Nothing. You did nothing wrong because you haven't been given a proper, understandable explanation. Allow me to try. Forget the previous explanation, the last time I tried to install a .wog file it screwed up my game and forced me to reinstall. Dunno about you.
THIS PROCESS INVOLVES TAMPERING WITH THE DATA FILES! IT IS NOT EASILY REVERSED SHORT OF REINSTALLING YOUR GAME! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
1. Now that that's out of the way. First, download this pack. You'll need WinRar or WinZip to open it. Then download ResEdit 2.
2. Extract the .def files using WinRar or WinZip. Put them on your desktop or something.
3. Now open ResEdit 2. Click "Open" and navigate to your Heroes III directory. Once there, enter the "Data" folder and open "h3sprite.lod" within.
4. Now open the "Edit" tab, above the Open icon, and click "File Manager". The File Manager will appear on your right. Navigate to the Desktop, or wherever you extracted the .def files earlier.
5. See there, in the window below the folders? The .def files in a list? Drop and drag them into the .lod archive. To do this, just drag their names into the window full of data files. Each time, you will be met with a confirmation message...
6. ...say "OK" each time. Once they have all been put into the .lod file, click the all-important "Make Changes" button to confirm the changes for good. Now you can exit the archive and play the game with Metalpiss's brand new Efreet Sultan.
7. Drop me a splendid little thank-you note, or let me know if there's a problem.

No way - but i won't argue due to respect to h3. But h5 is just like h3, just with better graphics, better balance, better skill system and so on and so on... And i wouldn't agree that h4 is the worst but this thread is created not for those purposes so...
Anyway to expiate my guilt i will post my creatures and i think that these will be my last:

 - Summoner
 - Agent (Forge commander - probably  )
 - and i think it's my best creature - Legionist
 - Peasant leader
 - Stand Ballista controler
 - Horse Warrior

I said it before, I use 3ds max, which is not free.
I think Animat8or is quite capable of making creatures for heroes 3, since it can render and animate. Don't know how well you can model with it though, but seems ok. Also I don't know how good the particle emitters are or if it has any.
A better choice for a free program would be in my opinion Blender, which is far more advanced than anim8or.
But if you meant that if it's easy for someone who uses anim8or to transfer to 3ds max, then I don't really know because I haven't really used anything to a full extent besides max. You might find it more complex than ani8or, that's for sure.

Ok, I will play the comments game here
Evilhydra, you should work more on the horse. Undeads in Homm3 don't even have skeletal horses. The dragon head is a good idea, try do make it more dead.
Anyway, you didn't touch anything from the black knight, maybe some improvement here too

If you are talking to me,then know,that i loved much creatures and choose 3 of them is kinda hard job especially including that there are 123 pages in this thread,and my first post in it is on 16 page or something like this if you are talking to Hydra,then sorry
