Some bug fixes that were mentioned in the thread and another one I stumbled upon.

[ ] Russian language updated to 1.14 (thanks igrik)

[+] Added custom in-game quicksave name (Ctrl+F9)
[-] Fixed a graphical bug with 'reveal/hide Events'
[-] Fixed a bug with Carnivorous Plant (thanks turboagent)
[-] Included correct Quick Spell panel DEF (thanks igrik)

Also, you now have an option to make custom quicksave name prefixes while in game. Press CTRL+F9 and you will get this dialog:


If the box is left empty, then the default "Quicksave" prefix (or whatever it is set to in your language file) will be used.

Every time you change the custom Quicksave prefix, the save number iteration is reset to 0; this counter is different from the default prefix.

Finally, you can type almost anything you want except for these characters which either break save ability, or just buggy. If you stumble on extra characters causing problems, let me know and I'll add them to the list.

EDIT: on an unrelated note, I was wondering if anyone would like to test a "Morn Battlefields" plugin for SoD - basically adds new backgrounds for your battlefield fights. Message/email me if interested.

I've often thought about a SP add-on but it was something quite different, like good old BAI (Better AI) for ERA, where some bonus are added to SoD or HotA AI players. Would this make sense in this Mod?

No, SoD_SP's first mantra is to not alter gameplay, but provide UI and quality of life improvements. I also patch some shortcomings (bugs) although options are usually provided to use the 'new' mechanic or not.

I hear you; I have some plans for 1.16 already which involves giving some control to mapmakers about SoD_SP options. It's nothing as time-consuming (I think) as 1.15, so in extra time I can look at porting some options. Some things might be quite challenging due to the high editability of ERA; other things are direct ports.

For instance, range of kills can be ported directly, but if Yona is enabled then it shouldn't activate. Or I can simply leave it out.

Right now, the graphics you use don't include WoG creatures? Or it simply reads interface defs from existing lods?

Thanks a lot! So you've eventually decided to make unhireable heroes able to retreat/surrender, am I right?

Yes, I thought about it for a while and it felt more natural. The moment they are defeated they are gone. Now that I type this, I realize I didn't check what happens after a week in tavern after retreat, probably still gone but I'm not 100% certain.

I use original files except what you see in SoD_SP/Data/.
For battle queue, since there was no Turret def, I created one turret frame which gets added to cprsmall.def as frame #151.

Yeah, they disappear after a week. It makes sense though. I'll test this feature more in the next few days.

And of course, these fixes are especially welcomed!

I didnt find where i could report about bugs. Sorry if it s offtop.
Playing SoD with the last hd mod version 5.0 rc9. By clicking on some units with shift+ctrl keys they are spliting, but stack imaged like 0 units there are. And next click is crash the game. Do you nid some logs or something else?
I repeat this is the best SoD'plugin with so much fixes and features!

This is a result of the 'don't split non-positive' fix - I'm gonna have a look at it. Unfortunately I was lazy and only checked the fix with stacks of 0 or fewer creatures.

EDIT: fixed, the 3 zip links have been updated. The self-extractor is not yet updated because I lack some files here - it will be up tonight. Second edit will be up when fixed.

Hello everybody!

Congratulations, Rose! Excellent job as always!

I have been trying to enable the left and right side panels. I set the source size to resolution 1074x660 but the panels didn’t show up although the respective values in the SoD_SP file are set to “1”. What’s more with that screen resolution only five heroes are visible on the right side of the adventure map screen. Can you guess what I am doing wrong?

On the SOD SP plugin page under bug fixes it reads:
“Heroes’ maximum movement is recalculated in several instances” &
“Hero movement is correctly updated within a given player’s turn”.
Are these fixes the same?

I would like to ask what you mean by “Faerie Dragon’s creature dialog text has been corrected”. I guess that you are not referring to “offensive spell caster” text because this hasn’t been changed.

I would like to ask if it is possible at some point to give the options:
1) to restore the multiplayer icons from main menu and load menu because these menus have now a gap instead of the icon and
2) to remove the chat icon on the bottom right corner of the screen which opens the "Multiplayer is disabled" frame (just a reminder!).

Once more thank you for this great plugin!

Panels
1074x660 is the minimum resolution; anything larger should be fine. Did you completely overwrite your previous installation? Or try to wipe everything/reinstall? If that doesn't work, get in touch please.

Maximum movement vs Movement bugs
* maximum movement is the maximum number of movement your hero will get on the next turn, should you end your turn right now. There were some instances where it would be updated (e.g. visiting Stables) and others where it would not (e.g. using 1-2-3-... HD suits, visiting Lighthouse, etc.). It has 0 impact on gameplay unless you're trying to abuse the Admira's Hat bug.
* movement bugs are actually several things packed into one, I will highlight the two main ones.
1- recalculating movement of hero after retreat/surrender - when the hero was in a boat, there was no refactoring to land movement. So you could have a hero with Dwarves, no equipment, no Logistics that suddenly has 5000 movement points on land because he retreated while he was in a boat.
2- dismiss/rehire - if you dismiss HERO A on your turn then go to the tavern - he's not available. However if you keep inviting heroes, or use the 'Invite Hero' feature, suddenly HERO A is back in the tavern with 2000 movement. Basically, you can trade infinite gold for infinite movement points. That's a mechanic that does not exist in the base game (the closest is upgrading units or buying artifacts - still you don't see the gain until next day). So if you try to do this, your hero will not get new movement points, they will keep decreasing naturally. In order not to penalize another player that may hire him on the same day (but not on your turn), heroes that are in the tavern have their movement recalculated whenever a turn is passed.

Faerie Dragons
If you opened the Creature Dialog (with statistics and animated creature...) Faerie Dragon has an extra button that allows you to set your current battlefield action as this stack's creature spell. However the text for this extra button was wrong - it said 'Woodmill' or something like that. Now it says 'Cast spell' or its translated equivalent based on game files.

Multiplayer Icon
It is not coming back. The best I can do is evenly space out the icons in the New Game and Load Game menus.

Chat Icon
It's on the to-do list. I've managed to partially remove it but the resources bar has to be stretched and the date text moved as well.

Archive is fine, its corrupted because you are trying to open it with an  old Winrar version. I had the same problem before i down.. hm, bought 5.5 version.
