Anything else than a gaming PC and a 3-years old mid-range phone I don't have. The game itself is surely made to have controls optimized for switch and consoles (so UI won't be like the old one, which was amazing), so another minus for me. And there's no more looting at all, either, because on switch or console you can't frantically tap hundreds of times to run away from enemies and try another hundreds times to take their loot. Such a shame.

No. Why would they do that?

Baronus

I think that KB is only official sequel of MM which can be accepted becouse dont waste brand producing boring and weird products. Is another than orginal NWC world but is good too.

True. The first three (with addon, especially the 3rd) were awesome. However, the 4th is buggy, imba, good idea but bad storytelling, etc. In that one you can see the team was other than the one for the products before.

And now, KB2 is produced by a 3rd team, basically.

I asked because in the dev diary 2 they say how great are Legend and Armored Princess are but don't say anything about Warriors of the North and Dark Side, they look like they have not been made by Katori and really lame compared to the work they did prior (teddious, bad quest support, barely any novelty, etc...) ...

No, Warriors of the North with the expansion is actually pretty amazing (bugs are no more now), tbh, somewhere on par with the first two, even tho they weren't made by the same people. However, the Dark Side is another story...

Edit: Exactly. Plus, bad storytelling.

Dark Side cumulate all the weaknesses of the previous ones and artificially add novelty with the evil side stuffs, along with plentyfull of cliches bound to the theme...

So, instead of doing the most logical thing (adding an online duel mode to any of the games since The Legend), they made a high-budget "cinematic"  title that has no guarantee to bring profit after the embarassment of the last two games?

Yeah, that's gonna work.

They probably didn't even had the source code since they are mostly new devs and such, but true, they've done a risky thing which I don't seem to like.

And why is the 3rd considered so bad? With the DLC, it was more than okay (somewhere around my fav KB. The Ice Dragons and the vikings are awesome). And the newer KB games (those after the one decades ago) are anyway "older game + few new stuff + other story", so I don't see a problem. And its bugs are almost no more now.

And if the 3rd was bad, then in comparison, H6 and H7 are totally worthless for any sum of money.

I am... slightly excited and cautiously optimistic about the game after having watched the dev diaries. This is indeed a new take on a TBS strategy game. The RPG looks similar to what Larian Studios have been doing with their games, to great success. And the tactical strategy seems to implement two changes which I've been an advocate of ever since Heroes 7 happened: limited stack numbers; change in tactical combat layout.

Not sure how old KB players feel about the changes, but as a player who's never touched the series but only looked from afar, this mix of elements and changes provide a good reason why I should get into it. It's something new and different from what's been done before with no shortage of potential to create a good experience.

On a tangent, I can't help but wonder if this is what JVC had in mind for Heroes when he said he wanted to add more RPG to the game, like literally have interactions like you'd see in RPGs, a 3rd person view, story progression focused on an individual and not on a whole army or faction, different NPC interaction depending on system of beliefs, etc. At the time, the only thing that seemed more RPG-ish to me is how we got heroes on the battlefield instead of being just army carriers, but I can't remember the last person who was excited about Heroes 4 that way.

Most old KB players feel bad. Limited stack numbers (now really, 12 as a limit!? In old KBs you at least had a certain leadership value and depending on that you controlled hundreds of Knights and 10+ dragons in the end-game), over-shoulder camera, The Witcher rip-off feeling, no more looting from enemy stacks, no more fairy-tale fantasy look, etc.

I mean, yeah, for new players who want a different game, KB2 might be ok, based on actual standards, but as a continuation of the old KB games, it really isn't, since most of the old players waited years to see a similar KB with several new creatures, map objects and new story be released (or just a remake of the old engine).

But again, they said "2" signifies their new "start" (so basically KB2 is just inspired by the older KBs, and not really a continuation, just like with HoMM), so someone should not put them in the same soup, especially since most devs just started working at 1C.

Russian players also complain about higher than top-notch games prices (I do the same) and the fact that it doesn't say Windows 7 compatibility on Steam. Its price will be ~40 Euros the base game, and full-game with a new quest and some new creatures and minor stuff added will be 85 Euros

Guess this explains it.

And HOMM6 is great, but not perfect !!!

Why Dark Side don't have any of the improvements of WotN + Ice and Fire (especially) and why the vikings and amazons DLC doesn't provide any princesses to your roster as its supposed to be ?

It does provide princesses. Infinite of them, if you know the trick. Well, I&F was made in collab, so probably that's why.

From Russian fandom:

"You can get an unlimited number of princesses by completing the tasks of Ockland and Amazonia and coming to the king with the queen in Ockland in a tattered shoe."

So basically, visit the married viking king wearing his father's boot.

RIP another one once good franchise.
Exclude the logo "KB II" from the video. And now the question is: how is this game connected or reminiscent of King's bounty? No way... Why then is it called King's bounty II? Because the authors want to lure the audience of the older games. And you know what, the audience will come there to see, but will not see the true sequel. If the game would simply have any other name than there would be no objection.
