Maybe he didn't quit the game and just put it on standby. Some people don't turn off their computers very often. And the counter was ticking...
Or with the limited time of beta, maybe he was trying to get as much as he could from it

So I just got into phase 2 of the Beta by accident. When is is supposed to start? Do I run it on Steam? Thanks in advance.

26th August. Phase 3 will likely begin on September 3th, but you have to pay for that one.

I noticed that today Humble Weekly Bundle - Might&Magic started. Basic games' pack (so pay 1$ or more to unlock) include Heroes 7 Beta.
Nice thing for those who haven't played Beta yet or planned to have access, but didn't have time to do it or were too busy by then (like me when there was that event: buy one Might&Magic game in UbiShop and get access to Heroes 7 Beta). Now I found some time and will to play Heroes a bit, so I think I'm gonna buy that access.

How do attacks work in this one? Do creatures attack simultaneously like in H4, or is the standard faster troop hits first? I hope it's the former. The latter IMO puts too much advantage on faster units. Even though H4 had some AI and balance issues due to being released too soon, it did introduce some great ideas and features.
