Poll Question:
Let's have a Chess Tournament!!!!!
I think that we have all played Heroes quite a bit, but I think that we should have a chess tournament. We could have a 16 player tournament tree.
or
It could be a "challenge the champion" match
Ex: I start off as the champ. Cat challenges me. I will. Sir_Elric challenges me. Sir_Elric wins. Now people challenge the champion.
If you lose you have to wait until another person challenges the champion before you can challenge the champ again.
Ex: Sir_Elric beat me already. Sir_Elric is the champ. I can't have a rematch against Sir_Elric (or another champ) until someone else plays him.
Which one would you rather have?
If not give a better idea

I say let's just have two simultaneous single elimination brackets...well one to begin with.
After reach round though, when someone loses in in the first bracket, he gets dumped into the second so then the second bracket is basically one round behind...but if the players get together and play faster they can catch up.
Anyway, from the second, if you lose a second time, you're out for good. Then the two brackets play out, and in the end, when there are two players left in the first bracket the winner is the 1st place champion. Then the loser of that match plays the overall winner of the second bracket, competing for 2nd place...and there's no 3rd place because that wouldn't be fair. But of course we can always create honorable mentions

First we'll need another 6 or 14 additional players. So if we don't have enough it will end up being free-challenge by default.

Never been that good at chess, but still, a tournament sounds like fun . I'll be up for it, so long as time zone differences don't make it too inconvenient.

chess tourney sounds fun and u can count me in BUT the msn gameing zone applet is ugly slow and annoying. why dont use the chess applet of www.pogo.com ?
and what rules will be played ? time limit or not ?

I noticed that we have 12 players and only 4 votes.
We have 3 votes for a free-challenge and 1 vote for some kind of a tournament tree.
So everyone who is playing needs to vote to determine what will happen.
I will be gone until the 4th of July, because I'm going to a football camp.
If it's a tournament tree, it will look like this:

motorschaff vs. Hexa (if fast style play)

You have to register there to get your own handle or else you will appear as quest. Don't worry, it is 100% free.
And when you put your seek you can put "m" to additional. Then you can manually accept games.
You can also chat with people there. Just double-click on terminal. By the way, my handle is Salaris there.
