So if you were to extend this debate it would follow that there could only be one of many creatures from mythology etc etc, I think bringing this to a religious debate on how many angels there supposedly were is ridiculous!
The thread is about a game, not a scripture!
So yeah, Crusaders rock, I could give or take Angels, but as said before you need strong opponents for these creatures, take away one and it really needs replacing or the enemy taken out as well.

Uh hun... I still think that the angels and devils should go. Because having Devils and such could be a bit offensive to sertain religions, and if you want a castle town, you're going to need more midevil units than mythologic.

Devils and Angels, I think, after playing Heroes III and Heroes IV, interfere with the fantasy atmosphere too much in the way that they are now. Substitute good old fashioned fantasy demons for Devils, however, and you have yourself a deal. Angels need to be less medieval Christian-ish and more fantasy looking. I know that sounds rather cliche, but I'm thinking rather than armor, etc. a more incorporeal, spritish looking thing.
Argh, now I'm questioning myself as to if that's what I really want. I dunno. To tell you the truth, I could care less about the petty Knights, but that's just me

Angels should be the highest, with Crusaders (not the ones on horses, the HOMM2 ones a close second. Only because Crusaders can't fly and they're not from Heaven.

if i didn't misunderstand, we are talking about medieval christian-ish angels being armored.
well, relatively, but i would rather say that they are unarmored.
imho a typical medieval picture of an angel(http://www.abcgallery.com/B/bosch/bosch33.jpg) (lower left).
also, while searching for the first picture, i found one with a bit different angel on a hill(http://www.abcgallery.com/B/bosch/bosch67.jpg) , a more spiritual version of an angel, as it seems to me, and perfectly medieval. what might be intriguing in this picture is the winged serpent-tailed creature in the lower right that does seem to wear some armor.
maybe an angel was not associated with being some grim heavily armored brute in the medieval people's mind.

How can you think making the crusader the best creature in the castle?Where is the fantasy?It's a man in an armor...it's powers are low comparing to a titan...imagine a man killing a titan.So what if the devils are gone from hV?(it's an awful thing) they could make a story to invent another enemy for the angel(archangel)..the fallen angel seems a good ideea...but they could make up a story like the dragons with the devils attacked the angels to exterminate them and the angels managed to kill the devils but the dragons escaped and from now on they will search to kill every dragon they would encounter.this is a story...it could be such a story.The crusader would make the castle too human....too boring....there has to be fantasy.

crusaders are not the strongest unit that can be recruited by normal people(a.k.a. castle town).since angels were interpreted from babies in some pictures i saw,now I hope this is not blasfemmy!!!!!,to some real strong schwarzenegger tipes,seemes like a good idea,but should go without the beard..

Yeah, PLEASE do not revive topics that have gone extinct except if you still see a relevance of the topic. This topic is from 2003 (!!!) and refers to ANOTHER VERSION OF THE GAME than the one currently in discussion. So please, think twice before you flood the forum in all these pointless topics.
