yes i think that crusaders should not be a lvl 7 creature imagine what will happen when they fight dragons!

crusaders lvl 6
i think that archangels are one of the kewlest looking units in HOMM3 with the kewlest special (come on... how can a free resurrect be beaten?). well mebbe the black dragon has a kewler special... but not being able to cast prayer or something on them does get annoying. ANYWAYS... i think the whole cavalier and champion unit was sort of a misfit. vesuvius is right... there should be a paladin sort of character... when have u seen a "crusader" in any other game without a steed? crusaders & champions are essentially the same unit just with diff specs. also a fallen angel or angel of death would be perfect as an enemy for an archangel.... just one more quirk i have... why dont medusas have a ranged stone gaze... in "real" life all they had to do was look at you... not be in melee... but oh well its time for me to take my meds

Ah, I don't know what to think anymore. To me the words, Crusader, Champion, Paladin are words which have been used and abused. In Warhammer the champion in a wimp; just a little better than the unit he is with. I understand Crusader's and Paladin's to be those who have committed great deads of good. So it's probably ok to say that they have the favor of the Gods or God giving them more than average abilities. I would miss the ability of the Angels to ressurrect units though. I don't think the human units would or should have this ability.
Most of the units in the game are fantasy creatures anyway so I would not worry too much about what's realistic. Lets just make new and fresh and at the same time well balanced. 3Do has always managed to entertain me berfore and I trust they will do so again.........just hurry up,PLEASE!

Angels and Arch Angels were always seen to me as immortals. HOMM 3 proved me wrong. Still, if there is going to be angels/Arch Angels, there might as well be Fallen Angels and Fallen Arch Angels.
P.S. to Incumbus: Where did you get that cool pic of the fallen angel (If thats what it is)?

Devils=angels
That is 100% right! But there is another quite more important thing-devils must not only be present they must be stronger! From all I know about these nothing explains and demands that devils should be weaker than angels! By the way I have a cool idea of what the archdevils might be capable of- Temptation: temporary ressurecting (temptating) of a number of dead enemy monsters. This is just like archangels' Ressurection but here you are casting on enemy creatures, so they fight for your cause TILL The END OF THE BATTLE!Otherwise you would be able to get some Azures for free for example which is not OK! One another thing-if your devils die the ressurected die too! Number of temptated depends like in Archangels' ressurection on the quantity of devils!Who hasn't heard stories about devil temptating sinners-this the most famous ability of satans that these guys from 3do have obviously forgotten or may be they have defeated some in real and they think them weak and giftless or may be they are affraid that small kids would start to like them?! Those who read that stuff must know that good doesn't grow stronger by making evil weak-only the game soffers!

ANGELS should exist Devils too and they must be equally strong!As for realism-if that is an argument than all the game is a waste 'cause it is not a simulator, actually it is called HEROES OF MIGHT and Magic-very realistic isn't it!Angels should also exist because they represent the idea of " most powerfull soldiers of good" for more than half the people during all mankind history since the last 2000years so it is much more normal for them to be the upmost level in the Castle!Crussaders,then,are more famous with their campaigns against Mohammedans and they do not meet such ideals-as a matter of fact every pikeman in Europe in the 14 (not sure)century has been a crussader!You may ask what has that to do with the game? well,you see that all creature are part of legends and different cultures, there is no creature named John neither Archijohn.What about angels "nature"-angels are not just good and peacefull-they are known to be perfect in all good affairs, including fighting evil(devils). As for archangels-these are angel-saints or very strong angels-haven't you heard the story of St.George defeating the Beast-he is an Archangel and if you examine some drawings you will see he has wings!The problem is that they are not more than 5-6 while in the game they may reach...but that is less important.And to conclude-you said that you don't want any devils,but realise that without evil we can NOT value good, in fact angels and devils are part of everyone's life(not really mean it)no mind if he ignores or minds them he can't divide them!

Actually I agree with you, although their moving is cool!Also "Devils" must be stronger,some special ability for example-by the way there isn't a picture of a devil in the Bible,is there, on the opposite-it says that Lucifer is a fallen angel,what is more the most powerfull and some more- he is known as the "Angel of Light"(???!!!)So I vote for dark- looking- angels, moving like the former devils and doing smth. special which should be equally useful to angels' Ressurection!Temptating enemy creatures for example(temporarily)!

of course angels are better than these crusaders..in homm2 they didn't show the best preformance (like titans or black dragons)..i think that they could be included in castle but not as 7th level creatures..

as far as i know, the swords of the crusaders, etc, were cross-shaped (together with the hilt), because this shape was believed to support the wielder with some divine protection. and it looked different than the sword of the crusader on the homm4 picture.
