Indeed, those are lights inside the mine shaft. Otherwise, the specific asset is a WIP and I have in plans to make its annexed structure easier to read. In fact, the asset itself is years old, even older than the very first assets for Palace. ![](images/smilies/smile.gif)

I'll give you a hint: history.
@LordInsane
While King Gryphonheart and his resurrection do relate very much to the Castle faction, we do not have his lich form as a Castle hero.

I just came here to write something controversial.
This mod looks like it will be as polished as HotA, but more
lore and casual friendly with more interesting factions.
Perhaps it is to early but DoR>HotA

I also found a sandbox page for DoR on the Heroes III wiki. The standout things to me are Succubus/Lilim and Illithid/Alhoon from Tides of War having pages, Jarl being the Might hero for Palace, and there being Light and Dark Elementals, Tritons, and four unknown neutral creatures listed. AFIAK none of that has been confirmed in this thread, but I might be misremembering.
EDIT: The smiley face is breaking the link. Here it is with a space to break it up.

Light and Dark Elementals have been confirmed to be in in some way previously - in that same post I quoted from earlier, there's a mention that light and dark elementals haven't been forgotten, but will be "more special than just some alternates".
EDIT: I am a bit surprised at Illithid/Alhoon. They are perhaps a bit too blatant D&D-isms (even more blatant than Gorgons and Beholders), and of course the "Alhoon" seems more like an Ulitharid than an Alhoon.

To be fair, I have not actually interfered with the alternate creatures' info, so what you see is mostly guesses (especially in regards to the "Mind Flayers", which suffered the greatest changes).
Otherwise, I'll see about how and if to convey the reader that the info itself is not taken directly from DoR (most of it is from ToW, which is somewhat just as outdated as beta H3 or the Factory shown in the old videos), or whether to remove it altogether.
At the end of the day, I have to keep in mind that the wiki pages should 99% rely on public information, and be written from a non-dev pov (remember the old Factory page, for example).

Regarding the alternative creatures: In case you can and want to tell us at this point, will there be exactly one alternative per faction or not necessarily?

Yes, I figured the planar connection could be more a "in a description of their lore in the Heroes 3 period (post-H2 to end of Sword of Frost), it would be mentioned" than a "it is an integrated aspect of the faction itself" (like your example - King Gryphonheart would undoubtedly come up when you talk about H3 Erathia, and therefore Castle's lore, but he's only ever off-screen, dead, or in Necropolis in the campaigns); there just isn't there much else to theorize from yet given it's a mystery town.

True enough. I mostly posted that to clarify it a bit, as much as I could (well, the team convened to not talk too much about the town right now, as to not spoil it just yet).
And since you said "planar connection", I can state that some of the lore (and visuals, in fact) in MM8 could actually reveal some more about the town, if you pay attention. Granted, you need to know where to look, but this is enough hints for now, anyway. ![](images/smilies/wink.gif)
P.S. Thanks to whoever made that "Speculative" template on the wiki, in case it's one of you guys (or just a lurker).

The only person that comes to my mind is DonKo from the HotA crew. In other forums he has such a name.

Technically Terrasque, but otherwise there are several community members who have become active contributors to the wiki and pretty much run it and discuss various features and additions both on Discord and the wiki's talk page.

The Terrasque would actually make a pretty cool heroes' monster. Like a ~T5-7 which was invisible but easily tameable, so if it was the only unit left on the battle field it joined the opponent's army.

That was someone's nickname.
Mythological Tarasque would have been nicer.
Also, I think HOMM cities need a bit more originals/not direct DND lifts (source mythology and heraldry, as there are TONS of things out there), because a lot of people already do not look into MM lore, and outfitting the game with further DND beasts genericises it too much. Or atleast take weirder stuff like howler wasps.

It's probably a topic for another topic, but that's why I mentioned the tame-ability. Like in the original story. But Homm is super whatever-was-popular-at-the-time inspired. Starwars, the Matrix, DnD. So it would fit.
Anyway, now I know thelazy lore.
