Post Windspeaker Nerf Favorite Magic Heroes
I've been reevaluating the magic classes given the recent Windspeaker Nerf.
Here are my stock risers/fallers
Stock Up
Kastore
Strengths:
Stalker Creeping + Elemental Blocking: Imagine having both 2 turn invisibility AND free blockers from the Elemental ability. Amazing stuff. All you need is a bunch of 1 unit Stalkers stacks.
Easy Transition from Mana Efficient Early Summoning Creeping to Mana Intensive Destruction Creeping/End Game
Starts with Summon Elemental - A great week 1-2 creeping spell
Quick Access to Firewall through Master of Conjuration->Pyromancy
Artifact Guild
Stronger Dungeon Units
Elemental Vision
50% spell power roll
Weaknesses:
Empower Spells isn't useful until you transition to Destruction.
Knowledge Issues at the beginning - reliant on Elemental spell as your bread and butter. You want Enlightenment and Hall of Intrigue early.
Windspeaker or a +Spell Power hero can edge him out ever so slightly in the end game battle.
+12 Spell Power Neck doesn't work for Warlocks
Notes:
Currently my favorite due to being a highly consistent performer.
Sandro
Strengths:
Ghost Etherealness blockers - you can creep with just a bunch of 1 stack ghosts.
Bonus Spell Power Hero Special
Necromancy helps you build an early Skele Archer stack quickly.
Strong Raise Dead
Cult Master and Liches work well together
Can use Necro morale reducing artifacts without penalty.
Can go Shatter Light/Storm Wind if you are facing down a blitzkrieg might hero.
Weaknesses:
No Artifact Guild
Weak Units
Doesn't start with Summon Elemental
Eternal Servitude is Convenient, but Somewhat superfluous skill to start with.
Notes:
Sandro is a really consistent performer who can hit really high spell power for the end game. Shatter Light gives him interesting utility against good-aligned might heroes.
Stock Stable and Still Good
Elleshar
Strengths:
Bonus Spell Power Hero Special
Druid Channeling (super high spell power for end-game battle)
Starts with Enligtenment when it matters most (early game)
Starts with Destruction (He doesn't waste skill points on Summoning and he can power Destruction with extra knowledge from early Enlightenment)
Pixies and Archers do a good job of cleaning up Destruction weakened stacks without taking losses
Weaknesses:
40% spell power roll
Doesn't have any special blocking abilities Etherealness and Invisibility. The best he's got are Treant hit point pots for Ranged/Caster encounters.
No Artifact Merchants
Notes:
You take Elleshar to see possibly the highest spell power spiekes in the game with Channeling.
Zehir
Strengths:
Elemental Blocking: Your dead 1 unit stack gargoyles can now block again as Elementals.
Easy Transition from Mana Efficient Early Summoning Creeping to Mana Intensive Destruction Creeping/End Game
Good Tactical Ranged Creatures
Starts with Summon Elemental - A great week 1-2 creeping spell
Quick Access to Firewall through Master of Conjuration->Pyromancy
Artifact Guild
Extra spells from Library
50% spell power roll
Weaknesses:
No real significant weaknesses. He just lacks super special capabilities like Invisibility/Etherealness.
Notes:
Zehir is the Academy version of Kastore. His elemental ability really helps because Acadmey lacks Invisibility/Etherealness.
Theodorus:
Strengths:
Easy Transition from Mana Efficient Early Summoning Creeping to Mana Intensive Destruction Creeping/End Game
Starts with Summon Elemental - A great week 1-2 creeping spell
Good Tactical Ranged Creatures
Quick Access to Firewall through Master of Conjuration->Pyromancy
Artifact Guild
Extra spells from Library
50% spell power roll
Weaknesses:
No real significant weaknesses. He just lacks super special tricks like Invisibility/Etherealness/Elemental hero special.
Notes:
Theodorus is a brute spell power character who just powers his way through creeping with his hero special and 50% spell power roll.
Stock Down
Jhora
Strengths:
Windspeaker - now nerfed, not as good as before
Good Tactical Ranged Creatures
Artifact Guild
Extra Spells from Library
Artificer artifacts in the late game
Weaknesses:
Advanced Artificer->Consumer Artifact is an absolutely brutal start (she used to start with Summoning)
Doesn't have special blocking capabilities like Etherealness or Invisibility
35% Bad Spell Power Roll
Notes:
Conclusion: Jhora isn't that great anymore. Jhora is still more of a quick Light Magic Buffer/Summoner than a face melter, and her turns don't come as quickly as they used to.
Zydar
Strengths:
Windspeaker - now nerfed, not as good as before
Can get both Windspeaker and Empowered Spells
Weaknesses:
Demon units are horrible caster support units.
No Artifact Merchants
Notes:
Conclusion: Zydar is still good, but not #1 like he used to be.

Sylsai...
...what a pleasure to discover new things in Heroes 5.5
This engineering shadow killer, is one of my favourites...surprisingly. I always walked the destructive path of a Warlock(Raelag), or tried the furious fast attack of an overlord (Yrwanna).
Assasins were never my first pick,(not a pick at all to be honest)but this one is the FASTEST and most EFFECTIVE creeper i've ever met in the game.
And not only a creeper, but a final big boss in extra large maps, if the skill wheel favours his development (witch is not certain sadly), or the map is blessed with the presence of a memmory mentor, that will make you forget unwanted skills that came to your favour.
I still can't believe that i've smashed powerfull AI opponent armies of any kind, ONLY with my black dragons and my shadow mistresses in endgame situations.
Try the path of the Assasin, you'll be surprised.

Now i get it. There aren't many. I think they are just 3 of them. This Dungeon Assasin, the Necro Kaspar witch is useful nowdays with the downgrade of the Vampire specialty hero, and one more from heaven witch is an interesting pick if you dare to walk to the dark side of heaven.

You mean that the suggestions are to ditch Logistics as primary perk, and replace it with Luck?

Can someone tell me by how much Chain Lightning was nerfed? My friend is whining cuz he thinks it got nerfed by 50% while I feel it got nerfed by 10-15%. I dont know what the old multipliers were.
Talking about Tier 4 Sky Daughter in Stronghold.

Rangers "Avenger" native ability, has a really cubersome way to chose favourite enemies. Have you ever think about changing it, and create a more easy way to choose enemies?
Also Inferno's native special structure, is trully useless, if not prove me wrong. Have you ever think to change it and make it something less junk?
Are those changes possible to consider?

There have been reoccurring conversations regarding Avenger ability, unfortunately it is heavily hardcodded so we hit a rock for now.
Regarding the inferno building it is possible to be given a existing in-game effect but it is just a low priority for now.
To sum it up we agree with what you say but a lot of technical difficulties are on the way.
