Dark Messiah?! From 9 years ago, when HoMM5:T.o.t.E was the game to have at that time
Really?! Awww come-on people!
Besides, I really am starting to enjoy MMH7's R.M.G. made maps as of right now, this very morning. Made a small map and beaten it with the Orcs against the Sylvan Elves. Man! The A.I. is so aggressive! Attacked my home territory by day 1 of the second week of the very first month of that Tiny version of a small map. But, of course, burned most of its army at breaking open the territories' gates' neutral guards. I happened to have flagged the nearest Elite troops bonus dwelling of my own territory and, still had a generous battalion of 100+ core units on top of it all. It did not even bothered to go and flag their own elite dwelling, duh!.
Enemy hero at level 6 and, mine at level 4 and still, the army's differences made all the decisions on the battlefield. I crushed them with such ease, it was almost unfair.

And as I said, no we aren't. Apart from Q reaffirming the status quo - that the fate of Heroes of the Ancient Order is up in the air - there's no single "new" thing in that conversation.

Well, I'm not sure it's only me but the mentioned thread provides a lot of juicy stuff. Perhaps it's because at this point I don't really care about H7, Ubilimbic and whatnot, but the "future tense" of the whole franchise. Hence I encourage Q. to go through with the so called "Heroes of the Ancient Order".

EnergyZ said: I thought all sites involving Might and Magic have lack of activity. Even this place doesn't have much people, as it once used to.
Unfortunately that's my impression as well. TBS fantasy games have it hard these days (even taking into account some succesfull examples like AoW III), and because H7 was such a dud things are not looking bright for the Heroes community. I remember much more activity back when H6 was still around, but it went downhill from there. The current state of this board is a sad thing actually: I think some of the guys here are keeping the activity artifically, cause there's no real activity in the game conversation sense (apart from joking, flaming each other and trashing the game all over the place).
God how I would like to see a reactivation of that 3DO's H5 project. Even if this kind of game would commercially fare so so. There not much source code left probably, but maybe something could be made around it.
EDIT: To give you guys some nostalgia, have a look here. It's a 'curiousity' page (unfortunately in my language - polish) with a collection of interesting graphic pieces that were created over the years in the franchises history. Some unused concepts like an alternative Dragon Golem from H4 or art for an alternative Dragon from H5 fortress. Some real gems can be seen here

There's only one way for Dalai to win that eternal debate.
How about finding a way to have HoMM4:Complete Edition to be available through the Gog Galaxy game client for purchase for kinda cheap and, that it is backwards compatible for Windows 8,8.1 and, 10 + having a latest Equilibris Mod. that renders the game fully Windows 10 compatible?
Hope that gets the whole Equilibris Team reeling about this proposed option I just mentioned.
Q is so busy working on that HoMM5.5 mod. that I get to wonder if he gets any life away from his PC.
I just realized, yesterday, that my original HoMM5:T.o.t.E v.3.0 game is the only game title that still requires its retail DVD disk inserted in my PC's DVD RW Drive for a physical on the spot installation and, that it has an on-disk copy of the Direct X 9.0c as well.
Does Heroes 6:Shades of Darkness and Heroes 7 still require Direct X 9.x or, is it in Direct X 11 already? Forgot, thx.

I do not use Google Chrome anymore because Win. 10 despises that browser.

That is what I was afraid of: The series never went up in graphical quality ever since DX 9.x.
I guess that jumping into the dot net framework 4.5 would be too innovative when it comes to game coding.
Direct X 10 & 11 have been adopted since Civilization 5-Vanilla in 2010 when Windows 7(6.1) was at its best acceptance levels(6 years ago).
Direct X 12 is well under way to become the next best thing for graphics rendering interface's encoding and decoding(launched with Win. 10, 1 whole year ago).
Ubisoft will have to find a dev. company that is ready to work in the DX11 and DX12 quality of game creation and implementation that will see a lot less bugs that are not supposed to show up in better PC specs and Operating Systems. Working under the compatibility pressure is really bad at implementing newer and better features to such games as Might and Magic Heroes.

I guess the intent was to make the game accessible to people with trash pcs but that kinda gets thrown out of the window with H7 piss poor optimization.
