i doubt you, because you already included unreleased content of my work in a project. you know, just to clarify what i meant by doubting your request of my unreleased content was for "testing". i don't know why you thought posting screens of said content would convince me otherwise. i'm... perplexed.

posso chiedere se è possibile sostituire le città originali di Heroes con quelle create per vcmi,si può fare con un hex editor?

I can ask if you can replace the original Heroes cities with those created for vcmi, can you do with a hex editor?

I hope I won't be necro'ing this thread too much, especially with quite an unrelated question but surprisingly, it's the only place where I've seen this mentioned. How can I remove the map object flags the way it's done in the first post? I'm trying to fix a few bugged objects I'd like to use.

I don't doubt it, but what I was mostly interested in was how do I get my object from a .def file to edit it in photoshop, as a .gif I would assume, then put it back in without breaking everything in the process.

It's not that simple. Def contains bmp frames with indexed colours palettw and 8-bit colour depth. Only such prepared frames can be combined into new def. ERA platform has all necessary tools to work with defs.

here's all you need to know. mmarchive opens .lod/.pac/.snd files, h3deftool makes defs from .bmp images, defpreview opens/extracts/views existing defs, objtxteditor is used to edit or add objects into the game itself via coding(passability and object specifics that you'll see in the map editor). here is a tutorial i made on how to use the objtxteditor.

now the only thing you should need is an image editor(photoshop or something similar).

when filling in holes created by removing flags, use existing pixels in the def. you can copy/paste parts of the original image for replacing large holes(in case you want to remove something larger than a flag). just make sure you blend the edges of what you pasted(make sure the pixels around the hole have continuity) so that everything looks natural.

Thank you, all this is extremely helpful for what I'm trying to do (even if Hota is really different there's still lot of things which are similar) and I'm very surprised I couldn't find those tutorials by googling. I appreciate the help a lot!

updated the op with existing content.

removed all the mutant tree layers and related from the townscreen psd, and added shrunken and recolored versions of the original juggernaut dwellings. i'll have to work on them both(mainly cutting the 1st dwelling and fixing the 2nd), before i can post an updated townscreen in the op.

slowly making the creature reorder transition(frames, creature defs, map defs, object defs, and scripts). once i'm done, all of the Forge creatures will be in the order they were originally designed to be in.

i am willing to share aspects of this unreleased work, to anyone who can help me finish it, zeryss:

i need an exact replica of the townscreen Forge castles, and the town hall/city hall/capitol, but with even lighting on the buildings(not overexposed/underexposed).

if you or anyone can help with that, i'd be more than willing to give unreleased work away before the project is finished.

if it helps to sweeten the pot, i'm not even close to displaying everything i have planned(and have gathered the raw graphics) for Forge map objects...

not a question of which city Forge??
I have at least 4 different versions of cities forge
