One of the few things that could make this line up better atm would be replacing the striders with manticores

Also I think the melee hero looks pretty bad imo

Regarding the black moth, why is it Immune to Darkness AND Immune to Magic? Darkness would be a different instance?

probably means it won't take any damage from creatures doing darkness attacks. It worked terribly in H6

So it has two immunities as special abilities? Cheapness is a too cheap word to show what cheapness this is born from.

Wait, they're messing with creature attacks so most of them do physical damage while a few units will do elemental damage?

Can't they understand this is NOT a RPG?

That was how it was in Heroes 6, if I'm not mistaken: Some creatures did elemental damage (Fire/Water/Earth/Air/Light/Darkness). I'm actually in favor of this feature, it makes sense in many cases, and it offers diversity in the way creatures will interact with attacks - elemental damage will not be affected by physical damage, and on the other hand, you'll have creatures with certain elemental immunities. This makes it possible to have some creatures that are stronger against certain other creatures courtesy of different combinations of physical/elemental resistance, which for me seems good for gameplay.

Don't make it too easy for me honey, as I said two immunities, I don't care if its immune to poison and immune to undead or Immune to dark magic and immune to magic, they are ALL immunities, which are very cheap ability to have as they have no visual effects and are easy to give to units, no risk at all.

Immunities are boring.

Hm, but this was never something only for the RPG genre. It adds to strategy, also interaction with terrain and environment in general. It all falls into War Strategies, where everything must be taken into account for a better campaign.

I also prefer when there are more elements than the crude aspect of physical and magical only. It also makes more sense having more than 1 elemental spell, or it would have no meaning having that many schools. Everything would be 'magic arrow' and buffs/debuffs.

problem was that some creatures (like dark elementals) were immune to all dark damage meaning one of the (inferno i believe) later missions in the campaign, were you were supposed to defeat a bunch of dark elementals, was completely broken as you could obtain a stack of dark elementals yourself and since dark elementals did dark damage...

Immunity to all damage of a certain type does not make a good game since some units won't even be able to damage them. Resistance is fine but straight up immunity to certain elemental damage is just stupid.

On the contrary, they can be quite amusing. In H6 darkness elementals was immune to dark-type attacks, so liches and ghosts couldn't hit it, nor could they be affected by dark-type spells. Sounds overpowering, but depends on the situation, which can be used well in someone's favor. That's when someone's intellectual capacity grows, as he/she needs to determine what to do, which strategy to use to defeat them, since it is not always about blasting them off with magic.

I don't like it either. Maybe it can add more strategy but honestly I just see it as an excuse to make more bad ashan units who's only difference is their damage elemental type.
Also it's a poor way for them to make faction X better than faction Y

Or conversely, a creature should always do a combination of physical and magical damage (if doing magical damage at all - obviously pure physical would work also). That way you would not have problems with a tiny army being able to take out a massive stack of neutrals just by hero attacks.

if the creature is immune to fire damage it takes at leas 50% damage from creature fire attacks unless it's an ability/effect like magog fireball. That's how i would solve it at least

I am not sarcastic,I mean it,I like a lot Dungeon.
Of course then of the first enthusiasum,I understood that still HOLY ACADEMY is in my heart,but Dungeon can come second instead of Sylvan.

That would help, indeed. However, I still fear it becomes very gimmicky instead of being a solid addition to gameplay. Or maybe I'm old-fashioned and miss the good old days where HoMM development made sense. Oh well
