Well the current Creature rooster is Approx 101.
The 96 faction creatures and 5 neutral units. One of them (The pirate) has been officialy anounced, 3 could be seen on the screenshoots (Griffin, Eart E., Air E.) (plus there was a lot of talk about the Griffin) and the Fire E. who was talked about by one of the participants of the event.
I would really like to see atleast 6-10 more. 1 elemental, Mermaids, Manticors, ?Namtaru?, Pheonix, and 2-6 new ones.

I hope to see a roc neutral unit. If it could upgrade to a thunderbird that would be even better. Eager to see gold dragons, I was told they would resemble Elrath but I guess that was expected. Maybe a dragon golem for an academy neutral, always liked those.

Most likely we'll get about 10 neutrals or so would be my guess. Pirate, Mermaid, Griffin (+ upgrade), Gold Dragons, possibly Moonix, and at least 4 (and possibly 6) Elementals all seem safe bets. Will we see more than those? I wouldn't count on a lot more, I don't hope for a lot more than those either, but I guess anything's possible in terms of re-using creatures from Heroes 6.

Acid Dragon from acidcave knows the list of all planned creatures for the game including the neutrals but he doesn't even what to give hints
In the comment section he said
 the total number of neutral units will be bit more than a "few"
there are going to be creatures that may surprise us (he, didn't expected them)
Gold dragon is not actually confirmed just because it was once on mmh7 website
Not every faction will have its own neutral unit

Okay, according to every Heroes game, "Few" equals 1-4 and 5-9 is for "several". A bit more than Few is 5 (or even 6). "several" isn't good to measure this number as it's top value is more than 150% higher than lowest.
So we'll have exactly 5 or 6 neutrals. (RoE had 6 neutrals)
we know 2: Sea elf and griffon. There aren't much creatures who can surprie us, so it's probably sea elf.
we have 4 creatures left and they can be not faction-based (we already have them). Mu guess it's Elementals. Can't imagine heroes game with digit in name that doesn't have then.
H7 Neutrals:
Griffon
Sea elf
Air elemental
Earth elemental
Fire elemental
Water elemental
+ to cut the price they might use H6 neutrals. Wolf is in Haven now, switched places with griffon. Phoniex could be an elven creature, but will probably be acceptable via summon spell. (ie not true neutral)
Who are left:
shadow panther, mermaid, elementals of Darkness and Lightness

The sad thing is, it's not even so far out of the way to say this won't happen. Vanilla H3 had only 4 elementals, plus two golems.

Ok, you have interpreted that to literally because I have translated all of that from polish, he used word "kilka" (also between quotation marks) but this word as adverb in english is 'a few' but as pronoun it's 'several' so i wouldn't start guessing the number.
Sea elf is only official neutral creature, so why it would surprise us when we know about it ? He means that the creatures we don't know about will surprise us
He said ""Niespodzianka" znaczy, że będą tam też jednostki, których się nie spodziewałem. Czasami nawet wprost przeciwnie."
"Surprise" means that, there are going to be creatures which I did not suspected. Sometimes even just the opposite.

Well I did ask about neutrals when I was playin the demo and they said there will be more faction neutrals other than griffin. I asked specifically about gold dragons and they ARE in, and will resemble Elrath.
Ill be disappointed to see they added a snowing sea elf if there are not many neutrals.

Eee Green Drag... THe Sea Elf is in.. we know this. they told us and anounced it. Also, in the interwie they spoke about one of the campaigns to be sea focused, so they need some neutrals for it Imho.

- How important are neutrals for the game?
not important at all
- What is the role of a neutral creature?
i guess some fan service and variety. Although even the variety doesn't hold since they are only relevant early in the game (you cant add the to your main army)
- How strong should a neutral creature be?
we are at core/elite/champion system - around the same strength as the average of the given tier
- Should they be recruitable? And what should their price/population be.
i guess some map object should be build to this specific purpose.
- How many should/could there be in the game.
i honestly dont care
- Elementals: Should we leave them out?
i think summoning magic cant really work without them.
