And since it is in WoW we don't have to accept it in HoMM? If we thought this way, we should reject elves, dwarves and other creature because they were. Or, nagas, if we are going to talk aoubt something specific.

Quote: All in all, I'd like to ask you all about one thing: some of you may agree with the thesis that somwhere there in space may be another intelligent race. Most of us do like the sci-fi films where human meets other races. Why don't we allow fantasy world's inhabitants to meet them too? Because what? Because it would simply de-so-la-te the traditional world?
There are KAZILLIONS of games that introduce new and self-invented species, creatures, races, etc.
If you like seeing that in games, why not play those games? HoMM doesn't need that in order to be good. Heck, in my opinion, it would only make it worse.
Quote: Bwah, I think that in this way we only will be able to receive the next generations of Heroes III clones. Ok, Heroes V. Do we reallly want to? :/
YES!
Heroes of might and magic has NEVER invented any species of their own, it merely used species and creatures existing in general lore and mythology. And in my opinion, it should NOT stray from that path.
But I'm told my opinion is outdated.

That's just a name for Demons, really. Yes, demons from another planet, but they are still demons. Just like Sheogh is still Hell, just with a different name.

Well that's wrong. Kreegans may look and seem like Demons but they're far from that. How many Demons do you know of that literally breed like insects (in Hives), control space-age technology, happen to have been made by things called the Creators (not the Destroyers, humm?) and have a fully-functional social hierarchy instead of "me big demon, me tougher than small demon"?
Plus, we also have Snow Elves. How many of them did you see before Gelu?

Alright, they're a fairly new race. Let us say that they are a new take on a common race.

I like the idea of guns in Heroes.
But only Muskets, Cannons and Riffles.
Anything which is moderner than Muskets and Cannons has no place in Homm.

Any kind of gun is completely out of theme of Heroes and has no place in any decent Heroes game.
Flamethrowers? Go play a different game.

I agree with Drako.
Rifles and muskets and cannons etc but not some sci-fi stuff.
Sci-fi and modern stuff doesnt belong to the HoMM games.
There was muskeets etc very long ago, so why cant they be in HoMM?

We could argue about this for years and never come to a conclusion. Quite frankly I don't think anyone should be obliged to care what type of gun we think does or doesn't belong in Heroes, especially when most people can't even decide whether they want guns or not.
I'm against muskets and rifles and flamethrowers. Might and Magic doesn't have muskets and rifles and flamethrowers. Might and Magic has high-tech blasters and robot-Guardians.

Bringing Guns in to HoMM being to raise issues that was considered in the introduction of "Forge Town" in HoMM 3, this idea was considered to aline HoMM and MM closer in story line.
I find that the introduction of Guns is a considerably bad idea, this would detract from the "fantasy" line of the game and would need a great "story" or development line to even consider to introduce such a idea.
You would have to give a reason, where the "technology" came from, introduce new development trees and completely remodel the game to be "user friendly" to the idea of Guns and thus the introduction of technology in a "Fantasy" environment.

Quote: I voted no.
A game like Heroes which is set in a medieval universe shouldn't have guns. The only exceptions to this are the gremlin's weapons. Yes, technically they are guns, but I think of them more as magically powered spherical projectile launching apparatuses . Basically, they're a can with ball inside, which is launches due to a small magical explosion inside, propelling the ball out. And essentially, this is how a gun works, but I'm willing to look past it. Other than this one weapon, there should be no other projectile weapons excluding arrows/bolts and the magical shots from mages, titans etc.
they call them blunderbusses lol!!
