He certainly is a threat to establishment Republicans just as Sanders was to establishment Democrats.
It is certainly interesting that we have gotten to a point where Trump of all people, is considered a serious presidential candidate.
What irritates me the most about presidential elections is it just goes to show how truly ignorant the majority of Americans are about what powers the president actually has.

i don't think "interesting" is the word you're looking for. i don't think there even IS a term to classify the current election candidates, other than the very bottom of the barrel. that people are voting at ALL, especially in this election, blows my mind. that trump or clinton will come out on top, blows it clear out of orbit. how can anyone vote with this collection of vermin, and moreso, AIM for the worst of them to be president? have we entered an alternate reality, or something? has the state of society gotten so bad, that the majority only strive to do everything they can to finally COLLAPSE everything? it's not just in politics, but EVERYTHING.
a couple years ago, i thought for sure that we didn't have long. now, i await the end almost daily. i seem to be one of the only people in the united states who actually want to IMPROVE things, instead of flush everything down the toilet.
voting when there aren't any good candidates is snowing retarded. you're just enabling a system that doesn't care about you. because you VOTED, you deliberately said it was "ok", for the bullsnow to not only continue, but to give it the chance to get worse.
case in point: look at what happened with the heroes franchise under ubisoft. people bought the snowty games, ubisoft made more snowty games; and each time they got worse, just to see what they could get away with. the least effort, for the maximum profit. you don't think that applies EVERYWHERE? you're deluding yourself. it's a business. there's money to be made, power to be used, and people to swindle.
guess who's getting swindled?
hint: it's not the people who are voted into office.
and this is IF the voting system is actually legitimate. which i have my strong doubts, that it is.
I agree with you on that one, fred. Voting for the sake of it is irresponsible, and not patriotic and bullcrap like some people make it out to be. It's why I made it my principle to vote only when I'm convinced that I can fully get behind one candidate with a clear conscience that I did my best, reason why I never voted before and probably never will.

When two candidates are horrible, you can vote the lesser evil. Usually there is an issue that is more important to you, so the pick can be made. At least for me this has been the case.

That's why if it'd come down to a choice between Clinton and Trump, I'd hold my nose and support Clinton. But I live in California, so my vote isn't going to make a difference, so it's entirely safe to support a third-party candidate. So I'll most likely be voting Libertarian, if I get around to voting at all.

I jest of course, but it doesn't mean I'm not disgusted.

I live in Michigan, which has been a blue state since 1998 and most likely will not change, especially after both Sanders and Clinton swooped into express their outrage over the Flint water crisis. I don't see how the state could vote anything but Democrat after those two expressed their sincere concern for Michigan's 16 electoral votes poor citizens.

I'd still legitimate evil, so no thanks. If there's no good alternative, then there's no good reason to vote at all.
Yes, but most people don't think that way, and still vote the lesser evil, or what they think is good, and so the system continues in the same way
1) people vote for the winning candidate and they think they have the power when in reality they give the power to a single person who makes promises that he rarely/never keeps, or 2) they vote for a losing candidate.
I think our Media is really distorting things. Bottom-line, how the heck could the non-elite Americans ever be sure they are reading/hearing the truth? We can't, or Sander's message would be sweeping this whole nation and <start choking voice> "the race" would be over.
This "lesser of two evils" has been going on for decades now and is not voting the answer? No. It just means I have no vote. And what is a nation where a vote doesn't matter? Nazi Germany.
We must get all money and all forms of mammon out of the election process period. Well...YOU should, I'm pretty much toast. But I still care about your future.
What's beyond belief and why I don't trust Media. It seeeeeemzzz We have not one single "Leader" in this country to lead the folks out of the Corporate infestation of this nation. Not freakin' one! Not even half of one. Can this really be the truth? I don't think so. Heck, I would and I am nobody in the greater world.
