The unit i would like to see return is the fate spinner and fate weaver with its dual forms as a strong elite in necropolis. But i know this cant happen any time soon...

We're still working on importing animations from H6, so we'll see if that's possible someday.

in the meantime: good news everyone!

I can now say that the new creatures and White Tigers:
- are now in the map editor
- can be chosen as random stacks (on any map that has random stacks) by the game
- appear alongside of their new faction members in mixed armies (on maps that have mixed armies)

hey mate despite your various insults and salt earlier in the thread, fantastic work here man, even if it doesn't warrant it I got very high goodwill for you and your tenacity to improve this game,

I think if there's one good thing to say for Heroes 7 it's that Unreal Engine 3 can theoretically give it great longevity from the fans (if some miracle worker like Quantomas can overhaul the terrible AI), and already you prove there can be interesting things done like total conversions,
it would be great to see those Axeoth mods taken to the next level someday and have a real 3D Enroth or Axeoth game with new models and all I wish you well with this stuff, eventually in the far future I may even buy the game for 2 pounds if the mods are quality enough lol

The greatest achievement that we as a community can do is to make Heroes 7 a crossroads from all previous heroes games. We can tweak status, import units, change abilities and so on. We need a few more people like AcidDragon to give some interest, constructive discussion and involvement and maybe one day we can have inferno and sanctuary in the game and why not, even the old faction lineups in the game. True it will be by reskined or recolored units with different size and abilities but still it will be something new as well.

For me, this whole initiative gives hope to show what we want from the game in areas that might be 2nd grade compared to skill system and AI but still important. Lineups, customization, content, ui, music, are all stuff we can mod and use to enrich what we have right now and male it more enjoyable.

PS: kappas look good. Do you think they can fit in sylvan as alternatives to dryads? The sylvan core area is too humanoid and kappa could be squeezed in there for now.

the game had a shaky start but its runnin fine for me now
I've played HOMM with my four kids for ages and its always been a favourite

the free campaigns were a plus but its mods like this that REALLY make the game come to life
its no small project these guys have jumped into and I thought any help no matter how small is a good thing

@Dogtown1 - Sorry, I just don't notice Steam invites. I will accept right away .

Have you, by any chance, worked with .fbx animations? This is my current problem. I tried to edit Faceless' animations to turn them into a creature, but so far everything I do results in either the H7 editor crash or an error preventing changes.

Is there any chance that the unapgraded one can be less scaly? Or the upgraded one having something more so that the fire isnt the only thing differentiating them?

hey articun

first sorry I spelled your name wrong in the earlier post

the replacer texture is very close to the original, but it can be done with more color difference still

let me give it another run in gimp and see what I can do

the change I am shooting for is lighter scale/spikes and brighter red skin
sadly I am new to the unreal editor and I don't know how to create new .upk packages so I can preview the new texture in game
I did create
big thanks to Acid Dragon for the preview of what I have so far, I did create a new icon as well to go with the upgraded creature

I hope to offer more texture options for Acid Dragon to choose from in the future in the hopes that I can help in this project

just my opinion... but this is a very exciting new mod for this game

I have also liked your mod page in facebook.

About this mod, i do believe also that it is something very exciting and can evolve to be something really ground breaking for the game if more and more people join in. It can go even beyond changing the units, their abilities, adding new units and so on to adding new music to the game, to balancing out ourselves stuff and even, why not, add new factions.

About the recolored and reskin models and textures, there is no rush whatsoever and you can take as much time you need. After all, all we other people can do is offer suggestions. Whether you hear them or follow them is entirely up to you

I have always been a fun of the idea that the basic version and upgraded version should be distinguishable from the adventure map and not have only minor changes like a cross here or just different colors. For example, Medusa, Soulless, Lamassu and a few more units suffer from this. They are hard to know which is the basic and which the upgrade unless you really Zoom in or you right click on them.

And one final thing that just came up to me. Do you believe it is possible to create a reskin or altered version of the Lamassu to look like a living unit and we can call it Sphinx?

Sure!
While I don't think (at least right now) a sphinx would be a good Academy creature (or any other faction, for that matter), it could be a new neutral one. And we do need a few of those, as the mod took many of them and placed them in towns.

But first things first. Juggernaut, the Faceless (maybe) and we'll see where to go from there.

To be fair, i think that Evil Eyes and Faceless should take priorities so that there can be more diversity in Dungeon.
-Shadow Panthers or Stalkers
-Troglodytes or Evil eyes
-Souless or Manticores (with less purple)
-Medusas or Darkness elementals
-Minotaurs or Faceless
could be a good start

And then, if someone can import units for Necropolis this could be done:
Spiders or Old Lich Models
Banshees or Ghouls
Vampires or Namtaru

The Lurkers unfortunately have too many missing animations in H7 to turn them into a creature, so they are being shelved for now. But we did make a lot of progress with the Faceless.

For now however let me present creatures based on new textures from Dogtown1:

the final look of the unupgraded Juggernaut:


a new, base (unupgraded) form of the Shadow Panther - for now I'm calling it the Cave Panther:


and a new upgrade of the Mermaid (probably will call it the Nereid):

on the artwork the ghost wears a black Dress, could u do that? (-:
and the rakhasha has blonde hair on his artwork, but they are Brown
)-: would Look better if he was as its artwork
