Well, if it's any consolation, the spanish review confirmed that the map maker is extremely powerful and easy to use...
Also, I usually don't like spanish voice acting, but since the spanish version of the game is the one I will get at least I'm glad they didn't exaggerate in accents unlike the english dub.

@ SKPRIMUS
I always read so much about chess here !!!but!!! in Chess you do not have a map, a city, resources and your unites do not grow, Each side has the same "Unites" and the only difference is "I started first".
Evethou Heroes has a strong Chess feeling I would really like if EVERYBODY on this formu fould stop comparing those two games.
Chess has a coplex strategy system that is as deep as it can. But still, Heroes has so many features, that it cannot be balanced and at the same time have de depth of Chess. I would even say, it cannot be balanced
It is like to compare the changes in Laboratorial enviroment and outdors.

@Dave_Jame, the only reason I mentioned chess is to highlight there are very little random circumstances & I do not play it because you can say it has lots of depth, strategy etc but it doesn't 'hook' me for a long time like heroes can...meaning lack of randomness can be a bad thing when looking at games imo...nothing else was implied! (& from your post it looked like you were agst some changes but nvm)

Quote: Elvin wrote Quote: ...The good AI will be in the actual release...
But the review I read dated 11 Oct did not think so???
I am sorry, I wasn't exactly clear. To have the game that early, a reviewer no doubt must have had the press version of the game. It is easy to see that the game is much smoother and stuff but at the time it had not received its AI enhancement. The press version was not the same as gold.

Quote: Yeah, if it was up to me, healing would not resurrect fallen creatures. Neither the healing of Sisters, Coral Maidens and Ghosts and nor the Heal spell. Only life drain, resurrection and necromancy should be able to bring them back from the dead.
Then I am really thankful it is NOT up to you.
The new Ghost and the Coral Maiden are two of the main reasons I decided to give in and finally pre-order the game last Sunday - despite the missing town screens.
The new healing unit abilities are right at the top of my "good things about HOMM6" list - which by the way does not happen to be very long.
This is a change the HOMM series desperately needed. HOMM3 group nostalgia might make us all feel warm and fuzzy inside, but let's not get carried away here: The old "healing" (as in filling up the health bar of a single unit) has traditionally been one of the most utterly useless abilities in the entire game series: Marginally useable early, underpowered inbetween and a mere filler for the spellbook in the late game.
On the other hand, I feel the new resurrection abilities fill a strategic game gap. If some factions are better at killing units, other should be able to bring them back.
Now we just need Ubi to balance that fine equilibrium properly and we have a winner...

Apparently you haven't participated much (or at all) in the beta testing to see the around a hundred issues with all this healing orgy.

On the contrary, it is the part I enjoyed the most.
You are talking about balance issues (healing abilities being OP and available too often) while I praise the improved gameplay tactics.

These "tactics" will be a pain to balance and if they can't be balanced, their presence achieves just the opposite of the intended. Judging from how Heroes V was re-balanced and how the balance issues in the bate have been addressed, I prefer to remain sceptical, thanks.

He is talking about the fun of it as a feature. And I have to agree myself, it is fun but no doubt a pain to balance.

I have had the exact same reservations about free resurrection as Kodial has, and think it could afford to be scaled back dramatically, but more so because it severely reduces risk and adds to the time games take than "just" pure balance concerns (which are obviously valid too).
Even so, healing does coincidentally happen to suit Haven, Necro and Sanctuary as a faction trait - I sort of hope any future towns added would help to balance out the overuse by relying on it less. The "healing towns" outnumber the others at the moment.

This thing with the duplicate designs is going too far. What the Hell kind of budget did Ubi give the game anyway? Their mom's weekly allowance?
Nevermind the minimal differences from basic to upgraded unit. They were never anything much, although this time around I had hoped to see more essentially different designs between basic to upgrade. But to have now even "special heroes" to be just copies, is very disappointing.
By now, I'm seriously worried that the when Dungeon is going to return in H6, they will have a medusa only because they can duplicate the Coral Maiden. Not to mention they might make Sprites out of the Light Elementals/Radiant Glories for a Sylvan faction.
I mean, they don't even bother to change the artwork, not even their pose! They just recolor it and there you have it. Imagine how the in-game design's gonna be like...

I don't want them to go all Digimon on us, I like subtle changes.
Too bad Ubi is also lacking in the subtle department...
