A beta-update, hm? Is it possible that it is also optimized in such a way that it now runs considerably, noticeably and tangibly better on my pc? Settings are still on Low as they were before, and I only reduced resolution just a bit.

Animations in battle are still as broken as before, but the increase in speed (and therefore playability) is amazing. If this kind of optimization continues, I have high hopes for the final release .

the resource arguments were kind of stupid to begin with.  it's not like homm has amazing economic depth, 7 resources or 4

Indeed, the game has never been balanced in a super-cometitive sense. But I don't really think a Heroes can be a balanced, competitive game and remain a Heroes, there are just too many variables, is in its nature.

But if you exclude that, the 7 resource system has worked very nicely in the previous games, offering the player some very needed variety in the adventure map (from mines to battle sites). It's not like they offer amazing depth, but they help to keep the player busy and with a lot of options of what to do and where to go.

I'd be very catious about any change to the traditional resource system, there are many areas where the game can be improved without touching this.

I don t think it s stupid when they are adding stuff to buy or destroy on adventure map. Each resources could have a proper utility (see my previous post : 4 Ressources H7), resume : buy scroll, upgrade ballista, catapult, pyramid for one fight... This is just some ideas.

To resume, with less resources, you can allow a resource to a part of your strategy. Ore / Wood (melt) will allow you to upgrade warmachines, Gold will allow you to buy scrolls, Rare resource to modify an adventure object (whatever you could as well upgrade a mine...)

With 7 resources you can t do this. Anyway they aren t planning do such thing; i understand 7 resource is enought too.. in term of variety but i tried to explain the opposite.

I am unwilling to use the word "bugs" with this game anymore, as I believe that it can no longer describe the situation accurately. Instead, I will use the word "aliens", because the amount of aliens in this game is indeed from outer space, lol

Funny, I am experiencing exactly the opposite . Loading between combat and adventure map used to be slow but is a lot faster now.

They fixed a lot of tooltips information and changed some spell effects. Random leveling up screen doesn't show up now tho (i guess they are revaluating how to implement it or testing if just using the wheel to check out what you randomly got to choose is enough). There are surely more changes that i didn't notice.

t contains a total of 115 hot fixes, including improvements (but not limited to) on following topics:
Multiplayer (desyncs, impossible to join/load etc.),
Combat (“fight again” feature fix and other various fixes),
Adventure Map (caravan “unload all” fix, creature auto stack in garrison, etc.),
HUD (various text/description fixes and more.),
Menu (various fixes),
Skill/Abilities (various fixes).
See patch note underneath for full release note.

It's nice to finaly see the damage of your spells... instead of the ???? you would get on some of them and their effects (and what their damage would be at higher ranks too). Gonna check if Blessing of Arkath actually works now.

Anyways, still a long way to go with this beta to be honest. The game runs about the same for me tho, and well, will need more people to talk about crashes.

Well, the update fixed my severe crashing issues, but the "random" skills doesn't work now : game freezes at level up and eventually I can see the FREE "wheel" but cannot learn the skill anyway.

Click on the Skills icon
Choose whichever of the highlightened options you want.
Click on learn.

The highlightened part is kind of an overstatement, since they are not really good with the eye, but they are there.

That's how it works on random right now. That's what i said a few posts back there.

You get the 4 random options hightlightened for you onm the wheel, instead of the menu that we used to when we leveled up (bug, intended to test out things, dunno, it's weird nonetheless).

Could someone who's got the beta say what the camera is like this time?  One of the small things I didn't like about 6 was that although you could rotate the camera it would rotate back to the default position when you took your finger off the button.  So is Heroes 7's camera like that or more like the one in 5.

Its more like H5, it doesnt rotate back.

Were they? I'm playing on hard and while the cores are still doable (though I need to slow those >300 doggies to evade losses), 300 justicars whipe the floor with my army of a month. And what is worse: they grow faster than my army. In one week they went from <49 to 60, for 5 stacks. That is a total growth of over 50 justicars in one week! The other elites are comparable, with 2, 3 or more stacks of horde or throng elites. Please tell me how that is severely under-powered
