town. Because there are more towns than colors / players, not all towns can be used on a map. So if on a map e.g. Stronghold is disabled (by the mapmaker), Rough terrain might serve as a "neutral" terrain for THAT map. On another map, Oasis might be disabled (for sand) or Tower (for snow) or Fortress and Cove (for swamp). This mapmaking strategy is already used for some campaign or scenario maps I think. With such a procedure, it should be no problem to have a sand town included in HotA. Those existing maps, which use sand as neutral terrain, but have only fixed factions (so no Oasis) would not be affected anyway. And sand fits really best for Oasis, no doubt!
If Oasis terrain despite all that will not be sand, it's going to be Rough, I guess?

To tell the truth sand estetically is the only option for a main terrain, but as I mentioned earlier there are some reasons for it to stay as neutral terrain. That topic was widely discussed on acid cave and generally if town is going to be for VCMI I would think about two version, one for sand and one for rough as you have guessed.

I talked a little with HoTa crew, but they don't seem to be interested in Oasis as a next town for their expansion, so propably I don't have other choices than to wait for VCMI to be playable to some extent. Anyway there is still a lot of work to be done and matters can change any time

Edit:
Creature is flying and shooting as a first unit in a game, so basically there won't be many situation to fight from close distance, but if so, here is a prototype:

Thanks for the information about terrain and HotA plans!
I see the discussion in Acidcave is heading towards a catlike lvl 1 unit. This makes sense to me, because, although the lion assassin looked very good, it looked a bit too powerful for a lvl 1 unit

That's a shame. Kudos to you for making such a beautiful town. It could honestly pass for a town made by 3DO.

3DO didn't created any town, it was New World Computing. 3DO was only a publisher.

I like the uniform style applied to all 3 units.
Just a random and as always subjective idea: When Lamassu is a statue and also looks like one, it could also have the Golem property (unliving and resistant to spells). If I understand your idea about that unit correctly, it will be a mass spell caster, so a support lvl 7 unit, which is not yet existing in SoD or HotA up to now. Obviously, balancing will be done later in the process, but just as a suggestion, I think it would fit nicely to give the Lamassu rather low HP (at best 250), but on the other hand Golem ability (with spell resistance of perhaps 50%) besides the mass spell casting ability. This also would fit to the focus on fire and earth magic because the unit could then be partly usable for dracageddon tactics (preferably in combination with resistance skill or artifacts).

I totally agree with you and I think more or less we understood the role of that unit in the same way. Lamassu can be a special creature that follows the rule "easy to play, hard to master"; what I mean is it could be as you said: circa 250hp, mass spell casting ability and Golem-like nature (unliving and resistant to spells). The fact Lamassu is a 7lvl unit can give a feeling to a player that it is the strongest unit of the town, yet it won't be that easy to master it and unleash its full potential on the battlefield.

Besides, in my oppinion Lamassu with health of a regular 7th level's creature and ability of casting mass spells could be named as strong; if it also had a nature of Golem (which would be proper if you look at lamassu from real life) then it could be called as something that is overpowered.

That's why in my oppinion culgil's idea of Lamassu's abilities is good, 'cause it mixes its advantages with a proper power limiatation (i.e. lower amount of hp).

Balancing gonna be the final state of a project, and hopefully I will get some help from people playing tournaments

As for other creatures, I am wondering whether 6 lvl unit should be scorpion alone, or it should have rider as well.

Looks good alone. Boar Riders and Wolf Riders do damage by their wepaons. Scorpion looks strong enough alone. And maybe Quad(ruple) Ballista as a artillery unit... ;-)

Degrade will not have rider, and upgrade will have
Upgrade will have more hitpoints and "FEARLESS" ability.

Since you ask, my totally irrational opinion is it is better to have scorpion alone. Change the color and add some details for the upgrade then is all good. On the other hand scorpion-rider is intriguing.

my opinion is scorpion alone, for the battle def. the upgrade could just be a minor color change, or/with some spikes added().

i never did like the wolf rider/raider. i much prefer the wolf by itself. if you have something riding a creature(besides a horse), it should be the actual hero map def. then it would be cool for a scorpion-rider.

I'd say to leave the scorpion alone; it looks dreadful enough without having a rider. And I must add: great concept on 6lvl unit and even better appearance of the unit.

But going back to riders, I would not like to see them in upgraded version of scorpions. In my oppinion adding some details and darker colours will be enough.

There is no option for base scorpion, and upgraded scorpion rider because
1) To drastical change when creatures in H3 tend to have color change and some additional elements while upgraded
2) Technical reasons: it would force completely new set of animations while they are mostly the same (not counting conflux fire elemental)

I guess I will go for a scorpio alone, and while working of more diversity in colors I think that 6upgr gonna be oil black :>
